  1. So I guess next week we'll find out who the finalists are. Which will be good, I guess. I still wish this show would follow a traditional cooking competition show instead of all of these random dishes. Between the judges and all of their, I can feel your soul and all of the crying contestants, it's overkill. They could tweak this show without much effort.
  2. I don't recall Ramsey being this nasty on his UK shows. It's just got to be some schtick that got pulled out for his US shows. Why, I have no idea. I watched enough of the show to see Brynn of team pork chop try and talk over Ramsey and friends and then go back and tell them to cook the chops to 130 and then I was out. And JB is still his usual obnoxious self.
  3. Ugh, why all this mishmash of recipes?! Building a competition around "themes" like holiday dishes or dishes that give you warm fuzzies is not an actual fair way to base a competition. How would you break up this into categories in a book. That holiday challenge included three or four desserts if you include the sweet potato casserole and the rest were savory. Will there be a dessert chapter and a sides chapter and a mains chapter or what? I can't believe this forum is the only one complaining about this format.
  4. I think Lance and Ariel both have issues as far as this competition goes. But it does seem some of the males have easily bruised egos. I wonder how long it will be until one of the newer additions is voted base commander. So long Ashley (I'm amazed at all the makeup some of the contestants brought with them).
  5. Yes, I was hoping over the past few episodes that he'd get his but probably not so final... Of course, that put his cohort on a vendetta path.
  6. I was fine with the ending and as others have said, Red went out on his own terms. I do remember going, "that was strange (or different)," but okay show. I also thought it was fitting that Ressler found him but of course only after failing to fully search villa lobo in the first place and I also liked that he insisted on going with the group when Dembe was taken into custody. I was also fine with not having questions answered that I never really cared about in the first place. The premise of this show in the first place called for suspension of belief. I'm glad the show did call backs to former Red supporting players and I was definitely glad that Dembe survived and I also enjoyed his final scenes. And while he's no longer part of the FBI per the AG, I'm wondering what about the rest of the team? And Mr. FBI holier-than-thou agent can go take a flying leap. It's definitely been fun reading all the comments and snark about the show and that'll be missed. I wish Mr. Spader and the rest of the cast well in future products.
  7. I agree with this but it was obviously going to push buttons and unfortunately as you said, nowadays it's a lot hard to express an opinion and have a civil conversation about it without someone feeling attacked. It's pretty much what's been going on in local/federal governments for the past few decades. Nothing good is coming to come out of any of this unless people can learn to turn the volume down and hear each other out before pouncing.
  8. Someone definitely doesn't know how to read the room. Even though there are folks who have expressed that same opinion and you're locked up for who knows how long with a group of people, you should probably have enough sense to know what subjects are safer to talk about.
  9. I've heard of Andy Richter because of the Conan O'Brien show and I believe he also had his own show. I've heard of Cat Cora as well but I don't follow any of the bachelor/bachelorette stuff and I'm not all that familiar with sports stars who aren't from my local teams or just so famous that almost everyone knows who they are.
  10. Not sure how the new folks will gel with the current group but it'll be interesting at least for an epi or two. Adam and Portia did act a bit silly during the mission but since it was successful I guess that's moot. I didn't really appreciate them teasing the group about a possible elimination. Ariel is not making friends with the new guy so we'll see how that goes. Oh, lookie we got a bachlorette, geez.
  11. This one was a little better than last week but not by much. I did like they all had to do a dessert but otherwise, meh. It would be so easy to fix the issues with this show but I guess TPTB don't care to do so.
  12. So now Hudson is trying to find out who tipped off Red at the airport. Um, because the tower didn't announce that all planes were grounded? How is that not a clue something is up? And I'm with Weecha on the flying on a bomb all the time. Ugh, I'm still waiting for Hudson to get his... It was nice seeing Dan Butler as the AG. I wonder what happens to Cynthia in all of this? And of course Red is the last name/#1 on the list. I figured Pritchard wouldn't survive but I did feel bad for Ressler finding him though I don't understand why he didn't (or maybe he did) inform the wife about what had happened. On to the finale.
  13. And we're back... I thought after last week when they all had to do something with pasta we'd get similar challenges but nope. Ugh! Why is this so hard for this show to get right? Pretty much every food competition show has folks cook if not the same dish, then at least the same type of dish. That's all this show needs to do but no, we get everyone making dishes for the people they love or that's comfort food or whatever. How are you supposed to be able to fairly judge how these folks do if they aren't even cooking a semblance of the same thing? The top two dishes were criticized during judging for flaws yet based on what the viewers were shown, we didn't hear that critique when they announced the final results. As said upthread, someone should have gone home this week as nearly every dish got dinged in one way or the other. I've just accepted that for some reason this has to be a cryfest for the contestants and the judges but if someone messed up a dish, then send them home.
