  1. I want to see a surprise appearance from Mr. Reese & Mr. Finch!
  2. Oh, I get the feeling there's going to be some tears shed at my house.
  3. So in case we didn't get it, last night's subtext was: HAROLD CAN'T PULL THE TRIGGER. He won't hold a gun, he's against John going in to retrieve Khan, he won't read Khan in (which would have been awesome), he won't trigger the code in the laptop (last week), etc. etc. Clearly, it's his end of season arc...he has to commit to an action. And, silly me, I thought there might be something INSIDE the Faberge egg. I guess it's the really cool briefcase the Machine wants. (And it's a good thing Harold didn't see Root destroy some art!)
  4. I totally called the rapprochement with Peter. Alicia's going to have to both learn from him AND find herself in similar situations as SA. And at this point, she realizes she has to do it so might as well make the best of it: they are going to be colleagues, of a sort. (With 2 kids and the SA office in common).
  5. She can negotiate a nice, long microloan on another continent... That said, we actually saw the President being Presidential (and/or political): twisting arms and reminding people what they owe him. He had to have SOME skilllz to get elected other than being an ex-spy. And he truly seems to trust Bess. You wonder why he didn't ask her to be in his administration sooner. (Of course, then we wouldn't have the premise for the show & the Mystery of the Dead SoS). Matt still seems to be cruisin' for a bruisin' and I suspected Blake was there at the Sec's orders. (But that's the second time she's conned the rest of the staff this season...if that's her SOP, she's going to have a lot more distrust on the staff before too long).
  6. I was totally expecting the girl to have been killed or something in lockup. (Though I suppose we are supposed to think Danny has a heart of gold for just scaring her).
  7. I think you can tell she WANTS to get results, and perhaps is considering how useful her "St. Alicia" persona is to her now. That's some serious character growth I'd like to see happen as well.
  8. We rewatched last night (my wife hadn't seen it) and the jokes that Matt wrote for Bess WERE pretty good...and she delivered them well. But even though Mike is an ass, it is true in DC: you are there to make your boss/party/legislative body look good, not yourself. AND he didn't clear the interview with anyone (I assume any State Dept. employee has to get permission to be interviewed). If he has thoughts about becoming a pundit, he would need to leave the government. (Hey! Exit arc!)
  9. This would be so damn funny...I'd totally watch that spinoff.
  10. So, I guess Queens=losers? Ouch. Well, I don't mind. It'll keep the cool kids from disturbing us in our comfy, interesting borough.
  11. Nicky is actually LESS annoying than Stevie (who is older) on Madam Secretary. And she has the unpleasant job of being the only young female in the Reagan clan.
  12. His full title is Lt. Col. Professor Arm Candy, USMC (Ret), CSW, LPN, EA.
  13. I get the feeling that Alicia's going to spend the rest of the season finding out just how hard it is to do this job she WANTED and was elected to do. It feels like payback time in another sense. And once again, this seems to be pointing to Alicia finding some kind of common ground with Peter. She is going to have to make similar choices and find out whether she will do the same things he did, or pay the price for doing it differently.
  14. I totally expect him to end up as the Ambassador to the Vatican! ;-)
  15. ...and continuing to nitpick...WOULD the neurotoxin have the same effect if it is ingested by mouth as when it is injected IV? After all, it goes right to the stomach there, pouring on the acid...I suppose you could absorb it through your mouth & esophagus, but those would both take longer than going directly into the bloodstream. (I'm just Bill Nye the Science Guy today, aren't I?) ...well I suppose you could aspirate it and choke to death! ;-)
  16. I wonder if Iris is part of endgame for John. That is, when the series heads toward its finale, and the team goes on to life After, whether he can be a guy who has a wife & family and "used to work for the government" in his past. (Like the Invincibles...though I see John adapting to life after The Machine about as well as Mr. Invincible did).
  17. Love the dialogue about the episode...I caught up with it tonight. My big quibble is that Beth has this completely kick ass algorithm that Decima is willing to pay millions for ON THE HARD DRIVE on her laptop, in public, and she's just carrying it around with her? (Remember, this woman's laptop was STOLEN from her already!) No way...if the algorithm is that valuable, it's on a VERY secure server, and she only works on it over a very secure network. (WAY too many thumb drives on this show, as well...whenever the disaffected teen handed Harold HER thumb drive a couple episodes ago, I thought: you NEVER put a thumb drive into a corporate...or in this case Machine machine!) So MAYBE Harold managed to get the Trojan Horse on her laptop in Hong Kong and MAYBE it made its way into her code when she was updating it on the server. But she's not walking around with a program worth millions on the effing hard drive of her laptop. (Can you tell I work for a tech company?)
  18. Not if you're Dr. Professor ArmCandy (USMC-RET), husband of the Secretary of State on Madam Secretary...but Tim Daly is a good actor and has always been easy on the eyes! ;-)
  19. SHH! Don't blow the show finale! ;-)
  20. If this is what Danny looked like in high school, would YOU have gone out with him? ;-)
  21. ...just mentioned on the "Good Wife" forum that Alicia was also playing Halo while waiting for election results last night. The Halo folks must have a really good Product Placement team!
  22. Halo must have a helluva product placement team: they were also featured in "Madam Secretary" last night, as Bess battled PTSD.
  23. That's what saved it during its inconsistent times for me...reminds of how Third Watch (also shot in NYC/populated with New York actors) was pretty awful writing-wise, but had some really good acting in it.
  24. He's "hers" but I'm not sure where she found him. (That was pointed out early in the season...all the others were the last SoS's staff).
  25. Finn's in private practice now, right? His client was the CotW last week (the guy in the wheelchair/plastic gun). He left after he dropped out of the SA race, didn't he? So if he's sticking around (hard to know with Downton), he'll have to be a guy they work with as an associate or co-representation. (Unless Alicia brings him back to work for the SA, which I rather doubt she would/or he would take the job).
