  1. The Quote is from last year but the article is new: The 26 Most Inspirational Quotes From POPSUGAR Play/Ground 2018
  2. Wait, that person actually bought votes? Facepalm. The behavior of some people part of my fandom makes me feel sad
  3. I think that's one of those TV show things where they try to get the most drama out of situations. I'm trying to remember if on any of these types of shows a couple ever had a baby after deciding they were ready to have a baby. Joe and Cecile it was also unexpected. What was it like for Diggly and Lyla, I don't remember? I was mostly speaking hypothetically though, if Iris does also get pregnant I think it would be a nice thing for them to share, perhaps new mothers might find a lot of support in talking to other new mothers, but I'm not actually that convinced they'll be pregnant at the same time.
  4. Yeah, especially if the shows from the present are still ongoing. It's one of the things that makes me wonder about the idea of them doing this especially since they just greenlit Batwoman which is also set in the present. But it's far enough in the future that they could somehow make it work, if the writer rooms make some good agreements on what they can and can't do and stay in communication. The Arrow Flash forwards are in 2040, but the Flash ones so far are from 2049 so that does create some potential issues if they want to use the same actors. 9 years is a long time. I don't remember exactly but I think someone said in an interview Nora is 24, so that means she'd be born in 2025. However in the show she said she was born a few years before Barry disappeared so I'll take that as canon. Let's say 2 years before Barry disappears, so 2022 making her 27. If because crisis is moved up (and I'm still not entirely convinced it will, they could do a time jump) she's born in either 2019 or 2020 she would be 27 in 2046/2047 so your 2046 could work. But it might not work that way with timeline changes or maybe a different version of Nora is born because of all the changes. Until we know what year crisis takes place, and what changes it makes it would be hard to say. Maybe they'll all go 1000 years in the future to join the legion of super-heroes. 😁
  5. That's what I've been thinking! (Either that or they want Arrow to continue with the Arrow kids, while the current cast become recurring or something, but I'd prefer them to just start a new show that takes place in the future if they want to have a show with the kids.) It makes sense that they'd want a young justice type spin off, and by connecting it to the other shows by making them the offspring of characters we already know you at least have part of the audience checking it out. Even though the roster is already quite full, I'd think they'd like to add a legacy a character from Supergirl and maybe Legends of Tomorrow (but on Supergirl they might not be ready to make any decisions on couples) and also add maybe one non legacy character. I'd say for regulars maybe 2 characters from Arrow (Mia and ?? - the rest of the legacy characters are also there but maybe recurring), 1 or 2 from Flash (depending if there are tornado twins or it's just Nora),1 from Supergirl, 1 from Legends of Tomorrow and 1 non legacy character. That would make a cast of 7 regulars, which is quite big but somewhat on par with how many regulars the other shows have, and since it would be a team up show I think it could work. I'm rambling because I actually really like the idea 😂
  6. Raises hand hesitantly...I liked that Oliver and Felicity also got married/the double wedding...and I would think it's cute if Iris and Felicity were pregnant at the same time or had a baby shower together....I hope we get interaction and maybe down the road a friendship between Nora and Mia...slinks back into the shadow 😂 I'll not deny that the timing of it all seems a bit convenient in the way they also brought in a mysterious girl that was revealed to be the grown up daughter of our main couple, but as for a daughter existing in the future, It's not really a surprise that if you have a flash forward that Oliver and Felicity would have grown up children and since they already have a son I can see why they wanted to give them a daughter. Whenever you get time travel or flash forwards there's almost always going to be offspring for someone in the group that the audience didn't know about. Those are the kind of tropes that are fun to play out in sci fi. This isn't even really that, it's just Oliver and Felicity, a married couple, have a child in the near future. That child would logically be grown up in any flash forwards. For example (spoiler for Agents of Shield), This being Arrow's 7th season I think the flash forwards were brought in to potentially give the show a future beyond Oliver should that be necessary and when they decided on flash forwards they had to decide now whether Oliver and Felicity would have a baby together. I think all of this, Nora, Mia the flash forwards and even crisis being next year is part of a larger conversation behind the scenes about the future of the arrowverse and what comes next.
