This is from a Screenrant article about Arrow, but it mentions a bit about Flash (and other arrowverse shows) data as well :
-
I think it might be the end of the episode since Barry's outfits looks the same as what he is wearing in the videos of Barry and Nora from the filming of episode 18. But then again, most of Barry's outfits look the same, lol

I think Sherloque not standing among those shocked people points to him standing on the other side of the room and possibly telling them. Maybe Nora was planning on telling Barry and Iris in private later, but Sherloque tells the team. In the trailer it looks like he finds something which probably leads him to finding out. This image is interesting. You see Caitlin has is now standing next to Iris and Ralph has turned to Iris. And Nora is standing closer now. I think Barry speeds away

I've thought about the idea of them doing a timejump to 2024, but with Iris starting the central citizen 2 years early it seems they've set in motion the speeding up of things. I would prefer them to keep the 2024 date though. It's an interesting theory and it's definitely a way around certain things, but I wonder if people might feel cheated by an approach like this even if it did bring changes to the universe. Since Crisis happens, but also not really? And would they have to then do another big crisis on infinite earths crossover in 2024? Interestingly wrt to your theory, I was reading interviews/con stuff from right before Elsewords and both Grant and Stephen mentioned he flash getting to the newspaper article: Grant Stephen (Fan Fest San Jose 2018, Dec) I was wondering about this, because this was after the crossover was filmed, so at this point they must have already known that Crisis on Infinite Earths was coming in 2019, right? (I actually don't know, but I'm just assuming. Stephen at least usually knows what's going on with the crossover. And I think by then he'd actually already seen that last episode of the crossover as he had posted a pic that indicated he was watching it). It's possible/probable/likely that if they knew they just said it so they wouldn't spoil anything (or maybe they really didn't know at that point) or give anything away or make people suspicious that something was going on with that. But maybe somehow the 10 year thing is still the plan? But for instance Grant could have just said -I hope we can stick around long enough to see what's going on with that newspaper article. - without the addition of the 5 seasons. The question the guy asked stephen was: Will your show end with a series crossover finale against the reverse flash? (the question asker first talked about how stephen was on some show where he talked about the ezra miller casting and the guy also mentioned the 2024 news article.)

The whole thing with changing who Cicada is because of Nora is definitely bothersome and it's strange they haven't talked about her guilt beyond the episode she found out, As for Nora just being there I think they went with fixed points versus non fixed points to explain why her just being there is not changing as much as you'd expect. Barry's mother dying is a fixed point which is why changing that causes lots of consequences, and now that I think about it that might have something to do with how random some of the changes from flashpoint were. Things that are not fixed points can be changed without affecting much else outside of that thing that is changed. At least that's how I understand what they set up for time travel this season Now, of course, they're not very consistent with it. The episode where Sherloque meets Irene (?) kind of speaks against that. So yeah that's too bad there wasn't more thought put into that. While I personally would also have preferred if they kept the story where Nora couldn't go back to the future rather than they let her stay, I'm glad they set up the fixed point versus non fixed point system to be more relaxed about time travel, even if it doesn't really cover everything (like how now history will remember another West working at the precinct or that there was another speedster working with the Flash). I just want them to be more consistent about fixed points (aka either non-fixed points don't change much or the butterfly effect works on everything like in the ep with Irene). But... I like time travel and future stories and I want to see more of it and not less, travel to the past, travel to the future, characters interacting with future self shenanigans, all of it, so yeah, I still prefer a more relaxed approach to time travel consequences (even though I hadn't really considered how jarring it is that they haven't further explored Grace being in a coma because of Nora also punching the satellite. I suspect that might come up now that we've seen the older version of Grace. Plus more discussion on timeline stuff after they find Nora's working with Thawne to save Barry.) I'm guessing Barry disappearing is a fixed point so we'll see what consequences that has. But since we won't see whether that happens until next season I'm not sure how Nora's storyline will or could even wrap up this season. (Having said all this, here's a little bit of my own inconsistency: despite wanting a more relaxed approach, it still annoys me a little that Barry's mom couldn't be saved even though Barry's mom dying is a change from the real timeline and saving her should be considered correcting the change Thawne made to the timeline. If we're talking about consequences, what about all the people whose lives where changed for the worse because of that timeline change? What about all the people who became a meta/died in this timeline who wouldn't have otherwise because the particle accelerator exploded 7 years too soon? It shouldn't be a fixed point, but somehow it is/became one)

Eh, I prefer the show's looser take on time travel consequences than what they had before (even if they're not being consistent). I know it's a different show, but If the legends can go back to the past, change events , kill goons before their time, with zero changes to the arrowverse as we know it , I don't see why Nora and other characters on the Flash shouldn't be able to have a little fun time traveling. This is not a knock on legends btw, I much prefer their just have fun with time travel approach to the every little change will change something else even if it literally has nothing to do with it approach. it's just the different rules for time travel on both shows is something that gets to me, lol

