  1. Fortunate casting, really. Girls mature sooner than boys. Predictably, Sheldon and twin Missy will be the same height as adults.
  2. Mary Cooper is turning out to be quite the hypocrite. Don't forget the smoking, too. In fairness, her concern for Missy probably comes from her own experience that resulted in Georgie, Godsend though he is even now.
  3. The beginnings of a future "Cradle Bay." 😧 Iain Armitage is so multitalented. I wish they could have a reason for another round of Broadway singing and dancing with Jason Alexander like they did early on.
  4. Peanut butter or spray cheese, let's just call them canapés. LOL
  5. It seems like the qualities and strengths that football teaches, according to George, Georgie already has. Admit it or not, George raised a good boy.
  6. LOL. If you make everything logical in a sitcom, you erase all the plot devices. My guess is that Taylor can afford to go to the local college for her first year since she lives at home, commutes with Greg, and probably gets a break on tuition because Greg is an employee. No need to mention C-MU, which she can transfer to whenever as she's already been accepted. The kids all support each other 100% and would never say anything that might embarrass the other. That's why Taylor may never tell Trip her name is "Otto" and not "Auto." And Oliver would never point out to Cooper that he isn't doing even simple menial chores right. It was refreshing to see Greg finally unload on Katie. Fortunately their marriage is strong. And Katie has a thick skin. I enjoyed the robo-vacs. I had shoulder surgery last week, and I could use an army of them myself right now. 😄
  7. Interesting. One character played by a different actress, one actress playing a different character. Sort of. Taylor actually gets Plato. Taylor-Trip is reaching a Penny-Zach crossroad. I see Jake Choi moved up a time slot, stepping neatly from one show to another and filling the gay character void on AH, still a "single parent." The bond between Greg and Cooper grows stronger. Are the Ottos that broke, or was Oliver exaggerating? Or is Katie just uncommonly frugal? Was Cooper channeling John Belushi's Samurai Delicatessen? I liked the reality of Katie's coming to a "mature understanding" with Taylor about her staying with Trip. LOL Enough of the little brat, though, please. Mom does know tricks to rein her in. Use them.
  8. Yeah, I knew "knowing" was too strong when I wrote it. "Fearing" was more what I was after, based on Andy's knowing the nature of addicts and from hearing Rusty's between-the-lines description of his mother's "fragile" condition. A movingly written scene, as well as Rusty's attitude adjustment by the time Sharon found him in her condo. A lot packed into her report, "Rusty's home."
  9. Change of seasons here, 1:10 in Arizona, about Rusty's ex-father, another unqualified parent. This is the second viewing for me, and I still wonder why they didn't arrest the S.O.B. anyway (they reneg on deals all the time) and show some concern for the safety of his future stepdaughters instead of waiting for the mother to find out the hard way. What a turn around in the squad's relationship with Rusty in just 10 eps. With Andy, it began with the ride to the bus station to get Sharon Beck, seeing how loyal and devoted Rusty was in spite of her treatment of him -- and Andy knowing, I believe, that she wasn't going to be on the bus. Back to the Stroh thread, someone would have to falsify the ballistics report, that's all there is to it. And Provenza had better have gunshot residue on him by the time the crime lab gets there. And Rusty not. Of course all of Fandom wanted to see Rusty put down Phillip Stroh, and do it with cool satisfaction. I never understood why Brenda didn't finish the job in her kitchen when she had the chance.
  10. This was the second time, that I know of, that Meemaw tickled Sheldon, and again it seemed like Iain didn't see it coming. Did Meemaw call George Mary's (pre-marital) "loser boyfriend"? With all he does and puts up with? Great episode. Great actors. Very much appreciated these days.
  11. Evan (Franklin) and Daniel (Oliver) have shot up like trees. I like Oliver on the Teen Help Line. He really has taken it seriously, not just a community service credit for his college applications. The one who doesn't take it seriously is his clueless mentor. LOL. Who hasn't had a co-worker like that? I suspect the other two boys may have at least been exposed to the coronavirus and are being kept off the set in quarantine.
  12. Script aside, I wonder how a real Marty Deeks would feel about Hetty's "surprise" and not being able to graduate. A cheap plot twist. All these characters/actors drifting in and out, with or without explanation or backstory, and on-again, off-again relationships clouded by doubt (is it real or a cover? Or just doomed?). It's getting so you can't tell the players without a giant scorecard. And all of them straight. The complaint on the 'net is that EVERY show has LGBTQ characters "shoved down our throats." Tell me again, who in the entire franchise (on-screen) is LGBTQ? Come on, even in the real world, some people are gay. The trope of higher-ups constantly wanting to take down the agency with the best success record for "not following the rules" is way overworked (and downright suspicious!). So is having the fate of mankind in the hands of the same half dozen overworked agents week after week. But I do love the rare exception when Hetty calls in the cavalry. Yee-haw!
  13. I got a kick out of Franklin, Esq., and his billable hours. The boys' basement lair never ceases to surprise. An escape tunnel, lined with mosaic tiles. One of Phoenix's ritzier neighborhoods has a wide pedestrian underpass like that. I like that Oliver doesn't mind Cooper calling Katy and Greg Mom and Dad -- true brothers. It's too bad newcomers to the show may not know the backstory. Greg's band is a treat, especially with the addition of Taylor. Monty Python once had a skit with a musical lesson on Middle Ages agrarian society, by the Ronettes. Regardless of the background casting gossip, I like Super Mom. But I think the transformation of Brat Girl at the end was too smooth and fast, especially in comparison with the boys' experience. Good Ep. Did we lose Trip?
