  1. As Cooper would say: "We'll never know."
  2. I know Cole North is a name from the comics, but my mind went to Col. Oliver North… remember him? Just saw him on an old episode of JAG! This North looks like he might turn on Fisk down the road…
  3. As Rebecca said on Cheers, "Oh, why can't more men send flowers?" To which Sam replied, "I didn't know Mormons couldn't send flowers." Okay, back to the thread now...
  4. “In Fling It, one team member will have to hit their other team member with a poisoned spike, a poisoned blow gun dart, and a shuriken. The first team to finish - will be eliminated.”
  5. I laughed and laughed! And are you hinting that if the sumo’s mawashi had not been done up properly, the clues would all have fallen out into the ring? 😮
  6. Yay, another season of TAR! Did the Amazing Yellow Line get an upgrade this season, or has it had that sparkle at the front for a while? I was a bit worried about the racers in the climbing task — the rain was coming down!
  7. One of the best aspects of the original Netflix Daredevil was the NM&P relationship. Couldn't the writers launch Matt into this story without sacrificing that core element? I'm unhappy about it, but we will see where it goes. RIP, Avocados at Law! 😭
  8. The Brutalist cinematographer won? Lol! ;)
  9. I think it’d be so fun as a musician to be playing in the orchestra as part of a Bond tribute at the Oscars!
  10. I would say she looks a fair bit like Mae Whitman (prolific voice actor, but also from plenty of live action shows). Maddie first, then Mae Whitman:
  11. They killed Lenny!!!
  12. Disappointed the sauce wasn't an apple cider gastrique! Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben "The Thing" Grimm in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
  13. There's bonus content about Solo's vault that shows just how amazingly detailed the set is -- and it's well lit to boot. Too bad we can't really appreciate it to its full extent.
  14. Letting Sunny have her game was one thing that I could possibly overlook. More glaringly, though, the game would have to have had an Internet connection in order to be used for communication. They obviously edited out the scene where Sunny asked the bad guy for the Wi-Fi password! 😄 Also, points for Ormewood’s DMV photo. Don’t all of our driver’s license pictures look like that? Say “Goblin!”
  15. Stephen Fry confirmed as the voice of The Supervisor: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/stephen-fry-confirmed-cast-star-wars-skeleton-crew-newsupdate/
  16. Supervisor: Jod… *I* am your father!
  17. He didn’t have to figure it out — he had been told a year ago by himself, he just had to remember and repeat the information to his older self to complete the loop. Bootstrap paradox.
  18. Just wondering what the in-universe explanation is for designing a starship with an expendable outer hull? It surprised me that the ship could possibly still be spaceworthy after the encounter with the giant crab (too bad the little crabs didn’t start singing “Shiny” from Moana!).
  19. Well, Villengard did make Jack Harkness' and River Song's squareness guns:
  20. I found this to be one of the weaker Christmas specials. Although Joy was ostensibly the centre of the story, she actually got little story time. Joy's most memorable scene was being the butt of Fifteen's (feigned) insults, and that came across as being mean more than anything else -- especially since she already seemed like someone who was going through a tough time. In The Lodger, Eleven launched a fake set of insults at a character (Sophie), but she responded with strength and quickly saw what Eleven's point was. I didn't get that same sense of relief upon hearing Fifteen's explanation. In addition, Trev and the Silurian fellow (the actor who I'll always think of as Anderson from Sherlock) had nasty (but not atypical in Who), random deaths but Fifteen didn't really seem all that sympathetic. When that happened to people around Twelve, he might not have been all that sympathetic either (as in the victims in Mummy on the Orient Express), but at least he'd acknowledge that it was a brutal fact of the universe. Also, I would say that Anita was the most successful character introduction in the episode. The story built her up from worker stuck in a tedious job to person with potential... and left her as worker in a fancier version of the tedious job. I hope she enjoys bringing towels around more in the Time Hotel than she did in the Sandringham! Finally, the tag scene over Bethlehem was a bit on the nose. The earlier joke about no room at the inn was funny, but I would have been fine if they had left the Racnoss' webstar as the current series' only Christmas Star. Oh yes -- despite my criticisms and seeming grumpiness, Merry Christmas 🎄 to all, and best wishes for the New Who Year!
  21. The story just kept getting crazier and crazier — a nutty way to draw all these disparate corners of the MCU together. I’m guessing that for some, it was a bit much. For others (like myself), it was just hilarious to see who was going to pop up next — Kaecilius! Dormammu! Loki! Ebony Maw! Thanos! Wow, what a romp. Fury ooout!
  22. Directed by The Daniels! Really enjoying the "made for kids" vibe of the show, complete with the necessary tropes of the meek kid becoming the hero, and the kid with the bravado showing her vulnerability.
  23. So Port Brogo = Tortuga? We have Long Jod… Silvio? Also, “Mr.” SM-33 (but no Captain H0-0K… yet). Skeletons, a brothel, a brig scene right out of Disney’s Adventureland, and a mythical island (planet) filled with treasure. Any guesses as to the next borrowed mandatory pirate story element? Did anyone notice a big “X” anywhere in the first episode? 😄 This is fun so far!
  24. That was fun! I’ve actually never seen The Goonies, but somehow this show reminded me of it anyways! It’s high time we had a Star Wars show without the pretense of having to be “about something”. Just kids having fun, getting into trouble, and becoming companions, if not friends. Time to be a ten-year old kid again!
