  1. I thought he looked a lot better in the photos. When he showed up I was seriously not impressed. They actually let rank amateurs touch the precious coral? Seems like a bad idea. Did anyone catch the quick glance at Jason in a kimono type robe? Reminded me of his stint on Project Runway.
  2. My theory is that Joey just really hit it off with them, so they had become biased to think he should be the one. And perhaps Dotun was a bit subdued for whatever reason, so they were less impressed.
  3. Right after Dotun's proposal Jesse interviewed yet another potential contestant for The Bachelor. Her reasoning made NO SENSE. It's so hard to make a connection in NYC so she wants to go on a show with a horde of other women, to an as-yet unnamed Bachelor? Oh right, you're a "hopeless romantic." No girl, you want your 15 minutes of fame, and in the best case, a new couple of gigs on Bachelor Nation.
  4. Joey, back to the stupid poem??? And I'm only an occasional viewer, but why do they make the second-place person go through the whole faux proposal when it isn't going to actually happen?
  5. Margot, Margot, what were you thinking. Saying "you aren't looking for a serious relationship, right?" So it sounds like "we're not about to get engaged, right? We can just fool around?" when SHE MEANT "I don't have the hots for you." Of course he misinterpreted it.
  6. that's NOT an engagement, LOL. That's "going steady."
  7. Oh I'll have to check back in (I quit at the 1.5 hour point) to check out both Dotun's better present (I was totally unimpressed by Joey's) as well as the new haircut. That's all I could look at, in a negative way, and I was an early fan of Joey. He ended up boring me in the end. I do NOT understand how lying about something so important is a good way to start a (hopefully) lifetime commitment.
  8. I just discovered Silent Witness (I know) so I've been working my way forward from when Nikki started (so young!) after watching the last two seasons first. So Britbox will stay for awhile, and I love Tosh even if my crush isn't there anymore.
  9. That's what I meant. The poem was dumb to begin with, Joey just framed it. He put no personal choice into it at all.
  10. That poem was so stupid. That's the best he could come up with????
  11. Seems to me that Charity had already decided on Dotun, but is upset that her family seems to see more "glow" with Joey. Like when you flip a coin for something you think you are undecided about, and are upset at what comes up.
  12. wow I would not recognize Ashley Jensen aka Agatha Raisin!
  13. as a slight tangent from @Nordly Beaumont 's comment above, all this discussion seems to indicate that the challenge didn't make a whole lot of sense. And the term "double bind" seemed like some Barbie-esque cultural point (a la America Ferrara's speech) they were bound and determined to make, but it didn't really connect to the challenge. Oh well, I know they have to keep coming up with "new" ideas.
  14. and as I pointed out upstream, on the "modest" designer's own shop page, she features a dress with a low cut design with the chest (not) covered by lace. So I guess there are different views of modest. https://batsheva.com/
  15. to be fair, I don't think that was Brittany's original intent. I recall her asking the model if it was riding up and the model/Christian (!) said she was fine with it.
  16. I assume she got eliminated in her season as one of six. Not that I keep track of those things.
  17. I certainly noticed her hair. How many hours would it take to make it do that? (Assuming it's her own-- I know it certainly looked like it but I've watched Padma Lakshmi go from medium length to long overnight without being able to tell how she did it).
  18. And when Christian said "that dress makes her look amazing" (or something like that) I gave serious side-eye. Yeah, she's "chubby" for the modeling world, and I guess it's great that she "doesn't look fat."
  19. and the extremely large boobs?
  20. Somehow I missed her complaint about her name. Since her name is not pronounced in any way like it is spelled, she can't possibly complain about the first time someone tries it after meeting her, right? Was this after someone had been corrected a couple of times? My last name is pronounced ok, but people always want to insert an extra letter that doesn't exist.
  21. speaking of, what does "one day" mean? Does anyone know the actual time line? As in, approximately what time do they go to mood... get the model fitting... etc.? Clearly the runway was on the "second day" with hair and makeup-- what else happens on the second day of a "one day challenge"? I think he needed to drop the bedazzling on the bust, and make the sweatshirt vibe more pronounced. The little ill-sewn stomach hand-warmer pocket just looked dumb, but if it were slouchier and bigger I think it would have fit the challenge better. Although maybe I'm thinking of casual/glamorous rather than basic and bold (which honestly doesn't make sense).
  22. I think they just liked it, so they were forced into saying things like "It WOULD be modest if...." Personally (I am certainly no designer), I might have reached back in history to parts of a woman's body that were once considered sexy when shown, such as the ankle or back of the neck/upper back. Or perhaps a tiny slice of bare waistline.
  23. It seemed a bit off that the guest judge was "tuned" so much to Brittney's challenge. But then looking at the front page of her website, I can see why she wasn't offended by all the skin showing:
  24. Yeah, she couldn't seem to accept that sometimes she did good stuff, and sometimes she sent out crap. It wasn't "mixed messages." I think you mean Stegasaurous Why did Christian hate Rami's Hawaiian shirt so much?
  25. I figured that was just to make him "the right height." Of course you can't make him smaller that way.....