  14. Richard Boone was Paladin, "a knight without armor in a savage land," per the theme song. His business card read, "Have gun, will travel. Wire Paladin, San Francisco." He was a Western version of the "Equalizer," you might say, fittingly. Parentingwise, George is more often right than Mary. Also, as a former university coach, he is more familar with academia and is comfortable on any college campus for when Sheldon has to scout universities.
  15. This episode reinforces my wish to see a Georgie and Missy spinoff, during Sheldon's college years when he had no idea what was happening back home.
  16. Didn't Georgie say his van was titled in Mexico? He may have trouble unloading it in the US. I wonder how (or if) he got it registered. The lava lamp by the bed was a nice touch. Too much for his date's dad, though. 😂 Yes, teens will have sex no matter what, but you needn't make it easy for them.
  17. Katie's take on dodgeball made me laugh. Spot on. Is there any activity that Franklin isn't a natural at? I know intensity is part of the character, but I wish there were more occasions for Oliver to laugh, or at least smile. Especially with Taylor's turn toward maturity. One positive result, she appreciates Trip for who he is and hasn't ditched him for who he's not. TV could do with more good role models like those two. And friends like Cooper. He started calling them that an episode or two ago.

    Season 03

I don't know if this was mentioned upthread, but the same twist was used on CSI ("Bloodlines") with a perp with blood of one DNA and semen of another DNA from an absorbed twin. Grissom called him a chimera. By now, every felon who watches TV knows that when a cop points a gun at them and tells them not to move, they are free to run for their life, because that trigger is never going to be pulled. Let the perfunctory footchase begin. One glaring plot hole: In every procedural crime show I've seen, when there is a possibility of a copycat killer afoot, the original case is routinely reexamined closely to see if there is any possible tie-in that might lead to solving the current case. It's not limited to just seeing if the original perp was really guilty. No one shouts, "Whatever you do, DON'T look behind the curtain!"
  19. I thought they should have taken the kid out the minute they walked in the room, but then they would have had to pad out the last 15 minutes of the show more than they did. I wonder if it's really that hard to pull the plug on a plane's autopilot in flight. Or at least the wifi feed. In the hospital, they might have been clearer when telling the IT administrator that she needed to take all machines offline, that they meant NOW!!! All in all, a good, fast-paced episode, just enough explaining for the viewer's edification. One take away, for me, was that the computer camp counselor maybe should have done more actual counseling, not just boosting all of her campers' egos. She might have picked up that one of them was sliding off the rails. She should have been aware of that fine line sometimes between genius and insanity and the prevalence of nerd-bullying. Maybe I expect too much of summer camp.
  20. As for the fate of Billy's pet chicken, that's life on the farm. As a rule of thumb, it's best not to name your future food. I think about that little exchange in the mivie "Hoosiers" when Cletus's wife is gathering things for dinner and walks by Coach Dale holding a rabbit. "Say hello to Chester." "Hello." "Say goodbye to Chester." "Oh!"
  21. They said his mother is visiting the Pyramids -- and hopefully aliens will take her away to visit their planet. Cooper is sounding like Raj with Howard on TBBT. The writers keep toying with a Cooper-Oliver bromance. I think Cooper is just dependent on Oliver right now because he doesn't have his palace of earthly delights anymore to keep him entertained. Greg and Katy should be giving him a little more attention right now. He's really just a little boy, too. The new Anna-Kat is starting to click. And Franklin never ceases to surprise.
  22. Until that last scene, I was thinking how much Montana looks more and more like adult Jerry O'Connell. Good casting in either case. And how Raegan is growing from cute little girl into beautiful young woman. My thought with those white pants, besides how are they still spotless, was no, the show wouldn't go there, it's just a Hitchcockian McGuffin. I wondered why George didn't just ask Gretchen for help, but of course, men never ask for directions! LOL. Sheldon, with his eidetic memory and no filter and no governor, is both a bottomless well and a fountain of knowledge, a black hole devouring every factoid in reach -- and spewing it back out. Meemaw didn't stand a chance. Sheldon does ring a mean bell. Kudos to his boss for having saintly patience, while it lasted. Mary and Georgie bonding over action movies was sweet. I hope Mary at least watches "Die Hard" with George some day. They need that. I love this family.
  23. Yes, the recipe (minus the eyeballs) and her client list.
  24. I'm guessing the two "missing" episodes couldn't be used or flash-backed to because it would mean reshooting everything ($$$) or glaringly introducing a new Anna-Kat midseason. And the Season 5 story arcs were already laid out. Yeah, I noticed that actors interacting in the same scene often aren't really in the same shot. Give credit to the director for being able to maintain social distancing.
  25. That was an adorkable reveal when Franklin admitted that his real fear of Anna-Kat going to a sleepaway camp was that she'd meet and kiss another boy. She might still, Franklin, but cherish the moment. 💘 Hmm. Greg very much needs an adult friend, not another pest. They need to bring back his brother, Greg. YouTube entrepreneur Lonnie Spears is played by Matt Shively, Jr. He has an extensive resumé. I'm not sure that contract obligations account for his character's continuing presence, but in any case, hate the character, not the actor.