  7. Liked the episode. Great Iris content. Fight scenes that weren't too short. Even a little Barry/Iris. I love Nora and I like Sherloque, but I'm not sure about their subplot. I get why it was there, but i think I would have preferred them to just go with A plot with the heist/undercover stuff and B plot Iris investigating.
  8. Oh, that's cool. Thanks!
  9. I haven't seen the episode yet, but what was the shout-out to Iris' blog?
  10. Enjoyed this episode a lot. I love it when the show deals with the future directly like this. I really want an all future episode. Just show us what life is like, doesn't even have to be from the perspective of someone from our time, since Nora is from there it could be her thinking back or something. Central City Citizen is here! Finally. I would have liked a little more build up since I think this is the first we heard that she wanted to expand her blog. An episode with her thinking about going back to work for a newspaper and then deciding she wanted to start her own newspaper instead would have helped. However, I'm glad we're here now. I'm glad she got her own set again (or a shared set with Ralph). As I said after episode 1 I'm waiting for Barry and Iris to talk about Barry disappearing and how they're really feeling, but I did love how it was underneath a lot of their interactions this episode. I love Barry and Iris I also love Nora. She's a little immature, sure, but I love the energy she brings. I didn't dislike S4 at all (I enjoyed it a lot), but I'm liking S5 a lot more and part of that is because of Nora and this whole future plot. I think Cicada isn't bad as a villain (even if I feel like with what he has shown he shouldn't be that hard to defeat). Pretty much every fight someone gets the upper hand at some point), but I find my attention is drawn to the plot about Nora being from the future and what she is doing here and adding Thawne to that just makes it that much more interesting. I just think the show is better when it isn't trying to be 'normal' and just embraces that part of the flash is the speed force and time travel and other earths and all those kinds of things. The entire story that we've seen, the world that we've seen for 4/5 seasons only exists because of (thawne's) time travel. I also love all the family stuff. Barry and Iris as parents is something I knew I'd enjoy, and I do. I'd love a spin off with all the arrowverse kids. Nora + a twin hopefully (speedster (twins)), William (hacker), a potential Oliver/Felicity daughter or son (archer? figthter?), Zoe, someone from Supergirl and someone from legends and right there you've got yourself a new team. Young Arrowverse!
  11. Don't have much time again, so some more quick points: -Is this all the batwoman for the crossover? I feel like since they made such a big deal about introducing her they should have given her more to do in more than one episode -Olicity reunion! Felicity's face during this exchange! -They should have told Felicity immediately. -I love WestAllen and Iris with all my heart and more than any other ship, but while Iris did notice he was acting strange it wasn't until having that heart to heart conversation with real Barry that she started to believe. Given the same opportunity Felicity would have believed as well. I'll just chalk it up to the writers (writer?) wanting to add more turmoil for Felicity and using a clumsy way to do it (and Cisco just really loving his ship, lol) -Predictably I missed Iris. I would have rather Iris and Felicity had that conversation, but it was an ok convo -Maybe I missed it because I was distracted, but does Deegan have some personal vendetta with Oliver or Barry? Why would he randomly pick to do this with the book? Why not have everyone believe his theories or something -Crisis on Infinite Earths next year? I wonder if they'd consider doing a 5 year time jump for the entire Arrowverse. It could certainly open up some storytelling possibilities, though I don't know how it would be received.
  12. Quick addition before I go: a little 'that was weird wasn't it, no hard feelings?' convo with Iris and Oliver would have been nice to end that arc since Iris isn't in the rest of the crossover.
