I'm kind of fascinated that it looks like Austin, Liz, and Julia are essentially taking time off from the game, but why isn't Julia talking more to other people? I can only hope they are at least having non-game conversations, and she's not literally just sitting around watching Liz and Austin.

Yeah, the board hopping is the only thing I don't like about Arthur. Especially since I've been reading his writing! (But this is what I meant when I hated that champ last month and realized how other people feel about other contestants! Everything he did made me hate him more and more.)

Possibly my favorite thing from any episode of FNS ever was Paula Deen talking about Gordon Elliot teaching her to take "princess bites" so she could eat and then talk.

"Cheat Day" feels to me like a nice "modern" way to package the kind of classic cooking show with no real culinary theme -- when he makes something healthy, it's a program day,but he's not locked into Healthy Cooking as his theme.

I like to wall off Young Mel Gibson from Current Mel Gibson, because he was just so beautiful I can't stand to think about it.

It's been 30 years! Mostly I think they look OK for human people.

I have to renew my complaint about what a jumble this show is -- Is it is a serious cooking competition? Then giving 45 minutes to cook "the dish of a lifetime" is ridiculous. Is it about preparing people for a cooking show? Then they need more "talk about the food" type challenges. Is it mostly about hosting the kind of shows FN wants? Then why so much emphasis on how the food tastes throughout? I know it is actually just designed for the best ratings for this specific show, but STILL.

As a woman of a certain age, that volleyball scene from Top Gun was whispered about in school until we were able to talk someone's parents into renting the video for us at a sleepover.

That makes me crazy! I don't believe in the Secret or any of that bullshit, but shouldn't you at least act like winning might be your goal for being there?? Is anyone in that house playing to win? Steve might come from behind and take it after all!
