Get the eff out of here. Who has to quit their job to get married?
-
Of course they are. That big, blond, trashy woman is leaving and he can go back to his normal life while waiting for the airplane ticket to Trumpland. Go have a beer, Michael, you deserve it.

"How far this love has took me." G-d almighty. Let me slit my wrists now.

How dumb can people be to fall for this garbage???

Jebus, Mary, and Joseph...

Can someone fill me in briefly - why did Darcy have what looked like a U-Haul's worth of luggage when she was just going to meet Jesse in the park and talk? I've had a couple of 'talks' in my life, none of which involved bringing all my luggage.

Are there child-related benefits in Brazil? Would they have planned on some kind of welfare or food assistance?

This guy doesn't know that many men wear wedding rings? Personally, if I wore a ring, I'd expect my husband to, as well. If he didn't want one, OK, but then, neither do I. And he's how old and never been to a wedding?

No. He wasn't holding it against them, it's just that they seemed to bring a lot of issues by time they get to their late 30's and early 40's. He dated divorcees and as a person who lost his father at 14, if someone was a widow, that was OK. He understood that. It's just a lot of them had kids and didn't want a baby at that stage of life.

Aliya jr is 41. He was married briefly to someone I'd like to kill on sight. A terrible person with issues that she hid while dating (tho her parents knew she had issues and didn't tell my son, hoping marriage would 'help' her with them). He is now dating a young woman who is 10+ years younger because he wants children. He tried dating women closer to his age, but while he actually comes with very little baggage (own home, advanced degree, good job, no kids), the women either had never been married and had been in so many bad relationships that they were train wrecks, or they had children who were practically grown. Some of the women with kids were nice enough, but weren't willing to try and have a baby when their youngest kid was 17 or they were in the prime of their career. Normally, when I look at these guys on TV, you can see where the problem is. I'm thinking of the guy with the cats and living at home with mom. But there are other issues that can make someone want a younger spouse. If you look couples in Victorian and Edwardian times, it wasn't unusual for an older man to marry a much younger woman. Actually, that was probably true through much of history. They seemed to deal with it without assuming the man had some kind of mental problem. That said, as a mom, I'm not sure that there isn't too much age between them, but, we thought the first one was a great match and that turned out horribly, so I'm gonna shut my mouth and see what happens.

Oh no! I'm watching the episodes that just became available on Prime and thought I'd visit the old boards. How terribly sad. I just looked up some news articles on this and it appears that as of August 2018, the murder was still unsolved.

I know I'm posting a few years after the fact, but these shows are on amazon prime now and I just finished watching this episode (after watching a few others). I must have missed this one the first time around. Watching the families on this show, I swear I don't understand why they cry, "You're my mom...." Really? What did mom do for you? When you've got a grown daughter with PTSD from growing up in the hoard, I don't think there was a lot of mothering going on, but darned if these adult children don't cry and moan about their hoarder parents. Some of them have cleaned up multiple times, only to have the parent hoard again. At some point, you have to cut your losses and walk away. I always enjoyed the show, but I wonder now if so much focus is on the hoarder, that none of the therapists ever say, "You done your duty. Go take a cruise and forget this POS."

Whoa - the screaming with this one! And other than Sean and his mother, are there any people on this show who don't have a retinue of relatives hanging around for every event? I can't stand it.. The mother is screaming, the ambulance people are stressed trying not to drop this idiot, and there are the little kids, hanging around gawking like kids at a public execution in the Middle Ages. Sheesh.

I have no idea if this is the case, but would it really be easier it someone were childless? I'd think Immigration would say here's a parent and child, probably only a serial killer is going to bring over a kid if s/he's not serious and a parent wouldn't want to come over with a child unless s/he planned on staying w/the American because it would be too hard to find someplace to hang, a job, feed the kid, etc. with a child. Whereas, with a single person, anything could happen, including the single person just walking off into the sunset and overstaying his/her visa. Happens all of the time.

Can someone fill me in on some details here? I started watching this show by accident and missed the beginning - 1. I looked at some videos of Darcy before the blond hair, etc. So when did she change up her appearance? It seems like she and Jesse have known/or met before? Gotta say I loved the video of her heel getting stuck in the airport escalator. Priceless. 2. Did I read that Tarik and Hazel have only known each other for TWO WEEKS before he went to the Philippines? Did they ever show any video of her talking to him via Skype or something? I'm just wondering how such a dead-looking face got anyone's attention? Was she different online? 3. Was Angela the only American who replied to Michael? It just seems that there are other women he could have met, even if they were older. It would be hard to get a worse match than Angela. 4. I've been to Amsterdam a couple of times. They've got some good looking people over there. Why would a young man, not unattractive, from a progressive country like Holland, need Darcy and her drama - especially if they have known each other awhile. Once that craziness started to emerge, I would have looked around for a local girl. 5. Can.not wait for story line with cat-man and his young 'un. 6. Do the 'before' people all turn into the 90 day story lines?

What? I go down to turn on the dishwasher and this is what happens???
-
Whoa - I've been typing and had my back to the screen. She looks HUGE! Maybe Darcy's sister is just 4'11" or something?

No place is perfect, but I will say this from a black perspective. My step-father's people moved here from the Caribbean. His mother didn't want him to go to college because she felt there was no place in America for a college-educated black man. He mowed median strips on Florida highways to get money for college - this was in the days before student loans and of course his parents couldn't help him. After college, he went into the military, served his country, and used the GI Bill for law school. He had his own practice and even argued before the Supreme Court. We lived a good life with private school and college. Is America perfect? No, but it's a damn sight better than where Michael is coming from, and if he keeps his head down, works or gets an education, who knows what kind of life he will make for himself? I'm assuming here that he and Angela are only together long enough to satisfy the government. He will have a hard time succeeding with her around his ankles.

True enough.

I work at a university. I keep thinking that I should find a way to bring Michael over as a student in our business program. : )

"Half Eddie!" Old Eddie Murphy routine about the benefits of marrying a foreign woman who didn't know who he was, then after a few years she wants a divorce and half of his money.
-
OM Freaking Lord - is Hazel dead or what? You got the golden ticket, girl. At least pretend to be excited.

What??? Also - why do people go off the deep end (literally in this case) about stuff? Rickey wasn't going to die jumping in the water. He wasn't in the middle of the ocean. There was a dock there. There were camera people. He was fine. I'm generally a heartless kinda person, but darned if babies sucking on their feet isn't just the cutest thing.

I'm a big GR fan, but he does seem to have issues with people who are different. He made fun of the young man who was short due to a kidney thing or something (I'm thinking like Garry Coleman). The 'joke' about the guy standing up wasn't funny. I just watched the series with Fernando (yes, I watch old HK's because I like to have them run in the background while I do other stuff) and GR makes fun of Fernando for looking young. Also, though he has gotten better with the vegetarian thing, I was watching a UK show where he went around India, at one point staying in a vegetarian asram. OMGoodness; he was almost rude. I know he's playing up to his reputation and for the cameras, but rude is rude, especially if vegetarianism is part of a person's religion. He seems like a good dad and is a much better person in real life than on these shows, but dang, sometimes... I wonder if he let his children talk about people with physical differences the way he does. btw - I'm not against tattoos, but some of these chefs do look dirty. What's the appeal for chefs to get so many of them?

I kinda was thinking the same thing. She is still huge. She can't do her own chub cream, how the freak is she lifting her leg up like that? If she could do that on her own, she'd have the flexibility to shave her legs and put on lotion. Lying liars who lie.
