  1. This is spot on. It's true for most of the South. I actually enjoyed the scene in the car. I like random and weird stuff. I cracked up that PB's reaction was to tell the kid to put his seatbelt on. I find Earn sympathetic still. Getting that security job is likely more difficult than a reccomendation from Van. Granted, he should still try. He doesn't seem to have experience, skills, or transportation. Yes, he should have taken the pawn shop money but when you're that poor, I think it's natural to go for what seems like easy and more money.
  2. Eh, the judges often do the same thing to Blake when it's a country artist. We just haven't seen much of it yet.
  3. I believe Alex would have decked him. I don't buy that he would have beaten him so badly at this point. While Jo has a sympathetic reason for lying, that doesn't mean she should get an automatic pass for lying. She's had plenty of opportunities to tell Alex. She's gotten mad at him for what she considered lying over the eggs. She's questioned his commitment to her multiple times. At this point, she should have been able to trust Alex to tell him. I don't need Meredith to be blindly loyal but I do expect her to support him and be there for him during this time. She can do that without covering for him. Alex deserves that after everything he's done for Meredith.
  4. Ugh, you've confirmed my fears. Yes, he should suffer consequences but someone should be there for him. He deserves that. They've all done some pretty shitty things themselves.
  5. Alex is my favorite but I have no desire to see the character assassination. To be fair, I can't stand Jo.
  6. I don't think she was lucky to find him. However, I didn't think he was a jackass at all. He clearly uses his humor to disguise his feelings about his weight. That's pretty common. Losing weight is not as simple as just doing it or getting surgery. It's so much more than a physical thing. It's hard as hell and people are incredibly judgmental about it. I'm overweight. There have been times I've been walking and I've had names and obscenities screamed at me. Do you know what that does to people? It sure as hell makes me want to go grab a milkshake and not even bother excerising.
  7. I read zero reviews so I didn't go in expecting a twist. I think that it may take out some enjoyment if you're actively looking for it. The back to back parenting cracked me up and it felt real to me. My husband and I have done the same thing often.
  8. The prior sexual assault has never been conclusive one way or the other.
  9. I think it works. Did the show say what month they were born in? They could have been near the cutoff. I know where I am the cutoff is 9/1. But I have friends whose kids are actually younger than mine a grade ahead because their cutoff is Dec 1. I started a year early so I was 5 when I started first grade and turned six that year.
  10. They don't automatically do c-sections with multiples now. My sister had twins a few years ago and didn't have a c-section. It just depends on the mom and babies health. It fooled me because when the Dr kicked the husband out, I just assumed a c-section is what would be happening then. Clearly, I can see now it was never mentioned and I should pay better attention.
  11. The Ramseys accused many real people of murder as well in their book and on TV. You don't have to agree or like their conclusion but that doesn't mean it's untrue. Or maybe it is wrong but we'll likely never know.
  12. I really thought Billy Gilman was going to pick Miley. I think she would make a better mentor for him than Adam.
  13. It wasn't a police interview, I think it was child services. That's why no parent or attorney wasn't present. I'm not positive but that was explained in.lme of the shows. Maybe someone remembers better than I do.
  14. I'm with you @dr pepper. I'm not looking forward to this at all. I actually enjoyed most of last season until the end. I may be the only one not looking forward to the Alex/Jo mess.
  15. Thanks for posting that White article. It was fascinating. I find it weird that John Ramsey named not one, but two kids after himself.
  16. Neither theory has been disproved. You can murder someone and still grieve the loss. There could have been an intruder. Or the Ramsey's did it in some fashion. Both can be believed. Just because someone doesn't arrive to the same conclusions doesn't mean that they haven't investigated thoroughly. You can vomit when you realize what you or your child did to another child.
  17. Touch DNA is highly unreliable. In fact, it is more commonly used by the defense as a way to exlcude not the prosecutors to identify. As I've said before, the DNA in this case is even more unreliable since Lacey deviated from 13 to 4 when it was analyzed. The sample would have experienced decay as well. Police mishandled the entire scene and that includes her clothing. There's no smoking gun on either side. http://campbelllawobserver.com/new-study-shows-that-touch-dna-may-implicate-the-innocent/
  18. Adam and Blake pick on each other equally and have done so since the beginning. There's no real rivalry there.
  19. I've posted in so many threads, I can't remember where it was said originally. But many say they can't imagine parents using the garrote or the paintbrush on their child. I think they would if they were trying to sell a pedophile did. They had already lost another child before JonBenet. Burke absolutely knew about the pineapple and where it came from. The second he said "Oh", I knew he knew. I thought he had been coached in the interviews as well. Or maybe one of them was sexually abusing her and snapped. Haven't we all seen those stories about killers? He was so nice, just the best, nothing creepy but in reality he was a psychopath. The Ranseys publicly accused many people of committing the murder in the press and in the book. Chris Wolf sued and lost because in order to win, he had to prove the Ramsey's did it.
  20. Or you do want to set up the most comfortable environment for him so everything feels normal. Many parents still love their kid after they commit an heinous act. If he did it, I'm sure the parents believe it was an accident and never meant to kill her. I'm not convinced he did it but I'm more open to the theory. I now believe the DA was just as inept as the police department. They were just as married to their theory as the Boulder PD was. The DA should have never been providing the Ramsey's with copies of the police reports prior to the interviews. Hunter seemed more concerned with his political future. The grand jury did vote to indict on two charges and he pretty much lied about it. I know it is ultimately his decision but the DA would have never have released that info if the court didn't force him too. I really wish the Whites would have appeared on camera. I want to know what they had to say.
  21. Patsy was from the South but it was a family joke that John was the true Southerner. Whoever wrote it was close to the Ramsey's.
  22. I have no issue with them retaining a lawyer. However, saying you'll only answer written question submitted through your lawyer and he'll return them does bother me. You don't really know who wrote the questions. They can take as long as they want to answer. If you read up on touch DNA, it's not as foolproof as it seems. The sample was old and had decayed. 13 is standard, the DA changed it to 4. Also, scene was contaminated. Are we really saying the chain of custody was handled perfectly when the police never secured the scene? Innocent people have been convicted on DNA evidence and then when DNA was retested it wasn't a match. Remember, that she was placed on the floor when carried up. They had a Christmas tour and weren't very tidy people. Friends and victims advocates were also there. Who put that underwear on her? Did JonBenet when she went to bed? Or did she change into it after having the accident?
  23. Or perhaps Burke was smearing feces as a way of getting any attention from his parents. He was jealous of her and it does appear that's where his parents main focus was. Or he was sexually assaulted? I wouldn't be surprised if he does have some kind of disorder. That doesn't mean he didn't do it. But I really struggle with that.
  24. @Pollock the timing of the calls to friends bother me too. It seems too quick. If it had been me, we would have called the police but no one else right away. Only afterwards, would I have called my pastor and family. Maybe a close friend. But that's me.
