  1. Mo is striking me as...how should I put it...she seems very fake in that follower type of way. Last season it was all about Chante because she was the most established, longevity wise, amongst all of them. Now that Chrisette is there and is actually a contemporary, charting artist, she's all up her butt. Like, she only seems ready to pop off at the mouth if she's sure that someone else will back her up. I feel what Chante is saying about background singing being an honor (especially since I recently watched 20 Feet From Stardom), but she can miss me with all of the people she sang background for. I'm sure those other ladies wouldn't have a problem singing background for those people she mentioned, either. If she would have named some contemporaries like Karyn White, Angela Winbush, Tevin Campbell or Christopher Williams that would have been a better comparison. "They should be happy to sing background for me because I was happy to sing background for Michael Jackson!" GTFOH. I don't know Chrisette's background -- how was she discovered? She seems a little entitled. First it was "I've never played in a small venue" and now it's "I've never sang background." Nothing wrong with either, but she acts like both are beneath her.
  2. If Brooke pulled a Shawn Spencer, complete with his face, she might have had my allegiance forever.
  3. Everything Bill said makes sense, but so does what Brooke said. When he's "crossed," he does go for the jugular without regard to what the consequences are. Just because you like Bill better than Ridge doesn't mean his actions aren't ridiculous ;-) And I'm not trying to absolve Ridge of anything, but a sucker punch is way different than getting dumped out of a helicopter 100 feet in the air. I do like how Bill said that Ridge did the exact same thing to him earlier and when Katie looked like she hadn't given that part a lot of thought, here comes Ridge grabbing her shoulders, talking about what he had to do. I liked Ivy and Aly's talk. They seem very comfortable with each other already, and even though they're family, Ivy's enough of an outsider that it works. And I do like how she gave Hope the immediate side eye.
  4. I love Chrisette's eye makeup and her performance dress was super cute. I just played "I Know, Right" on Spotify and I heard no traces of Mo, Chrisette or Leela. And there was a lot of space to create to new material in. Like...even some of those verses she already recorded should have been rethought... Now Chante knows that they could have recut that track and put some of those other women in there, singing what she already written. I mean, the album version of Justin Timberlake's "Until The End of Time" has hide nor hair of Beyonce, but the radio version clearly had her dueting with whatever he already recorded and replacing verses he'd originally sung with her vocals.
  5. I forgot to mention how glorious Claudette's hair is. And the difference in her attitude between last season and this season is night and day. She's more playful and open. However, that jumpsuit she's wearing in the intro is absolutely terrible. And there is no reason for a woman that gorgeous to look that frumpy. Speaking of the intro, can Mo walk in whatever heels she has on? She looked like she was on the struggle bus.
  6. Again, it's probably not the action itself that's going to piss Brooke off, but the lying about it.
  7. The only time I remember seeing Othello was when he popped up at the office and Rick was trying to get Maya to go out to the club with him. Then, (like, a year later), he was hanging out in the photo studio, commenting on the fact that Oliver shaved so he could look younger and not like a perv around Aly. Exactly! I was like, "Um, you trying to dump him out of a helicopter is not going to do wonders for making Brooke believe this confession." She wasn't surprised. She already knew that from talking with Deacon. She just had to act surprised because she wasn't supposed to know.
  8. Oh my gosh. I was dead whenever Maya piped up to kiss Eric's butt (and Ivy, too, for good measure). What made it best was cutting between Oliver's and Carter's expressions. Only Caroline's presence would have made it better. LG can pull some pretty spectacular faces.
  9. Ha! Isn't that the whole point of coming up with a song to promote tourism?!
  10. Whoever said that Ridge has become a non-entity since TK took over is spot on. I never had a huge problem with RM, so it's not like I was aching for new blood. Even so, RM had a presence that TK does not. I could give a crap about this dude getting dumped out of a chopper.
  11. Well, back when everyone thought that Deacon and Becky's (Amber's cousin) baby was Amber and Rick's, he received a percentage of the company and when his paternity (and maternity) was discovered, no one got around to correcting that. At some point, there was a power struggle over Forrester Creations. Brooke was CEO and Deacon used that percentage to vote against Brooke and reinstate Eric as CEO. I'm sure that pissed her off. Also, generally, Deacon is a grifter and an alcoholic, but he wouldn't be tied to that family if it weren't for Rick and Brooke. Deacon didn't know he was the father of that Little Eric (or Little E, now known as Little Deacon, Little D or just Alphabet Baby), but, to stop Amber from marrying another man, Rick found Deacon and brought him into their lives.