  13. I don't have a lot of time to go over my thoughts but: -It was ok, I did think it was funny and had charming moments but I didn't love it. Something felt wrong with all the characters. Lots of weird writing and I dislike how in crossovers they always have to boil thing down to simple I'm this and you're that when things are more nuanced than that. -I'm actually surprised some think Iris was being against Oliver. The conversation with Iris and Oliver on the balcony seemed clearly to be about giving Oliver more insight into what Felicity was going through and how his behavior has affected her. Of course, it didn't make sense, since he should already know since Felicity already told him. I'm not sure why it's trashing him when Iris tells him the same thing. They'll deal more with Oliver and Felicity's relationship in the next hour so it was a set up of sorts. The balcony scene with Barry and Iris was to me more about reiterating that she loves Barry not Oliver (after some of the imo weird behavior in the episode). If it wasn't this it would have been something like I'm so glad you're Barry, not Oliver. Not because she hates Oliver, but because of course she's glad that her husband is like her husband and not like someone else. Hanging it on Oliver's supposed darkness, I agree, does seem weird. Especially with what Oliver is currently going through on his own show. -It doesn't make sense that Felicity is not in this episode. Or that no one called especially her, but also Diggle. And I still don't get why Iris will be nowhere to be found when they get back to Central City. I wonder if it's a budget issue. They brought in so much guest stars that there wasn't enough left to have everyone cross over even if it would have served the story? Anywho, I'l try to take my own advice and not take it too seriously. There were some nice moments and I laughed quite a bit, I liked Lois and Clark even though we haven't really seen enough Lois yet to really get a feel for the character and despite some of the weirdness Barry and Iris did hit me in the feels in the second half. I just love their chemistry. I'll probably enjoy it more after I've seen it again or when I've seen the full story.
  14. I mean, it was only one person that said the playboy thing in this thread, but ok Hartley tweeted this, which confirms Ralph does have scenes with Clark and Kara. (We already knew he had scenes with Oliver-Barry. Though I was actually a little surprised since I remember Stephen saying he didn't know who Dibny was when asked if he had scenes with him in the crossover. Or maybe he was just trying to avoid spoilers.) And I agree with a few posters above. While I can sort of understand why they might pretend to be each other initially, I'm not sure why they need to keep pretending to be each other later on. Especially not in Gotham city. It's not like anyone knows them there. Anywho, almost time for the episode!
  15. I wish there was no tension between certain parts of Wa/Iris and OF/Felicity fans, but my wishing that doesn't do anyone any good. So continuing with this: A preview (I don't think it's been posted yet): Elseworlds: Ten Things About This Year’s Crossover Some tidbits in no particular order. More at the source :)
  16. mmmh. Especially when I really like a couple I don't even like seeing other versions of the characters being with other characters. I'm honestly not sure how I'd feel if this were actual WestQueen or Barricity, but I don't consider it either because it's just a life swap and at least Barry and Oliver are fully aware of who they really are and really love (regardless of what they might pretend). I'm trying to find words to say what I mean, but I guess what I was trying to say before was more about the content of the clips. That Oliver pretending to be Barry and the way certain things where phrased or Barry being caught up in the swap at first, are not meant to undermine either Olicity or WestAllen (I didn't see it that way, but the discussion), or rather, it's ok to see it in a more lighthearted way since the focus is on humor. I guess I'm one to talk since I've definitely been irritated at situations where I felt that the writers chose humor over the character. As I'm writing this I realize that by my own logic you could excuse so many things, so it's not really that sound (and people can feel about it whatever they feel), but I guess for me what it does is help when my mind starts to overanalyze what so and so is supposed to say about a character or relationship. The answer is usually nothing, they just wanted the joke. Sorry, I didn't mean to go so serious. (So I guess in some ways I do take it way too seriously 😅). It feels like I've been a bit negative, even though I enjoyed watching the clips we got. To end my post on a more positive note: Interesting that we'll learn about Diggle's future in the crossover. I wonder how they'll work that in. Will someone tell him? I doubt we're getting a flash forward in the crossover (that would be surprising!) Maybe the monitor? It could have been Nora saying something, but she's doesn't appear at all apparently.
  17. I mean, I don't think it's meant to be taken so seriously as to wonder what they say about the relationships tbh since it looks like they're going for comedy unfortunately at the expense of whether it makes sense for the character. They were clearly going for the joke in both Oliver's little wake up scene and Barry's we need to change this now scene plus they wanted a clear contrast in that scene. (though who knows, I can't promise I'll find the humor in everything 😳😅) (btw, I also don't think Oliver has been presented as a playboy by the show, except sort of before the Island. He tried to keep that image alive to the public at first but it was pretty clear he had changed. I think maybe the impression for some comes from Oliver being (pretty much) a celebrity in the Arrowverse universe (in the shows) that is attractive to many women, but that is an outside view of him and is not related to how he actually conducts himself. Plus it's been clear for seasons that one woman really holds his heart. Maybe heartthrob might be a better term?) I don't think I've said yet, but I love Lois, so I'm looking forward to seeing this version of Lois Lane in action. Bitsy Tulloch answered this question about the reporters working together in that TVline interview mentioned above, so it's confirmed that Iris and Lois don't have any scenes :( Supposedly Lois also tags along, so her not meeting Iris makes me wonder if Iris is already gone when they get back to Star Labs at the end of the first episode? (assuming my speculation in the last post is right). Could something have happened? Another rewrite? Someone mentions Deegan is rewriting reality again in the trailers, but I don't think that is until the Supergirl episode where the trigger twins appear.