Enjoyed the episode a lot: -west-allen family for the win! Those were some great scenes. While I did sort of agree with Nora that the timing of Iris' requests was a bit off, I loved the sentiment of the storyline. And I love it when those three have cute/sweet scenes together. More please -I'm not really against Cicada, and don't think he's quite as bad, but the way he drew out his - every single one of you- in the cortex, made me laugh. It seemed so unnecessary. I like that the new versions seems to have more powers and is from the future. I love time travel things so adding another character from the future is great for me, lol, I remember Sarah Carter from Falling Skies -About Zack's tweets: I could take or leave that joke, but Barry singing to Iris and Nora? That would have been the best! -Anyway, I continue to love Nora. Glad she joined this season -That was a great heart to heart between Joe and Barry, but it wouldn't have taken much to make it even better. Just have Barry mention Iris when he gave his advice about making each other better. It seemed like such a logical connection that I was surprised when he didn't. Though I felt he was thinking about her in that moment. -I know in the past people liked to complain that Iris was always giving Barry 'peptalks' (never me though, and I call them heart to hearts thank you very much 😋), but I miss the Barry and Iris heart to hearts! Though technically it's only been 4 episodes since we got one/several (ep 12 was the last one I think?). I know some people think that's because of Nora, and while of course there is only so much time and a Nora-Iris heart to heart means there probably won't be time for another heart to heart etc, I think it also has to do with their new way of structuring episodes (and also Barry having more one on one chats with different characters in general this season). It has its pros and cons. I think the way they've structured plots and subplots has helped a lot with managing the large cast, but because a lot of the times the subplots are so separated (not always, last night's episode did a pretty good job of integrating all the plots) when characters are not in the same subplot they don't really talk about their issue to a character outside of their subplot. The characters that are grouped together sometimes don't even interact much with characters in the other group (again in episodes like last night that wasn't an issue. Joe and Barry talked despite being part of different subplots). I prefer it when Iris is Barry's main confidante, but for them to talk they need to be in the same subplot. For example 5x15, In a previous season even if Iris wasn't overly involved with the main plot with King Shark and was working through her fears with Joe we would have still probably gotten a quick moment of them discussing the cure issue or a quick moment of Iris and Barry discussing Iris' fears. -I love how being parents has expanded both Barry and Iris as characters, but especially Iris (since Barry has always gotten a lot of different material). And just in general I think we've been getting great solo Iris material this season.
-
If there is a big moment, I like that they kept it a bit more mysterious (even if we did find out, lol). The marketing, promos, descriptions and even the way some actors/Ep answer questions (flat out telling you whether this or that storyline is or isn't going to happen) tend to give a lot away for this show. There was a Flash preview in DC Daily: Nothing that we don't know, but Hector does say: So it looks like Nora is going to be right about her objection to the plan

Interesting! Since it's someone that puts a wrinkle in Thawne's plan I think it could be godspeed or some time traveling speedster, someone who Thawne couldn't plan for. Or...maybe another member of the West-Allen family? Last week during an Instagram live Danielle apparently said there is a big moment at the end of the episode

I was thinking it could be an Arrowverse wide time jump, but that would be a pretty big (and risky) swing to take (and probably not very likely). It would help all the shows clearly delineate pre and post crisis crossover since it would be hard to immediately return to the status quo way of storytelling. But who knows what other changes they will make. About Batwoman, she's almost surely going to be in the crossover or at least planned to be. In Iris' 2049 article Batwoman was mentioned as one of the characters that fought alongside Flash against the reverse flash. Others mentioned were Green Arrow, Elongated Man, Atom and Supergirl. The 2024 article mentioned Hawkgirl, I don't know if they're still planning on that.

Yeah, Mark Pedowitz did say characters would die. I still don't think it's Oliver (though them announcing the shortened last season did up the chances). Maybe if he sacrifices himself it will be people thinking he's dead but he's alive somewhere. I'm not sure about the other shows. Like I said, Oliver made the deal to save Barry and Kara in 2018 not 2019, so Barry and Kara are by no means safe in the next crossover (and as far as we know as of right now even with the deal made Barry still disappears in 2024 in the future), but yeah unless they're planning a time jump I'm not sure how they could actually have Barry disappear for 25 or more years and still continue the show. I could maybe see them having Barry disappear for a shorter amount, say 5 years, but they'd have to do a time jump after the crossover to the year Barry comes back. I'm not sure if that would be something they'd be willing to do, but if there ever was a time they could do a time jump for all the shows it would be around crisis on infinite earths. I suppose it would be funny if Barry returned in 2024 rather than disappeared and it would give all of the shows new material to mine. I think batwoman is a mid-season show (maybe? for some reason that's what I've been thinking but I don't know if it's confirmed) so they could just start the show in the year of the time jump.

