So Angela and Nyla chasing a potential serial killer decide to go into an abandoned building by themselves instead of waiting for the back-up they called for was just dumb and bone-headed. They better hope for their sakes' the crime scene folks and other cops are able to pick-up his trail (not sure if Nyla actually winged him or not). So some big bad leaves his car doors unlocked so Bailey can get the jump on him? Enough with the super Bailey nonsense. And if she were to take him up on his offer and her ex gets taken out, how long before Nolan finds out and this adds more drama to their relationship? Please show, let's not go there. Lucy is suspicious of her boot. No matter how much Tim assured her of background checks, she'll probably do some digging and I don't actually blame her. Wesley needs to get over himself. It was nice to see Hannah from NCIS: NO potentially causing friction in the DA's office.

I could care less about Clara and Max or Oskar and Therese. I think all parties would be better off with other folks. I'm more annoyed that this whole thing was a set-up for the start of WWI. I give credit for making the casino owner the big bad though shoehorning in past characters seems lazy.

I believe she has a facebook page and IG, whitney thomas or chef whitney thomas.

I was also glad to see the back of Whit. Her saying she'd only blew up one time in the kitchen had me laughing. I was like, girl, you have blown up multiple times. And yes, being rude to Gordan and thinking she was preordained to win (I have a POV and the rest of you don't). Go take your POV back to your own place where you can be you. Egypt talked a bit too much during the challenge. The folks at the table didn't need his life story. That said, he's probably the favorite going into the finale. I like Hannah and she'd be a good winner as well. Kyle seems to be a good cook and he did well at the pass but him wanting to be the star does not coincide with running a Ramsey kitchen.

And so it begins... Enough with the Bailey drama and just catch this Jason already (and agree about the blonde possibly being a scout for Wyler). And yes, is Nolan going to be reprimanded for his stunt? Could care less about the Lucy, Tim, Rachel drama this show wants to start up. I've accepted that at some point TPTB are going to put Tim and Lucy together even though not all of us like them as a couple. The Wesley thing, don't care about. Ditto with James. The rookies are grating. Get back to the cases and stop forcing the personal drama front and center.

That would seem to be true of real-life fire fighters as well.

I laughed at Nyla ducking out the window to go to Angela and Wesley's. Texas rookie in the trailer park with Smitty could possibly lead to laughs or disaster. Does this mean he can drive his car to work now? I don't even understand how a rookie with cancer isn't an automatic dismissal. I suppose until his results are in, nothing could be done about removing him and we know Lucy's probably going to keep her mouth shut for the time being. Glad Selena passed her rookie final. The horror on Nolan's face when she pulled out the crystal and put it on the dash was amusing. Not looking forward to the upcoming Bailey drama.

All I could think of was please don't let us see Monica again, enough with Wesley's jealously, please let them hurry up and find Hutchinson and Wyler because I'm not interested in Nolan being worried about Bailey. As for the rookies, meh.

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards (2025)
milkyaqua replied to BetterButter's topic in The Golden Globe Awards
Didn't watch this but did hear Nikki's opening. I know of at least some blogs that were looking for uncomfortable shots of celebs when she went into her Diddy comments. Happy for Demi and she looked lovely. There's been chatter about Ariana Grande possibly being involved in an Audrey Hepburn pic (since the one with Rooney Mara fell through) so maybe she's trying to go for that but she needs a new style rethink especially make-up wise because she just looks grey. Pam Anderson doesn't need a lot of makeup but even a fuller brow would work on her and some primary colors (she looked good in the Variety article). As soon as I saw Zendaya I knew she and Law Roach were doing an homage to Dorothy Dandridge and turns out that was correct but also giving props to others who went before like Diahann Carroll, Eartha Kitt, Joyce Bryant, Zelda Wynn Valdes, etc. -
I was totally fine with Ann Marie leaving but I am a little surprised about Joe. Though I suspected two were going home when he had the teams choose two from each to send up. Probably because we there are probably only a couple more eps left to go. Kyle was even more annoying than his usual. Didn't appreciate Whit throwing a small tantrum over the baking punishment. Amanda and Brandon I'm meh on, moreso Amanda.

I did enjoy the show for the most part especially Cher and Dionne Warwick. I can't believe it has taken the HOF so long to induct pretty much every nominee though I could do without Dave Mathews (who I turned off when they mentioned Julia Roberts doing their induction). I also found it funny that they had Cyndi Lauper doing a plug for the museum yet she hasn't been inducted (instead they inducted Sheryl Crow but I'm not that salty, rolling eyes).

