Clay definitely said he needed a hug.

Small Talk: Lettuce Turnip On Thyme For Chat

I'm kind of embarrassed how much I like the trendy foods! (Trendy as of a couple of years ago, at least.) Literally one of my favorite summer dinners is kale cooked with bacon, with a poached egg on top. -
I got Da'Vonne. OK!

YES. I feel like it' s been years since there was someone actively, publicly, going against the main faction of the house. I basically respect Shelli for running the house and pretending she isn't, but saying she ("they") had nothing do with Jason's eviction? Such bullshit. I wonder if Vanessa and the twins could get anything going?

And how offensive to have Jim play the model. This show is so gross! I can't stop watching! -
I got pretty far from the clue, but still would have guessed Arizona Cardinals. Which turns out to be the football team. But there is a baseball cardinals!

Ah -- good to know!

Especially when I had just seen in the Wheel of Fortune show prior that they have a $2K minimum per puzzle.

Depends on what the sauce is for, I think -- would you agree that Frank's Red Hot and butter don't make a sauce? I'm not saying buffalo wings aren't frat boy cooking, but they are delicious! -
He ended up in an elevator one time with Bill Clinton, and Clinton asked him where he got his ice cream. He ended with "And that was the end of my brief career as a presidential advisor." It was the kind of thing that is not actually that much of a story, but he told it well.

Thinking about it, I think Alex screwed up the anecdote/story -- it's not that he has three brothers that's the "interesting fact," it's the names. He just asks the wrong question sometimes. CAN anyone explain the My Little Pony category??

I think with ten minutes of coaching and a couple more takes, she could have come up with a thing that makes sense. I think her actual POV is "from Zimbabwe, lives in Brooklyn," so she's adding an African twist to your old favorites, or interpreting the food of her childhood with ingredients you can get at your local supermarket. It just doesn't seem that hard to figure out from here, and I wish they had people telling them these things! I guess I miss the coaches.

Arnold didn't explain it clearly, but I really like the idea of a recipe that can be easily converted from a meal to an hors d'oeuvre. I think that's what he was saying -- you can make this same proportion into 4 mains or 20 bites. (Obviously, that would not feed the 20 people!) But I like to have cocktail party food for a meal anytime, so maybe I am just his target market.

S01.E13: Andy Cohen vs. Willie Geist
Jesse replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Lip Sync Battle [V]
LL was the best part of "I Need Love" EXCEPT for the part where Willie was even doing LL's accent, not just the words to the song. That was brilliant. -
BTW, I now apologize to everyone I've ever judged for having irrationally strong opinions about contestants I liked or thought were fine.

I'm mad that Icelandic Airlines was an acceptable answer. We were so close to a new champ!! I wonder, does Icelandair advertise much outside of the northeast? I am actually in Boston, and they have a pretty strong presence.

Exactly!

Does it count if they aren't both straight? Alison and Felix from Orphan Black! Fee and any of the clones, really.

Oh, I forgot that was her actual job! It was just my stereotype for a low-paid, well-educated person! Heh. And of course he is winning fair and square against worthy opponents, and I would hate for Jeopardy to turn into Chopped/Queen for a Day, but still.

Anne-Marie was great! I wish she had done better. And I REALLY wish the woman in the middle had won, as I am growing to really hate Scott, as all of his stories are about being rich. I was already getting there when his 50th birthday celebration cost more than the $55K he has won to that point, and then the thing about his house being previously owned by Hollywood stars? Ugh. I know it's not a need-based game, but it just makes me want him to get out of there and let a nice editorial assistant get some of that J! money!

I thought the Wackstreet Boys bit was funny -- but definitely given too much airtime -- if only because it gave Johnny Mac the best line of the show. As noted in the recap.

A cute story from yesterday's Boston Globe about trying out for Jeopardy: http://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/2015/07/20/take-out-league-for-alex/Liia88Ueq2MawhZx6FYLhJ/story.html#Sounds like the contestant recruiter must have been THRILLED with Jennifer Morrow:

I feel like I've heard/read that once you've "made it" a little bit, it's common to re-do your own kitchen/buy a house that is more suitable for a set, because all of the reno is tax-deductible as a business expense, aside from being able to work at home.