  18. I agree! I get it for this crossover since it comes with the whole swap thing (though I wish they didn't include the I love you, they could have given him some comedic moment of trying to avoid saying it, but it's clear he's playing along and only barely controlling his confusion so I can accept it) but there are so many single people in the Arrowverse if they absolutely have to play with crossover relationships. I hope we don't get even more of this type of thing when they deal with it with regards to Felicity and Barry-Oliver. (to clarify I do think the scene is funny and that little shrug Oliver does is adorable) Still bummed that Iris is only in the first episode, but at least it's a pleasant surprise that she looks to be in more of the episode than I thought. With Lois Lane being introduced this would have been the perfect time to weave her more into the crossover than they have before (they did last year, but other than that she's never crossed over and that's weird), but oh well. I'm assuming since the TVLine q&a mentioned they deal with Oliver and Felicity's relationship storyline from the show in the 2nd episode, that Felicity will first show up in the second one. It's still possible she's in the first, and that would be my preference, but It would most likely come up when she sees Barry-Oliver and Oliver-Barry (unless it's just mentioned or alluded to in the first and delved into in the second, or there's just too much going on, which now that I think about it is actually pretty possible). But that doesn't mean she's not in the 3rd episode. It depends on what happens with the story, otherwise logically she shouldn't just disappear. I hope they at least give some reason why Iris isn't there after episode 1 even though something is going on with her husband, especially because it looks like parts of the Supergirl episode also seems to take place in Central City (if I remember correctly from filming photos). I actually think, based on that behind the scenes clip, that even in the first episode after they go to Earth 38 they travel back within the episode. There's a part where you see Kara and Clarke in Star Labs, and you can also spot Dibny and Sherloque so it's most likely still the first episode. As far as I know apart from Barry, from The Flash only Cisco and Caitlin are in all 3 episodes. And thanks @tv echo that news roundup is impressive
  19. I'm confused as to why he's going along with being Barry (they must have shot some different types of takes judging by the trailers versus this scene). I guess he's trying to figure out what's going on before he does something?? Maybe for all he knows it's another one of those alien fake worlds like 2 crossovers ago and he doesn't want to alert anyone watching he knows things aren't how they're supposed to be?
  20. Some more interviews from the 100th party: Nothing really spoilery in Todd's interview if you've read the synopsis and seen the promo for tomorrow's episode, but if your'e avoiding any kind of spoilers on the episode then avoid this one.
  21. Jessica says about Nora's secrets that there's a relationship going on with a scary person and you don't know what side she's on all of a sudden. It'll be a 'jarring cliffhanger'
  22. Hey, there’s a crossover board! I’m actually quite looking forward to this since I tend to really like other universes/timeline stories, but I’m really bummed that Iris is not crossing over. At least now there’s some good news that Felicity has a bigger part than I expected based on what I was hearing. If her role is yet to be revealed, could it be she has some other secret identity or something? Like someone above mentioned, oracle. That could be fun. I think these rewrites are not like changing the timeline and the resulting consequences, I think they’re more like how the spear of destiny worked. The person rewriting can change certain things he or she wants and keep the same what he or she wants and it doesn’t have to make sense to history or even the person. I think he literally just swapped the way Barry and Oliver look (but somehow they retained their memory from the real world). All the memories the other characters have are of the old Barry, but he just has Olivers face in them. Almost like photoshop over their memories (like that picture they photoshopped Oliver’s face on 😁) . Anyway, still bummed about Iris not crossing over. Story wise, It’s just weird that she would disappear after the first ep knowing that something is wrong with Barry (I’m not sure if news above means Felicity is in the Supergirl episode, but if not it’s also weird. I guess it's just weird to me that if you have a story where two guys lives are swapped that their wives are not a big part of that or are not at the very least present when/after they swap back. Especially if they start with the scene with Iris and Oliver-Barry Who knows, who knows. Still quite looking forward to it. Are we supposed to get another trailer? It feels like the one we got is much shorter than the one from last year and It feels like the promo for this has slowed down a bit the last week, but that might just be because I haven’t been that plugged in.