Re: VP choices, hasn't it always been said that the JFK team chose Johnson as running mate because it was the only way they'd get the Southern vote and win?
-
Not surprised Adjo won but I also wonder what exactly are the criteria for winning and why didn't we the judges deliberate over the three finalists and their dishes throughout the series or did they just focus on the final challenge? Also, pretty much every finalist got called out about something not being quite right with their dish. So did Adjo win because she was smart enough to redo a dish and nail it when it most counted? If they were focusing on overall performance, how do they give Adjo the win when as said by other throughout the weeks, she used plaintains in practically all of her dishes? As for her cuisine being more interesting, sure, as a country the US isn't all that adventurous when the subject of food from Africa comes up so I can see it from that standpoint. This is the third series I've watched and once again it all feels arbitrary. There are changes some have been asking for since the start but obviously TPTB don't care about those concerns and are fine with things the way they are. It all seems like a waste of time.
-
Also not surprised by the three choices. Glad Ajoh finally got her shrimp right, lol. I don't know what the fascination was for folks cooking shrimp so early. They don't take long to cook. I'll be fine with any of them winning. I still wish this show would make it a little harder and have the contestants all cook the same type food for a few of the challenges. Ugh.

I've maybe only seen one cooking show where chili rellenos didn't have the fluffy egg white coating. I was glad Jon had a good showing though. I'd heard of the strawberry pretzel dessert before. There are lots of regional desserts with ingredients that folks wouldn't think went together. Ajoh once again misses the timing on a dish. When she dropped that pasta at the start (and granted who knows how the actual time is being shown on these shows) I knew the judges were going to ding her and even though some folks don't like their shrimp barely cooked, no way were the judges going to appreciate rubbery overcooked ones.

The thing with cornbread dressing is that it doesn't have to be sweet. Some Southerners are very adamant that cornbread should not have sugar as that's some Yankee thing. As to fried whole fish, Chinese restaurants are good about doing whole fish in different ways including fried. And agree, I'm over Adjo sticking plantains in every dish no matter how many different ways she can do them. Jon constantly is getting called out about salt. Not sure why Doug would think several different types of mushy beans was a good idea. And by now they all should know if they have some main ingredient (Kim) the judges want that seasoned individually. I still want a cook a similar dish challenge but I know I'm just wishing.

LSSC: Season Nine Episode Talk
milkyaqua replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Late Show With Stephen Colbert
Sigh. It might hurt worse if anyone looked up project 2025. -
Yes, to your post. And I'm still annoyed that we can't get at least one episode where everyone has to put their spin on the same type of dish (eveyone has to bake a cake or make a stew or make a jello mold, or whatever). This show could be so much more interesting if they did that.
-
Yes, that's been obvious from the first season on pretty much any of these competitive cooking shows. I guess this one wasn't that exciting since I totally forgot to check this thread yesterday.
-
The new judges seem okay and the contestants seem okay but I wish some of the challenges could at least have the contestants cooking the same type of dish with their own spin instead of eight entirely different dishes. Ugh. Also, for some reason the only thing I took from this epi was the Alaskan cook not doing a quick pickle on her veg for the bahn mi.

S11.E13 : One Mask Takes It All (Finale)
milkyaqua replied to Bookworm13's topic in The Masked Singer
Well that was anti-climatic but congratulations to the winner. Didn't appreciate Goldfish's performance of the first song (it's like she knew she was going to win so why try). Gumball is certainly fond of 70's rock. See everybody next time. -
Oh now there you go looking for logic. I pretty much expect that TPTB are going to treat the audience as a bunch of maroons no matter the show/movie.
-
Oh geez, so when Monica pops up again she's going to be an international woman of crime? Seriously show, why didn't you just kill her, ugh! Now we have Bailey's ex and Oscar running around. At least Nolan and Bailey got a warning this time. Also, it would probably be a good idea to wait on a kid until after both those loons are back in prison. I did appreciate Thorson telling the doctor to stuff it. We won't even go into the silliness of Nolan and Harper going to Argentina, going rogue and being back in time for the wrap-up. I'd wish for better next season but that would entail some type of miracle.

That was a lot and yes, when Will was arresting Angie I thought, "But what about Amanda?" And of course Crystal was the killer. I was glad when Will told her she was the one responsible for the mess with her daughter. I was annoyed when he apologized to her and no, I can't see her doing the right thing and admitting she brought a loser into her home with her daughter and didn't believe Crystal about any of her trauma. I'm also with Ormewood when it comes to the custody fight. Also, he knew what Angie did, so how does this impact him? I don't see Angie dragging him into it. As for Faith and her boyfriend, with this show you just know he can't be without his issues. I do hope with a full season we won't have so much darkness on top of darkness.

I agree with this. Serena was lucky to have dodged that bullet. Why TPTB thought that Josh and Allie were that compelling was beyond me. I wouldn't mind Max, Beau, Serena and Chris popping up on the new version. And yes, what was up with all the medical examiners. The twins can sail off to oblivion and take Penny with them.
