  1. Though Erin annoys me too, I like to think that she's a pretty nice person. I kind of wonder if production told her to really be over the top. Foodnetwork/Cooking Channel tend to go for those over the top personalities and then tells them to amp it up. This is why Paula Deen and Giada started out like humans, and then ended up as creepy automations. I guess I'm the only one here who doesn't like Bill though. His annoyance at annoyance is getting annoying. When Tara won the quicky challenge (I think it was her) he did the same eye roll as he does with Erin. I just get this, "I'm better than all of you people and not getting the praise I so richly deserve" attitude from him. Out of the group of them, I really hope Naylet gets the win. She seems like a real person with a real talent. And very nice to boot.
  2. They did a cute thing on one of the shows over the weekend. The woman wanted a pool and so they found a house with a pool (which didn't need work) and at the end Jonathan shoved Drew in the water and at the end credits they were doing an impromptu synchronized swimming routine. LOL. I had to laugh.
  3. David catered at the White House. When you get to that level, you are a professional. I was sorry to see David go too. I thought he would make it to the end. I have to say that I honestly like everyone there (except for Nancy Fuller, who can't leave my TV fast enough) it would be hard to pick ones to eliminate for me, I think. I'm actually hoping Naylet or Tara pulls it off. At first I liked Erin, but her over the top cutsieness has become pretty annoying. I'm a Christmas fanatic too, but I know not to act like an 8 year old. Regarding rolling a Yule Log vs. A stacked one, It's my understanding that either can be done. My Dad, who was a pastry chef, always rolled his, but I've seen on European cooking shows that some stack them. (In a log shape, not a stump shape). I've never seen a stump, but I think it's a great idea. However, real wood yule logs are meant to be burned, so I guess a stump wouldn't make sense. I would have had Duff either help to make/advise on the actual cake recipe. He was only allowed 10 minutes, so he couldn't have done the whole cake himself, however, he could at least have been involved. Erin made a big mistake there. I have a feeling though that maybe she wanted to prove that she's good enough to not have to fall back on someone for help for the major stuff. I get it that it may have been a point she wanted to prove. I wouldn't have had Duff make a candle, I would have had him put fondant on the cake instead. Also, where were meringue Mushrooms? Or some could have been made by cookie halve or something. Those are adorable on a yule log and really would have made the display. And I'm sorry, but a semi savory yule log with bacon? Yuk!
  4. Right now I'm wearing a gold toned down glitter (it's very fine and doesn't glint as much as regular glitter) by OPI Nicole. I've done a lacey nail stamp in turquoise over that. It's a pretty combination. :) (I've really gotten into nail stamping)
  5. Jonathan is my favorite. I like the little quirk to his smile and he seems more playful and easy going. And I guess I'm the only one who liked the highlights.
  6. I Love tWitch, so it's always great for me to see him. :) Congrats Alphonso! :)
  7. Team Julia! Though I think Arthur may win because he's aggressive in picking categories and ringing in fast. Maybe Ben will be the upset winner?
  8. So, as a life long Who Fan (started at 15, I'm 48 now) I have to say, I felt a little let down by this ending (by the whole season, actually). I was hoping for a Doctor with gravitas, not someone mean and impulsive. It's been my complaint for years (NuWho years) that the dialogue mainly consists of Shut up, Shut up and Shut up. I'm sick off it. And it will impact any future viewings of mine. Also, Moffat and others have demolished my beloved Cybermen. I think that out of all the original villains, they really dismantled them completely. It's very sad, they were my favorites. :( I miss the Cybermen hubris that we saw in Earthshock and the like. Each one had a personality, their inhibitor chips kept them from being sentimental, not completely devoid of will. Also, I was hoping that the Doctor would take on a Cyberman Danny as a companion. Ok, don't laugh! In one of the graphic novels of Doctor #8 he had a cyberman companion named Telos. Given enough time, exploring the emotions and all would have been great to develop over a season. I'm just tired of all the rushing about and the fast and insulting dialogue. I'm ready for the Doctor to be the mysterious complicated person he used to be. Someone who, after all the joking is put aside, is no one's fool and is actually quite serious and dangerous. When I do write Fan fic, I like to write that kind of doctor. And no one tells him to shut up.
