  1. Yeah. I thought maybe I was imagining things. Obviously, the better health you are in and the better your weight if you have to have surgery, the better off you are, but Lupe wasn't 600 lbs anymore. Why she is depending on Dr Now's go ahead for hip replacement, I don't know. I've known 3 people who had hip replacement in the past 2 yrs or so. One is still very overweight and needed the replacement (she already had one) due to the wear and tear from her weight; one was average size, and the other was a bit of the fluffy grandmother type. They all got their surgery; I don't know why Lupe can't get hers. God help me, but when they do the hip replacement, maybe they can have a plastic surgeon in there to do her neck at the same time.
  2. It looks like I'm watching the show you guys are watched a few hours ago (with the skin disease, the mega cyst, and eye thing). I've barely heard of this show/doctor. I haven't seen her on YT. I'm trying to understand why these people come across the country to see her? The guy had a big cyst - wouldn't an experienced dermatologist anywhere be able to realize what was going on? The skin condition seemed bad, and I realize she hadn't gotten much help, but I wonder if she'd gone to a research hospital? The eye thing - why not go to a local eye surgeon? Even if you had to travel to the big hospital in your state, it seems it would be easier than going to California for a dermatologist. I admit I may be spoiled working at a research university and auditing human subjects research. I do see the top practitioners in their fields, but dang, there are excellent doctors around the country. I don't think I'd travel as these people have to get a cyst removed from my eye (nor would I have let it get that big before seeing somebody, but that's me). Can anyone tell me what Dr Lee's 'draw' is? Why do these people bypass the research facilities and specialists closer to home? For the show, are they getting their surgery paid for? I'm only watching because I was too lazy to turn the channel and got mesmerized by the guy's leg bump and wanted to see what it was. I see a lot of stuff in my job, but I had to throw my hands over my face with that one. Jeez Louise!
  3. Watching a repeat - I didn't remember her shower scene. When you see her stomach you really get an idea of how big she is. Maybe it's just me, but the long shirts and skirts hide a lot. You don't see the physical-ness of her obesity. She must have been miserable. I'm so glad she took things seriously and has had a happy ending.
  4. Sean? I may have to catch Gordon on YT the next day.
  5. Whoa - I'm glad Brittani likes her legs, but they still look 'difficult' to me. Man, all these operations on these folks, obviously no one thinks of this when they are pounding back pizzas by the box, but dang. Nothing looks perfect and there's got to be a lot of pain.
  6. Not really. I'm pretty sure I've said it a few times myself. : )
  7. Yup. This is the kind of thing headlines are made of... "And in other news, a domestic dispute resulted in the deaths of 3 people in Houston tonight..."
  8. I wondered about that when she said he'd move to Houston with her.
  9. Chicken fingers w/mac & cheese? No wonder she gained weight! And, does the new boyfriend have a tattoo on the back of his head? How much did that have to hurt?
  10. Oh my freakin' lord. I'm on a college campus. I've seen all kinds of hair. I have never seen anyone with 2 different colors of hair like Lupe's cousin. Jeez Louise. It just shouts, "Look at me! Look at me! Look at me!" And then they get mad if you stare.
  11. They must be reading this board - the camera specifically focused on Dr Now's assistant smiling after the weigh-in!
  12. Hey pounders! How's your eating habit? Mine is vegan sausage w/peppers and homemade coleslaw.
  13. Does anyone here have truck knowledge? Any idea how much GR's truck probably cost?
  14. I am so going to be Debbie Downer here, but I feel impressed to say something about the overall humor. I live in a college town in a rural state. Many of my students, and not a few of my co-workers, either grew up on a farm, currently live on a farm, or the grandparents are still running the family farm. There are farmers at my church. There are farms probably not 7 minutes from me and my cute little townhouse. I see guys in overalls in the Walmart, at the bank, in the grocery. These guys are growing food for the nation. I don't make fun of them (and yes there is farm humor) because of what they wear. This isn't a knock on anybody who thinks Ashley's husband probably needs to find something else to wear (especially since he's a truck driver, right?), just a small rant from an east coast city girl who learned a thing or two when she left the city behind. America Needs Farmers ps - Junior Samples? That's a trip down memory lane.
  15. These people are always so 'stressed,' I don't understand it. They do nothing. Other people wait on them. Sometimes other people have to change their diaper or clean them. Odd that stress never causes them to get more organized, to plan their meals (so they can think about the things that are stressing them out and not about food), etc. No. Stress always causes a trip to KFC.
  16. I just looked up 'weeaboo.' I thought it was a mistake on your cell phone or something. : )
  17. Hmm. I guess it's not just the pupil that makes it look strange to me. It's the whiteness of the sclera, the bigness, and the eyes seeming so far apart. It also seems like she has a flat or missing nose bridge, like the anime cartoons. I hope girlfriend realizes that in another 5 years no one wants a woman (and I use the term loosely here) who does that to herself. It's not feminine, it's not appealing, and it doesn't make me want to hire you to do more than sell popcorn in the movie theater. As a professor who frequently had grad students with all kinds of hair color, I couldn't take a grad student seriously who looked like this. Shoot, I couldn't take an undergrad seriously who did this.
  18. What is with her eyes? Is that the camera or did is there surgery to make them look that big?
  19. I'm not usually tempted to eat over the sink (I like to sit in front of the computer, also not good, but at least I use a plate), I always think of the Supremes' song lyrics, "Out of the pot she ate, never used a fork or a dinner plate" ('I'm Living in Shame') and get myself together. Works for me.
  20. It's a boss thing, in this instance. The cooks were all on equal footing, so they wouldn't call each other 'Miss.' I let children at church call me 'Miss Aliya,' but not just by my first name because, well, gee, I'm the adult and they aren't.
  21. Good point. I can't believe they were paying the incompetent chef 90K. I bet those black cooks weren't getting anywhere near that. I hope they gave Nicole a raise. I'm constantly amazed by the owners who know their chefs are killing them, but are afraid to fire them. The customers aren't coming, but you're afraid to get a new chef. btw owners - walk around your kitchens sometimes and stop leaving the cleanliness to the discretion of the chef 'cause obviously some of these folks could care less about poisoning your customers. Jeez.
  22. 'Night. Ramsay won out over these two tonight.
