  1. my vet swears by Friskies shreds as the equivalent of potato chips for cats, that is "every cat likes it". That's what we used for our cat who was sadly declining in health and losing weight.
  2. I find the Scotts Turfbuilder "Scot" (red hair, red beard) very creepy looking.
  3. I had never heard of Thali, and hadn't seen it at the Indian restaurant we always go to. It turns out that another restaurant nearby does have both a vegetable and a mixed meat thali. I'll have to try it sometime!
  4. I had the same thought! There was a lot of food put in front of them! It was interesting that we found out EXACTLY when this was filmed due to London being essentially shut down for the Queen's death. I was at the shore in Jersey then so I know it was early September. I nearly always cook basmati when I do rice, and it's SO EASY! I can't believe Budha screwed it up. I was having trouble understanding how "school canteen chutney" is a complement! Maybe it comes from a jar so tastes "exactly like it should every time"? I don't think most of us think fondly of school cafeteria food LOL. That was just plain weird.
  5. good thing too. Have you ever tried to bathe a cat?
  6. I'm glad she didn't get overly upset about the lamb. It look perfect to me.
  7. yeah I love me the Voltagios (I planned a whole vacation around going to Volt in Frederick MD) but this doesn't send me.
  8. I keep seeing the ad for Yellowjackets. Love the song (even looked it up). But man, I have seen this ad about a thousand times at this point.
  9. I don't think leeks are root vegetables. Or at least it's a stretch; what we eat is pretty much all above ground. Onions sure, and garlic. But yes, we usually think "beets, carrots, turnips, potatoes, etc."
  10. exactly. Otherwise we'd be wondering why did everyone have green apple in their dessert?
  11. apparently more like "ego points"
  12. it was a stew that answered that.
  13. Guest lowered my opinion of him right from the get-go by asking for an eXpresso martini. Not to mention saying "we're sailing like a motherf&%$#er now."
  14. Colin would be my knight in shining armor for killing the eel for me. Yikes!
  15. I recall the (warm) sauce for the (cold) scallops getting poured table side, which makes sense. Otherwise you get partially cooked scallops and partially congealed butter sauce.
  16. That just seemed like a strange thing to do. They didn't seem to have any relationship to one another.
  17. Buddha certainly has a lot of good technique up his sleeves, doesn't he? Personally I would have most liked to eat Tom's leek dish, Sara's fish soup, and Amar's scallop dish. Anyone know what "inverted meringue" is?
  18. up until the last moment I felt like "thank goodness they aren't going to keep Molly JUST BECAUSE SHE'S THE LAST WOMAN." Her dessert was so clearly inferior in presentation. But then they kept her. Sigh. (Note: I like her, I just don't think she's at the same level.) I do agree that the "ice cream sandwiches" deserved to also be in the bottom.
  19. that's how you know she's "authentic country" LOL.
  20. Me too. I thought it was funny that in the first episode he said he was single now and could "have some fun," but he still opted out of the stupid hot tub games. Smart man. As a guest would you want to know that the crew was pouring alcohol in the hot tub (and probably other unmentionable stuff)?
  21. yeah, I've never seen a single one of those movies (and would have probably lied when asked to raise my hand to say whether I was a fan) but it was pretty innocuous overall. I think 10 minutes is enough to taste and discuss three dishes. It seemed like they were well finished and there were still a few minutes on the next group's cook time.
  22. She has a great personality, doesn't she?
  23. That's what the boyfriend does (or maybe she just leaves and he's happy). I mean, I keep half cans of wet catfood in the fridge with a lid on. Is that "keeping pet food in the fridge?" Doesn't everyone do that?
  24. I thought it was funny in a sad way that when the one stew called her father and said she fell he told her she shouldn't drink so much. THAT was the first thing he thought of??
  25. I keep seeing this generally sweet ad about an adopted teen that wants a pet cat but the mom is allergic. So in the end the kid is totally happy with a gerbil running on a wheel. (The ad has a tagline "you don't have to be perfect, to be a perfect parent. AdoptUSKids.org") I'm sorry, but a hamster is no substitute for a cat.
