  1. I was fine with Nina. I especially had no issue with her addressing Remy's question about Kristin's departure. I also think she fits in better with the current team dynamic. Of course Remy didn't taking the doctor's advice because he knows better (insert eyeroll here). I do hope this storyline doesn't take up too much space but it would nice if at some point the two could have some sort of relationship.
  2. I've given up on "time" as a real thing when tv/movies are involved. I can see wanting to keep things contained and on a need to know basis but still that doesn't fit in with how things would work in real life but it's fine for entertainment and expecting the audience to not ask questions.
  3. I do hope we're done with the Nick drama because it always sucks the oxygen out of the room/episode. Next week definitely looks like it will be heavy.
  4. Agree about the in memoriam segment being shoddy but I did figure out when they made an announcement during one of the commercial breaks that it would feature several artists which led me to thinking that it would pretty much be what it wound up being. The Grammys have a history of missing out on awarding people when they should and have for decades. In that regard, they're like pretty much every other major award show. For something that bills itself as being based on excellence and artistry, it really is top 40 mainly. Not that there's anything wrong with that but at least admit it and move on. By the same token, you're never going to make everyone happy.
  5. I figured Sammi was first out when I saw the scores for the third round as I was flipping back and forth on this for the whole two hours. Agree about the leadership and team development. It seemed obvious that Ryan had a better grasp of this. Even if he did annoy me yelling at Jason about the chicken for the final table. Johnathan took longer to correct mistakes/weaknesses within his team. I'm fine with Ryan winning as he does seem to be more well rounded for what GR wants. I also agree that several of the chefs from this season could wind up working in some GR establishment as that's something he seems to do.
  6. Yes, Carmen wasn't my favorite but Ryan should have probably been eliminated and agree, I don't need to hear Johnathan making rude remarks about how Gordon makes him feel. I'm guess I'm pulling for Sammi but I get the feeling she'll the first one out next epi.
  7. Agree with what others have said. Those elims made no sense. Johnathan should have gone along with Carmen. I guess Ryan for the win? Though none of the remaining chefs is all that appealing.
  8. Finally, Jason is gone. Gone and still in denial about how his three dishes were the best. I'm glad six jackets were given out though I agree it was a little surprising that Carmen received one. I definitely thought Ryan deserved one so an extra is fine since it would make sense for a double elimination to be coming along.
  9. Eh, she sang it at the special for Willie's 90th birthday celebration/concert and agree she wouldn't have been my choice. I'm more interested in when Willie and Dave Matthews became friends.
  10. Speaking of the biography portion, the one I thought was really incomplete was Renee Fleming. I mean, what drives a child to want to be an opera diva? Yes, I can google it, but it would have been nice to see that.
  11. Ditto not being a Buble fan and it's kind of hard to top the version of this song by Al Green.
  12. ABC is going to air the 2023 induction on Mon, New Year's Day at 8:00.
  13. Adding to the, there had to be a better way to end the Barry Gibb tribute. It was sort of a let down after the other performers. Was also wondering where Patti Labelle was for the Dionne Warwick tribute. I thought at one point she, Gladys and Patti were pretty close. Not to say that other things couldn't have gotten in the way but I thought it was odd. I also miss the biography portion of the show for each honoree though. Some seemed more lacking than others. I also didn't understand Gloria Estefan opening the show though it does seem as though the producers are trying to change things up probably to broaden the appeal of the show but this show has pretty much been consistent ratings-wise so I'm not sure if this helped in that regard.
  14. As soon as they went to the voting I was saying they can just hurry up and vote Sea Queen off first since only people who aren't familiar with her, don't know it's Macy Gray. I figured Gazelle would be next and it would be down to Donut and Cow especially with Donut's sob story. I do hope Neyo isn't trying to be Nick Cannon 2.
  15. I've always felt that way about singers. When my mom was in the choir she smoked and so did other members. I've never understood how anyone who sings, amateur or professional justifies smoking.
  16. Sounds like I didn't miss much (I was out and got back in time to see the end of dinner service). But why is Jason still there?! Ugh, how much drama does a show need?
  17. Hah! This so much. I loved his reaction when the chef called out his pasta. It's like he was stunned someone could find fault with it. I figured Atoye was going. I never expected her to get to the end. I was little surprised by Carmen though. She's full of herself as well but I didn't expect her to express her self doubt like that. Donya's looking shaky so who knows.
  18. This! Like how many folks partied with Alan Thicke, lol? I was expecting Macy Gray to go but whatever show.
  19. The rare times I've seen fresh butter made, I've never seen ice as a part of it. I'm neutral on Christina laughing at them. Jason does seem less obnoxious but I doubt that will last long. Yes, Sandra going probably was due to her self-eliminating in a way but she'd also been in the bottom several times so I'd have been surprised if she got much further. Donya OTOH needs to get a grip though. I get they all have their breaking points but some of them seem a bit more high strung. Also, if the idea of celebs includes youtube and IG influencers the pickings are mighty slim.
  20. I figured Gazelle would be saved. I like her but she's a little too fond of adding runs when she sings. As for Cow, agree that his Ring My Bell could have easily added the second verse of the song to be more even but I'm okay with him going through. I figured they would send them both on through after eliminating S'More which I was fine with. I barely remember hearing of O Town.
  21. There was guest hosts like Joan Rivers, David Brenner, Letterman, Joey Bishop, Bob Newhart, etc. I seem to recall when Letterman was away one time that Elvis Costello hosted.
  22. Yes, though I seem to remember that was the same case in the first season. And yes, figured Sandoval would get booted but give JoJo credit for lasting as long as she did. The babies crying was, ugh!
  23. Perhaps but I still didn't think it was that odd. I mean I know people make horseradish sauce to serve with prime rib but maybe that was just me, lol.
  24. I didn't understand that either. As little as I know about Indian food, I'm pretty sure the two aren't the same so I didn't understand why he wasn't called out on it. Agree with, how the heck was Sandra the last person left in the kitchen? Huh? Also, Carmen is still annoying and wasn't she the one that messed up Atoye's dish? I'm glad that Dahmere was able to talk her down after her meltdown. As for the elim challenge, Jason may know how to cook but he's still annoying and that more than anything is why his team put him up but of course he thinks it's because he's such a threat in the kitchen. He truly is delusional. I wasn't exactly sure why Gordon thought Sandra serving mushrooms with a steak was so strange regardless of what it was called. I've never been to a steak house and been served a sliced steak unless it was one of those big 22 oz meant to be shared steaks. Devon was on borrowed time but I was sorry to see him go. And yes, what is up with these lame challenge prizes?
  25. I was glad the women finally won a challenge even if it was sort of lame. Jason is still a tool. Jermaine going home was pretty obvious especially messing up on side dishes. Devon seemed a bit rattled after the elim so I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Sandra OTOH always seems rattled. She seems to know what she's doing cook-wise but gets easily thrown off and as many times as she's been put up for elimination, she's definitely not making it to the end. I'm pulling for Dahmere but like others, I hope this isn't a set-up for him to have a spectacular fall.
