  1. Just realized that the flashback triggered by The Armorer's work was a callback all the way back to S1E1, when Din was remembering how he became a foundling. Full circle storytelling.
  2. Amazing how pristine that shoreline appeared, considering there was a giant space-gator carcass lying there not too long ago with its entrails all over the beach in front of the covert. Can you imagine having to live with that? How offal! 😄
  3. Always fun to try to read the Aurebesh signage in these shows! Most of it was shown as if seen from the back, but you could still make out the words. Here were a couple of shots that amused us: As Pershing and Kane walk through Monument Park, "Random Text Here". The signage at the train station: "Federal Station. Executive Building. Monument Park." "The public transit system of Coruscant has a zero tolerance policy on its rules and regulations. Report all violations immediately."
  4. As a Disneyphile, I'm highly amused by the Galaxy's Edge references in this thread! Did anyone else notice the area music in the background at Monument Plaza (Umate's peak)? Not only was it a reminder of the kind of area music you'd hear while walking through a Disney park, but it was actually a light-hearted version of John Williams' March of the Resistance, from The Force Awakens:
  5. Surely it's from having traveled back in time through a wormhole to serve as a footman at Downton Abbey: By the way, loving the musical callbacks in the series -- how about that synth hit "booinnnggg" from V'ger and ST:TMP, with the accompanying Klingon theme! Also, the First Contact theme now has a double meaning in the show -- not only with the Borg and Locutus reminder, but also with Picard's "first contact" with his son.
  6. Wow, this season took a giant turn for the better by bringing Worf in! If Raffi can prove herself to him, maybe the Son of Mogh will pour her something a little stronger than chamomile tea next time: prune juice! Also, before this episode, I would have said that the most gruesome scene ever in Star Trek was Cmdr. Remmick getting blown up in TNG’s S1 “Conspiracy”. Who knew that it would be exceeded 35 years later in a scene where Picard and Riker have a heartfelt discussion about fatherhood? What a horrific de-aging job on Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes…
  7. They’re like a shorter version of ZZ Top…
  8. Yay, it’s back, with monsters, cowboys, pirates, and political intrigue: Star Wars: The Meg-alorian Star Wars: Gunfight at the OK Saloon Star Wars: Dead Droid’s Chest Star Wars: The Scottish Play Go Go Mando!

    S02.E10: The Return

Go, James, Go! 😁 Honestly, though, what would we do without this show? We've dropped through a TV sinkhole to find ourselves taken prisoner and toiling in the snark mines... and let me tell you, this is one rich deposit!
  10. Funny, I read "Elijah Stone" and I thought of Jonny Lee Miller's "Eli Stone". Now that would be amusing -- Elijah waking up to see George Michael singing at the end of the bed...
  11. The voice of the Eleos computer is Amy Earhart, Stacey from the Pink Five series of Star Wars parodies!
  12. So... who bugged Oren's shoe, or is that just a feature of shoes that cost $500? 🤔
  13. A "Greyoncé" reference? Not sure what this means in the context of the Willow universe...
  14. Maarva in episode 3: “Gets to you, doesn't it? That's what a reckoning sounds like. You want it to stop, but it just keeps coming. It's when it stops, that's when you'll really want to start to fret.”
  15. Really subtle acting choice by Kyle Soller as Syril (because we seem to be on a first name basis now) rescues Dedra — the slightest and briefest of smiles. Not well-adjusted, that one. Also, Denise Gough really made me believe she was terrified in that whole sequence. First-rate acting in this show.
  16. Kyle Soller's subtle smile as he rescues Dedra: Denise Gough's look of terror after having come within millimetres of death: Amazing acting choices... but I would not call Dedra and Syril's relationship healthy!
  17. Narkina 5: Galactic Starcruiser hotel in Walt Disney World:
  18. Unfortunately, she doesn't look like she's back at all. With a second season on the way, I'm not sure Tony Gilroy will end this season on a positive note. I can see the ISB deciding to make an example of Ferrix and annihilating everyone, although that might accelerate Cassian's decision to join the rebels too quickly in story time.
  19. Sorry to be pedantic, but it looks like "ULF" can be used to describe radio waves in the range of 300 Hz to 3000 Hz, according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). https://web.archive.org/web/20131031020427/http://www.itu.int/dms_pubrec/itu-r/rec/v/R-REC-V.431-7-200005-I!!PDF-E.pdf
  20. I know, right? The writing and acting: It's almost on the same level as: Just needs George Lucas to polish the script a bit. 😄
  21. I’m sure someone has already commented on this, but it’s fascinating to see the Star Wars universe drawn in details that we’ve possibly guessed at before, but have never spent much time with because we’ve been too busy with blasters, spaceships and lightsabers… The galaxy as a playground for amoral corporations. The Empire as a colonizing force, strip-mining planets and enjoying the sights as they do so. The Imperial regime as full-on dystopia. Much more nuance than just good guys vs. bad guys.
  22. I don’t know — can’t you just pay the kids in the junior high after-school sci-fi club with 7-Eleven gift cards or something like that?