  14. Den of Geek has an entire list of possible meanings behind it. But short of TPTB saying what it was, we may never know.
  15. Heh, I figured I wouldn't have been the only one waiting for that to happen, lol. Even though Red is using the FBI to dismantle his empire and incriminate themselves in the process, I still can't believe he'd want to have Harold, Dembe and the rest possibly get locked up since Hudson now has them on this recording. Also, how does Red not know that Hudson is still on his crusade (or does he and he really is just going to let the team be arrested and put on death row)? And yes, letting someone use your work phone was bone-headed but that's Ressler for you especially since the feds do have security awareness training (though they don't seem to enforce it when it comes to Congress). So is Ressler's friend going to drop dead from an overdose while at their AA meeting? And how convenient to have a "blind spot" in the Capital bldg and what sort of tech was being used that it wouldn't have been picked up on a sweep? No one noticed anything out of the ordinary? I really want Hudson to be dealt with and not in a kind way...
  16. I liked Natasha as well but physical stuff in the suits really didn't seem to suit her and once someone self eliminates, it's time for them to go. I'm curious about the new people as well though I hope TPTB don't pull a fast one and have some of the already eliminated people back in the mix.
  17. The lady from Hawaii is annoying me with her constant mahalos. I'm wondering when they'll start eliminating folks. It's easy to armchair quarterback but some of these folks really need to get their time management in order.
  18. And it still ties into Liz... So, it'll be Liz who brings the task force down...how charming. I doubt that since the bride-to-be was arrested. And of course Red would find Agnes' recital more important than his own health. I did like the rest of the team out in the field being useful except for Ressler (though I see Diego directed so maybe it was too much for him to actually be out in the field though that never goes that well usually anyway). At least we seem to be getting some traction leading up to the finale and not so much Red doing what ever it is Red has been doing this past several filler episodes. We actually got a blacklister this time.
  19. Pretty much what Steven Raichlen has said about ribs that fall off the bone. He says they should have some chew and that's why we have teeth. Agree with this. Let's see if they can get through the season without making the finalists that obvious.
  20. I agree and he probably would have gone had Richard not self-eliminated.
  21. They seem to be going down the same rabbit hole as last time. There's got to be a way to do this so it's more fair across the board. I'll be curious to see what happens on the second epi since they've kept all the cooks. I really want them to have everyone do challenges where they are using the same type of ingredients (tweaked to respect any dietary or religious needs). That would be a better gauge. Doing it the way they did last season is too random.
  22. Yes, the task force doesn't seem to be doing much arresting of folks nowadays. I'm almost inclined to agree with the congressman. So it's going to be Dembe being an FBI agent that takes the task force down? I still don't buy that Red will let the task force get hung out to dry especially Dembe or Cooper (for Agnes' sake). Red has already had to tap dance out of being called a snitch for the FBI before I can't imagine what would happen if the congressman does indeed out him as the FBI's big squealer while he's planning his retirement with Weecha... Red has a funny way of dissolving businesses but I guess it was easier having the task force take his organization down than it would have been to just walk away from it and let them fight it out amongst themselves? At least the folks got a party out of it (though Red does seem to have given them and the others a severance package). The finale really better be worth it after all this filler (though we did get a little movement on what the ending is headed towards this epi).
  23. Which makes no sense. Why didn't the TPTB just negotiate with the network for a half season? Instead you have a chunk of the season dumped in the summer season which is usually dead for network tv unless you count all the game shows and talent shows and it's not because the show doesn't have enough for syndication purposes... They'd have been better off doing fewer eps and making a tighter season to wrap up without all this filler and burn off which can't be getting NBC any decent ratings and is expecting a lot of the remaining audience.
  24. So basically all these cases to lead to Blair Foster? Why does Red have to be so roundabout?
  25. So Blair Foster is going to feed information to the congressman for what in return? Well, I hope he enjoys being beholden to her... Again with Weecha? Obviously Red seems to be setting himself up to retire/sail into the sunset but is he really going to let an upstart congressman and Foster take down the task force? Even if he's getting ready to go, I can't believe he'd leave Cooper (who's looking after Agnes) out to dry or Dembe or any of the others for that matter.
