Paul & Karine: These Condoms Ain't For Sexin'
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
I keep seeing stuff about how Karine is a "bad person too." Yeah, well, complete assholes can get abused, too. Still doesn't make it right or okay. -
Deavan & Jihoon: 21st Century Super Sperm

At the end of the episode they said that Jihoon had rented them a new place. -

Whatever dog food he bought aside, I'm pissed at seeing them live in a cage. We take in cats and kittens for an animal rescue (we have 21 right now...). We also have 5 dogs, but we live on a farm with a lot of acreage and fenced in areas. Those were two big dogs who are likely going to be spending most of their lives in those cages. When do they get to run around? They're living in a trailer park in this episode... -

In the EPO she filed against him she did claim to have been raped. It also states that he witheld birth control from her. I don't know many abused women who do a lot of "choosing." There's often a lot of emotional abuse, gaslighting, and isolation going on and this can hammer away at a victim's psyche. Many abused women go on to stay with their abuser and have children with them, even voluntarily. It's complicated, especially when the person has isolated you from everyone. I worked for my university's Violence Against Women program when I was in my abusive relationship. I was literally printing and handing out brochures with resources for battered women during the day and then going home to abuse at night. I "knew" better, yet it was still hard for me to leave. -

Mama Jihoon seems to have a skewed definition of "the past." I can totally see her being all, "Who cares if he cheated on you?! That was 10 minutes ago" as Jihoon is still pulling up his pants. -

Okay, I wound up fast forwarding most of this because it was so boring. -

Yep, I'd be in it for the added bonus of raking him over the coals again. -

Well, look at you go! Now just stick a pack of cigarettes in your bra and stand outside in the sun for two years and you'll be on your way to Angefying yourself! 😁 -

It's actually made me sick to my stomach, especially when people say, "She's not innocent, either." Even crappy people can get abused. Nobody deserves it. -
Oh man, I'm a huge Elvis/Buddy Holly freak, too. I'm also a big fan of Priscilla. I hate that I missed out on seeing them live. I don't no d Larissa when she's not being so Larissa-y. Like when she met the roommate and started talking about being a nerd. More of THAT Larissa, please!

Paul & Karine: These Condoms Ain't For Sexin'
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
This is real. Our social services and dv houses here don't play around with this shit. They don't get involved unless there's some kind of evidence. It's a complicated process and if they'd had ANY suspicions they wouldn't have sunk any resources or manpower into it. There's a lot of shit that we screw up here in Kentucky but we do take spousal abuse, physical and emotional, seriously. The timing of this IS bad, and I could see Pole doing something like that, but the story that gets released is often just the tip of the iceberg. It takes a woman an average of 7 times of leaving her abuser before it "sticks". I won't be surprised if all of this becomes too overwhelming for her and she goes back to him. I hope not. It's a really volatile and unhealthy situation all the way around. -
I wonder how they were originally going to end the season. Am I the only one who thinks the Belle looks boring? I guess it's good for networking purposes, and they do occasionally have seminars, but it basically just looks like a hotel lobby with a bar.

Paul & Karine: These Condoms Ain't For Sexin'
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
It was the viewer's complaints to advertisers after he killed the dog, not him actually killing it. But before that David had already been kicked off the show. They were only filming Jenelle in the end. Karine is okay and safe. Paul's video is just him on a fishing expedition. She's not hiding from the world, only him. He's trying to get someone to give her up. This behavior is common in abusive relationships. That's one of the reasons why a lot of dv shelters don't post their address. -

That does work a lot. I think that's what finally made MTV ditch Jenelle and David from TM2. -

I have tea on hand for when they visit. And I give them things from my state. My point is that when my British in laws visit they don't bring ME T-shirts with my state on them-they bring me things that symbolize where they're from. -
I've always just thought that music is music. We like what speaks to us. I love bluegrass and pre-1980s country, but when I'm driving I'll rock out to 80s big hair bands.

S05.E08: Hell Hath No Fury

Yeah, I refuse to believe that Angela thought having a baby with Michael was a viable and realistic plan. And his female relatives aren't ignorant-they must also find the idea ludicrous. I think Angela saying "I can tote it" was such a hit early on that they've worked it into a major plotline. -

I realize that, but at the time of filming her mother was dying from cancer and Angela didn't know what kind she might have, if it was treatable, or if she had it at all. My 13yo son has Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is "very treatable." It is still very much a big deal. Surgery, chemo, radiation, all the doctors appointments...even the "good" cancers suck. -

That's what I think, too. I still can't get over her worrying more about not being able to tote a baby than by possibly having cancer. -

And she can't buy them in Washington? I still think it's weird to use up packing space for items people already have available to them. -
Paul & Karine: These Condoms Ain't For Sexin'

All of this new reporting is coming straight from Paul. He's not the most reliable narrator. For instance, a Louisville ER is not going to accept him and offer him oxygen for an STD test. They're already at an overflow for COVID patients. My guess is that he's there for a panic attack or psych eval. And all Paul saw was Karine leaving the house with a man. He saw this via video footage (he has every room recorded). In these situations the best thing is for everyone to separate and get some space between them, especially if there is a history of violence or if there's a safety concern. -

Some of that is true. Some isn't. I wouldn't take Paul's self reporting at face value. -
Does that decorator look familiar to anyone else?

They're all a little cray cray. I'm loving him. And he's kinda hot. He won't stay with her for long.

I don't understand the expense of hiring the limo. Dudes are trying waaaayyyy too hard.
