  1. Felix and Sylvester, both cats. In the cartoons, Felix is the protagonist, Sylvester the antagonist.
  2. Not to be a nitpicker, but I am - Where are they getting all of this Polaroid film?
  3. This episode answered one of my questions in a blink and you miss it moment. When Elsie is examining the stray, her tablet reads "GPS CORRUPTED". So, the hosts do have GPS, albeit one susceptible to being disabled, deliberately or otherwise.
  4. We haven't seen it, but there's also the cannibalism story with Abernathy.
  5. How do we know they were hosts and not guests?
  6. In interviews, Nolan has said Westworld takes place in the 21st century, without being more specific. That leaves about 70 to 80 years to develop the tech.
  7. They have steers for meat, not dairy cows. They aren't set up to process milk and milk products.
  8. The hosts are still talking to and, maybe, listening to Arnold, so it's quite possible that he survived somehow in their programming.
  9. I think that what TMIB meant was that a guest couldn't die at the hands of a host.
  10. Just brainstorming here, but suppose Arnold was killed by a host and, in fact, is the only person ever to die (or at least to be killed) in Westworld? That would explain the suicide story and the reason to erase all mention of him.
  11. Ennui - TMIB has clearly indicated that he is looking for real danger, so we may get to a place where guests can be killed.
  12. OK, how about this? We know that operations, etc. is underground. It is, in fact, in Deep 13, and the ones in charge are Dr. Clayton Forrester (often referred to as Dr. F) and TV'S Frank. The stray was hijacked by Joel (or Mike) and the bots in order to beam them up something worth watching, as a break from the terrible movies that is their regular fare. What do you think, sirs?
  13. Delos is a Greek island. In mythology, it is the birthplace of Appollo and Artemis. Artemis is a goddess of the hunt and chastity. Most of the stories about her involve her fighting to preserve her virginity. Sound like anyone we know? Hector was the champion of Troy, defeated and killed by Achilles. Wyatt. Wyatt Warp, of course, the famous western lawman, although he was not the white hat hero he's often portrayed to be, more of a gray hat. Clementine. The song "My Darling Clementine", about the 1849 Gold Rush. Also the title of a John Ford western about Wyatt Warp. This one I don't think is intentional - I get a real Firesign Theatre "I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus" vibe from the show. The "Bozos" album (a primitive form of CD) tells the story of a visitor to a fair in the future with realistic characters (holograms, including a deputy). The main character illegally accesses the characters in hope of getting to the core, and the truth behind the park. At the core, he encounters the one responsible for running the park, the Doctor.
  14. Relying on Logan is questionable. I believe that he qualified what he said, such as "I think he committed suicide" and "I hear they're hemorrhaging money". I'm going to watch again to check on that. If so, Logan has heard rumors and such, but has no direct or precise knowledge about Westworld.
  15. I agree. On the other hand, Abernathy had been her father for only ten years, before that he was the sheriff. It seems that Delores has been in this loop for 30 or more years, so who was her father before Abernathy? The bartender?
  16. I think the satellite link may have a more mundane explanation - blackmail. Just as Elsie used video of the repairman having sex with a dead host, I imagine that a lot of things have been done in Westworld that the guests do not want people on the outside to see ("What happens in Westworld, stays in Westworld!"). Even if they are just robot victims, I imagine that a guest who enjoyed raping and murdering child hosts would not want video of that on the news. To quote Hannibal Lecter: "It would be best to have privacy for that sort of thing." Preventing information getting out must be one of the biggest concerns for Delos; bad for business, and the things that are allowed could make Delos look bad, too. Another possibility is industrial espionage. We don't know how prevalent the Westworld technology is. If it's limited to Westworld, a lot of people would be looking to steal the technology. So, this could be a subplot not directly connected to the main story.
  17. Who indeed? Arnold is a popular choice.
  18. I think that the second time Hector attacked the town, there were soldiers present. A couple of them helped capture one of the guests involved in the raid.

    Westworld Music

Something I'm hoping will be played in the show.

    Westworld Music

I'm really hoping for Theme For An Imaginary Western by Jack Bruce/Pete Brown. The version by Mountain is probably the one most people have heard. The original is a keyboard oriented (or should that be occidentalled?) song, so a player piano version would be perfect.
  21. I'm not sold yet. Why bother creating a host wife that Bernard can have video chats with (because you would need a host to be always available to pull it off)? Much easier to just give him a backstory that both his wife and son were dead. How has it been kept secret that he's a robot? Nor has TMIB been acting as if he's mourning a lost love. And why would he wait 30 years to look for the maze again? His story seems to be that he's done everything there is to do at Westworld, except for some hidden level he's yet to find.
  22. William and Logan didn't find Pariah by accident. Logan knew of its existence, but had never been able to find it or get there (remember, Westworld is huge). The easiest way to get there is to find a host that can bring you there as part of a story. That's why Logan was so excited by their prisoner. Since the park has been around a while at this point (two timelines or not) it's possible that a lot of guests have been there and return to it.
  23. To me, the quote doesn't sound like something he would say to Delores. Maybe if there was a full scale host rebellion going on. Wouldn't surprise me if we're both wrong and It's Arnold!
  24. I don't know whether Theresa would be the spokesperson, but I do think the most likely person to threaten to take control away from Ford would be someone from Delos.
  25. Interesting point. If you subscribe to the multiple timelines, there's no problem. If you do not, it can be explained away. These hosts are more dangerous than others, it may be too difficult to dial their behavior down (although it seems that is easy to do). We don't know how many people we saw were hosts. It is quite possible that a lot, even the majority, of the orgy participants, male and female, were guests.