  12. Oh, @Turtle, you're in a for a doozy. I don't wanna do brief. Here goes: Way back in the day, Rick got into a relationship with his babysitter. Her name was Amber and everyone thought of her as desert trash (except for Stephanie). She got pregnant and they got married, but at the time, she didn't know if the baby was Rick's or this other guy named Raymond's (played by...Usher Raymond). So she went back to the desert to have her kid, figuring that she would be able to tell who the daddy was once she saw the color of the baby. Turns out the baby was Rick's. Also turns out the baby was stillborn. Wouldn't you know that same night, Amber's cousin had a baby, too. Amber's mom did some finagling and Amber went back to LA, passing off her cousin's baby as hers and Rick's. The cousin's baby's father? Deacon Sharpe! Deacon tried to create a psuedo family with his son and Amber (I believed fueled by blackmail of some kind) and when that didn't work, he moved on to seduce young Bridget Forrester (daughter or Eric and Brooke, sister of Rick). They secretly got married and everyone hated him. Somehow, Brooke got through to him and he agreed to divorce Bridget. Soon after, he went by Brooke's to confirm his plans of breaking up with Bridget (I think) and he found Brooke distraught over losing some man (I believe) and they ended up sleeping together. And it was hot. And it happened multiple times. I think there was some big to do that Brooke's first on screen orgasm was with Deacon. So Brooke ended up having an affair with her daughter's husband and she got pregnant. Of course, she had to keep the baby, but she also had to protect Bridget, so she got some dude (Whip Jones; great character) to marry her to cover it up. However, Bridget overheard Brooke and Deacon talking about being in love and their baby on a baby monitor after a baby shower that she threw for her mother -- that's how Bridget found out about it. After blasting her mom about it, she ended up trapped in Big Bear Cabin with Brooke when she went into labor so she had to help deliver her husband's child by her mother -- Hope! But I don't know that Deacon really "did" anything to Brooke that she didn't allow to happen. I'm sure I'm missing stuff after Deacon married Macy (was is that whole Forrester shares thing that Deacon voted that got her mad?).
  13. I liked this episode a lot. I laughed a bunch, though Lucas's eyeshadow and blush (and presence) continue to bother me. Boop.
  14. Yes, I was getting ready to post how much fun it was to see Deacon interacting with Brooke, Katie and Hope; both their individual reactions to him, and how his presence made Katie and Brooke "sister up." Add that to the fact that he wasn't letting any of that deter him from inserting himself in their business and it was great TV for this viewer.
  15. Yes! I was like, "Good Lord. Just do a twist out with water!" KM is a sweetheart on Twitter. She's responded to me several times (basically every time I've tweeted her) -- and one of the times was asking about her hair. Ha!
  16. Karla Mosley just has big eyes (as do I). So some acting choices she makes (which aren't the best) look more exaggerated because of her features.
  17. I'm glad Carter didn't stay with Maya, but at the same time, I don't feel sorry for him. That's what you get when you doggedly pursue someone in a relationship, then propose to them a day (or maybe he waited two) after they break up with their boyfriend (for reasons that had nothing to do with you) and you've never been on one date.
  18. Far be it for me to poo poo on someone's Grammy nomination (it's not like I have one), but that's what I'm about to do. Syleena mentioned that one too many times during this season, the straw breaking the camel's back (for me) on this episode. I'ma need her to calm down on that one. Yes, her part was important (because that's what you sing), but that song was so powerful (still is) that it would have been nominated no matter who was singing the hook. And then you add on the fact that Syleena only got on the track because he couldn't get clearance to use Lauryn Hill's original vocals and it's like...c'mon. She was the one that was able to best imitate the person he really wanted to sing and she won't shut up about that Grammy nom.
  19. Carter has no shame, so I'm assuming that's not going to happen. If it does, I'll be shocked.
  20. Definitely. It happened in a few of my classes -- a couple in elementary school and one in high school.
  21. Could Hope have looked any less excited to hear Liam talking to Wyatt about their wedding?
  22. Line of the episode: Rick suggesting to Caroline that maybe Ridge forgot that he wanted Rick's job. Loud guffaw from this one right here. To me, Rick is acting exactly like he did when Caroline was the one on the outs and he was with Maya; basically, just poo-pooing bad behavior even if it disrespects his relationship. Oliver has been looking less attractive to me since he shaved off his scruff (one reason I'm not all gung ho for this relationship with Aly; he flat out said he was shaving to make himself look younger!), but he was back to dreamy status today when he was aruging with Maya. The guy who plays Oliver really is a terrible actor and, IMO, this knight in shining armor stuff that he's playing with Aly makes him super boring. But he had some actual reactions, some spark today. Like I assumed, Maya was pissed that Oliver was trying to position Aly for her job and that's why she used the recording. And Oliver stopped short when she said it, which makes me think that he was caught. And now she's clearly paranoid, claiming that he's sabatoging her.
  23. I almost choked on my sandwich laughing when Bill rightly assumed that Quinn had checked herself into the "looney bin." The way he said that, with absolutely no compassion or sympathy had me dead. So has Ridge lost the ability to design, like...conceptually? Or has he lost the motor skills to draw? Looks like he couldn't even hold that pencil, but you would have throught that he would have had to hold something like that in the time since he was found strolling along the beach. Either way, I don't think my reaction was supposed to be howling with laughter, which is what I did. I like how Maya wandered into Oliver's studio acting like she didn't know what was going on. The day before, she busted him to Rick and Caroline on that recording and the next day, he doesn't want to talk to her, but she's wondering why he's avoiding her? C'mon, son.