  9. I miss Create too. I'm in the Northern Virginia area and got the same spiel about UK programming, blah blah. I don't give them money either now. It's really too bad, I had the TV parked on Create most of the time.
  10. I liked it. *shrugs*. I liked the main Character and the actor who plays him. I thought the story was good for an intro story. I'll stick with it. It is my cup of tea. My husband was a rabid fan of Hellblazer and talked to me a lot about it. He seemed to think it was ok. I think I liked it better than he did. I'll stick with it. And yes, I agree, the actor who plays Constantine is yummy.
  11. I hated that sugar artist in Corpse Crushers. She makes heavy hair, blames the cake guy. She doesn't make fast and easy fun snakes, it's someone else's fault. And her mouth, I'd be yelling at her to shut up. But, I have to say, the pumpkin rollercoaster car was amazing. Though I think the sugar artist on the other team was better, I have to say, I really didn't like the carnival twins. The stripes were sloppy, the faces sloppy, the only thing I like was the pumpkin face. And also, their tasting treat looked like it would send you to the dentist for extensive dental work! For me, nothing can beat that amazing artist from season one. Seasons after her seem to pale in comparison.
  12. I may actually have to check out of this show after tonight. I'm not a fan of Michaels and I'm a little bummed that he stays and Jonathan goes. Not that Jonathan is a fabulous dancer, but still, he's so much better than Michael who dances like he has no joints. I'm getting a little tired of the fan clubs always rewarding people instead of rewarding ones who dance well. I will check back in to this mess on finale night....maybe.
  13. I love this show! My favorite apparently is the My Lovely Horse one, haha. "We have to lose the Sax solo!"
  14. The one that irks me, and you see it in every episode, "the church is nice, but it's not decorated enough." Now now, some churches don't allow more than ribbons or a few flowers. Most of that stuff is out of the bride's hands. Besides, if it's a beautiful church, that speaks for itself! I remember when I was looking at venues for my wedding years ago (I ended up eloping to Jamaica instead, haha) one of the churches I wanted wouldn't allow a unity candle, or any open flame that we brought ourselves. I guess liability and insurance reasons. And bravo to whomever said here that they next expect a unity PB&J sandwich. Hahaha!
  15. Why wouldn't George craft a lightening bolt for Zeus to hold? Seems kind of simple. I felt bad for the model who flung his arm out to look like he was shooting a bolt. I was amazed when Sasha said she didn't know much about the Gods. What? Ok, so I'm not in school right now (I'm 48) and I went to a prep school in High School but we still learned about the Ancient Pantheon, at least the key players. But having said that, at 48, I make an effort to constantly try to learn things. Lately my favorite has been Prehistoric Mega Fauna (primarily elephant ancestors as well as hooved carnivores.) Maybe I'm a nerd that way, but I find it beneficial to focus on learning new things. Sasha would be well served if she picked a few subjects and read up on them, just in general. Someone is going to tell her, at a job, "make me X" and unless she has google at hand, she's going to be screwed. Couldn't she have put an owl face on an armor breast plate? Athena also is the patron Goddess of Wisdom (a wise Goddess would not have been turned to stone by Medusa's severed head) hand crafts (weaving and such) and of military valor. There are a lot ways to go here. And a lot of times she is depicted with her helmet perched on the top of her head. Sasha could have used the ill fitting helmet that way too. *slaps forehead*. Hades...not evil. Sure, he's king of the underworld but its my impression that he's a bit solemn, not ring wraithy. And this was bugging me too, No, the titans didn't get sent to some bubbly under water prison thingy....they were sent to Tartarus, a place of absolute darkness and despair. Oh, and Apollo, looked ok, though Cig made him look a bit more like Aries/Mars to me. I too was looking forward to a severed Minotaur head or hydra or chimera. Oh well.