  23. To quote another time travel story: That was heavy I'm on the fence whether I actually like what they're doing with the Iris and Nora of it all, but I like what it could be. Their relationship already feels wonderfully layered. I don't blame either of them. Nora being angry is perfectly understandable, though her taking it out on 2018 Iris is a no no even though I also get how confusing it would be for Nora. Still we're talking 30 years in the future, Iris would be 60 so seeing her so young should make it easier to distinguish the two. Without all the information it's hard to say who is right, but the way the episode tackled it, they made it pretty clear that we will find out that future Iris indeed had a good reason. I wish we didn't have to wait an extra week for the next episode -Iris + her bad cooking ? -Lots of nice Westallen. They really, really work well together. Cute marrieds. That scene in the end where Barry stood by Iris, very very nice -Still loving the family dynamics -I like Sherloque -Is Carlos doing some other project for which he needed time off? -Where are we in time? It's been 4 episodes so the end of June? How can Cicada already have Pretty much
  24. I agree that it would have been much better if Barry and Nora would have told Iris in private. I guess they probably thought it would be too similar to the vault scene with Nora, and then they'd have to do another scene with the group. About the other part of that private conversation, I feel conflicted about this, because I'm always up for Iris being vulnerable and I always want the writers to give her more room to express her feelings. I absolutely want her feelings on possibly losing Barry again, raising their daughter alone etc, but Barry is the one that disappears so I feel like if Barry had told Iris in private the focus for that first conversation shouldn't fully have been on Iris being comforted by Barry, but first confronting Barry's feelings about it and then Iris'. So mutual comforting :) Like I said, I'm conflicted about saying this, because as the main character Barry's feelings are always center and Iris' not as much, but it wouldn't feel completely right to me if that conversation became 100% about comforting Iris for losing Barry. Again I only mean it for that first conversation, I want all the stuff for Iris. The vulnerability, getting to speak her mind, the strength and then the doubt back to the strenght, fighting for her future, family and husband. I want to see her future self the same way we got to see Barrys. I guess for now I'm seeing past the not private reveal since I'm already anticipating some amazing scenes later on when it truly sets in. They're always so good in those scenes. The only real pebble in my shoe is that Barry and Iris haven't talked about it alone at all. I was really surprised that they didn't have Iris ask Barry in a quiet moment if he was doing ok. A quick, even if we decided we're going to change things, how are you dealing with the fact that you could possibly die in 6 years? And then Barry could ask her how she is doing etc, They both immediately put up a strong front in that group conversation. Iris was like, we'll change it! And Barry was like Ok! Moving on! (I'm glad Joe asked her how she was doing and Candice made the most of that moment.)
  25. Hi all! Haven’t been here in a while. First thoughts, since I want to get some sleep!: -I did enjoy the episode, but maybe because last week’s episode was so great, this one didn’t quite reach the feels of that one. -I wish they’d had focused more on the Barry and Nora story here. I get that they want to give everyone something to do and that last week was all about Nora too, but at the moment that is the most intriguing story to me. It just felt like there was too much going on in the rest of it. Not everyone needs to have something going on every episode. They can still have meaningful interactions and contributions without a separate sl. -Liking Cicada as a villain so far -Nora is really scared of Cicada. What knowledge does she have? -Iris investigating! -Still very curious about what’s going on with Iris and Nora in the future. Her attitude suggests something more than the conclusion Iris reached I don’t have a post (yet?) in last episode’s thread, but let me just say here that Nora is a great addition to the show and her being from the future and them allowing timetravel back has made everything just a little bit more intriguing. -Speaking of, is that really all the reaction we’re going to get to the 25 years missing article? Surely not? Excited for next week’s episode.
