I can give Derick a pass on not wanting to reveal all of his financial information. He's not on a tv show telling everyone that he "buys used and saves the difference." He also hasn't been selling people on an unsustainable lifestyle to puff up his ego while his own children suffer. If they got some kind of reimbursement for the years Jill was on the show, good for them. I'm glad they seem to live a reasonable lifestyle and aren't out blowing it on fountain pens, trendy cafes, and pocket squares.

Of course, I'm sorry the reason was because Ellie got sick, but I believe had she been spayed in the first place, none of it would have happened.

I'm giving Tim the benefit of the doubt on his condescending tone. Remember he's really only been exposed to Jill's attitude and way of expressing things. She calls her sister "severely crippled." I think the attitude he's trying to express is that he likes helping people and seems to care for them. Hopefully I am right on that and if he enjoys it, maybe he can find an actual career there. Of course, I do worry that he might be talking all about Jesus to the clients, which, if I had dementia would be the definition of a living hell.

Good for your daughter!! I used to do the same for my son when he asked. He's 35 now married with a child and he's a good man. People get way too wound up about little things like this. Kids need to explore and sometimes they just want to do what the adults around them are doing.