  16. Speaking as a self proclaimed Flash Fangirl, I was happy with this show. I'm willing to keep up with it, even with a few cannon changes. :) The speed running was terrific! :) and Suit looks good too! And John Welsey Shipp! Yay!
  17. My idea of what this Doctor would be was he'd be this serious character, grumpy perhaps, but one of those who you don't talk back to. We are still having companions talking back, telling him to shut up, and treating him like he's a moron. I'm getting sick of it. When is Moffat leaving?
  18. Speaking as a plus sized person with a big butt, there is nothing with having a big butt, but you have to be self aware enough to know that said bottom isn't suitable for sitting on a car hood. Common sense!
  19. So, Jungle Wedding/food allergy bride. At first I thought she was going to be fussy, but honestly, she didn't seem so bad. Sure I get it that it felt annoying that she was always asking, but gosh, she gets sick from stuff, I would ask too if I had those allergies. She did seem very nice to the other brides and gave pretty good scores. And I LOVED the animals at the wedding! Oh my gosh, I would be all over that baby tiger. I wanted her to win. And I thought that Night Club bride was too nasty. Giving her a 3? Good grief woman, you had a wedding at a NIGHT CLUB! I wouldn't have liked that, personally. She introduced herself as a little too honest. It irks me when people use that as an excuse to be rude. Honesty shouldn't equal rudeness. Sheesh, get some manners. Football bride. Ug. I understand that it's important to her and her groom and some of her guests, but seriously, was this tail gait day or wedding day? I like football to a degree, but I probably would leave early if the wedding was only football and people yelling at the tv screen. I'm surprised they didn't spike a football instead of the kiss at the ceremony. Though I agree that Valentine bride's wedding was a little on the tacky side, she herself was such a sweetie and she was good natured and fun. She and her groom had a good time at their wedding. And the food looked amazing! And baby tiger.
  20. I'm not quite sure how some people go on this show with very little body fat and think they can survive just fine. I'm sure a lot of them have seen this show. There are long stretches of time, sometimes the whole time, where you don't eat at all. A lot of the women especially look skeletal at the end. This is an instance where a little weight is a benefit to you if you are starving. As for Honora, I liked her at first but then the rant really irked me. I chalked it up to being desperate and in mourning and it wasn't something that she would normally do. I liked the guy. He was so calm. I kind of wonder if Honor was faking a little bit with the passing out like that. It was a way to tap out without really tapping out and admitting she couldn't do it. I know she was in dire straits but it seemed a little fishy to me.
  21. Ack, I'm thinking I'm just going to record the next few shows and the finale and see who won after the fact. I really really want Derek to win and I'm not sure I can handle the suspense!
  22. Poor Christine's husband. :( He seemed like a nice guy. I hope he gets through everything and finds himself a nice nerdy girl to love who loves him back. And I'm speaking as a nerd here. And also, I've really missed someone saying to a hated evictee, "Get to steppin'" :( Booo! I would have said it to Frankie.
  23. I think that had Dina expanded a little on her idea it might have worked. More of a reindeer face, shredded and dirty elf clothes, and hooves made out to be like knives would work, along with a gaping drooling mouth and bloody eyes, and maybe some things impaled on the horns, (doll heads and other bloodied toys would work well with that) that all could have worked.
  24. You aren't kidding! And they had the nerve to be all, "Dude you are Gay!" "No, I'm not I just think he's cute, and what's wrong with being gay anyway", "GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY" and yet previews for next week show two women kissing for Truth or Dare and everyone around is all, "ooooooh yeah, woohoo!" Hypocrisy anyone? Also, poor Kari. I really do think Tyra did that to sabotage her.
  25. I agree. I find Derrek kind of cute. He's one of those who will wear his age well when he gets older. I would also like to say that I would like Frankie to leave the house as soon as possible. And on fire. That would be a great interview. :)