Watching that vid of Stephen made me sad. It'll make me sad to see the show go. I hope they end the show on a hopeful note. I know in the comic crisis so that if the future changes you can have that happy moment where the characters realize things will be ok. Of course, It's not necessary that they know, it can still be impactful since the audience would know it changed and what was prevented

I remember the description for next episode states Nora didn't like the way that Barry planned to go about stopping Cicada. Now that ep 15 aired, I guess that might mean she doesn't agree with the asking Cicada plan? I wonder what that means with regard to Thawne's plan. Apparently the way he is stopped does matter? Or maybe she just doesn't think it's a good idea.
-
On the one hand asking Cicada is very sweet, and very team Flash. On the other hand it's basically telling the big bad what your plan is, lol. I wonder though if they will use this to end Cicada's arc. Maybe he decides to use the cure and then the rest of the season focuses on the future Loved the Joe and Iris scene. Seeing Iris boxing was awesome and I hope it's something they keep in the show (again, it was referenced in season 1). In general, I think it's a good idea if all the members of the team start learning some self defense. I actually think that is the benefit non meta team members have in the fight against Cicada. Since they never had powers in the first place the stakes don't change and their mind is not so fixated on solving everything/fighting with powers. I will say that I don't agree that this is a confidence issue, or at least it's not just a confidence issue. Not going to the office seems like a smart idea. The fact that Cicada knows who Iris is should be taken a lot more serious? It's not a question of if he'll attack again, but when. It shouldn't be too hard to find out where she lives, who she associates with. He knows she works with team flash and looking at who Iris interacts with it shouldn't be too hard to find out the identities of the rest of team Flash. But it was nice to have an entire subplot focused on what Iris was feeling. I thought the plot with king shark was surprisingly well done. I found myself really sad for Tanya and Shay at the end. I did go 'that's westallens spot!' when they had their balcony chat 😂 I wish they'd have Joe and Iris at star labs at the end to at least have some connection between the A and B plot (plus it would mean at least one scene with both Barry and Iris in it, lol). I'm really enjoying this season, but I do miss my solo Barry and Iris scenes (they're still there, and I've loved the ones we've got, but there's less of them)

Poster for the episode from the official twitter account. I'm not sure why they waited so long to post this.

I don’t know that I would personally be angry, but I can see your point. Her role was definitely more as that of Barry’s emotional center in the comic rather than an active participant than we’d want to seeing the show. By comic standards, I was pleasantly surprised by how present Iris (present or past version) was and how she was treated as actually important to Barry. Iris’ role is much better than a lot of the early stories from Barry's run where she’s basically only there so the writers can make their, lol the irony of Iris not knowing the man she’s dating is the Flash jokes or to be an obstacle because she doesn't know he's the Flash. The later stuff from Barry's run and beyond is better with really nice things, but for me it’s not until the newer comics, Rebirth being one, that I felt Barry and Iris as a couple were as romantic as Wally and Linda; where I felt Iris’ importance to Barry felt real on an emotional level. I think it's also one of the first times we saw their meet cute (clarifying: I’ve not read their stories in order and there is still a lot I haven’t read and I’ve barely read any Wally and Linda, so maybe it’s better to say it’s one of the stories I read where I felt they were as romantic and their relationship felt integral to the story being told) Obviously, this is still mostly through the Barry lens (but I liked seeing some of Iris' personality in the flashbacks) so I sort of see what you're saying. I guess I’m trying to say I liked the Iris content in Rebirth, but I say agree to disagree!
-
Wait, are we talking about Johns Rebirth where Barry comes back from the speedforce? Iris may not have a big, active part, but she was pretty present if I remember. They even flashed back to when Barry and Iris met and if I understand correctly it's the comic that established Iris as Barry's lightning rod (don't quote me on that, but from what I understand, before rebirth lightning rod was more of a Wally thing, while rebirth made it a speedster thing, but I could be entirely wrong here it's not something I looked into I just saw a comment someone made once) It is the comic that gave us as long as I remember Iris i'll be all right, too

From those picture above it looks like the Central City Citizen has its own building in 2049, pretty cool! I'm also thinking it's the end of the episode. Barry must be really angry to just leave Nora in the future in the episode after, if that is how it plays out, especially without a real goodbye. As far as he knows he doesn't really see her again since he disappears shortly after she is born, so I think the reveal and anger is recent and there hasn't been a lot of time to process or talk over what was revealed.
-
This lineup looks like it would make a fun panel! That fanexpo panel they did a few years ago with Candice (and Zoe!), Grant, Carlos, Danielle and Tom was pretty great!
-
Oh, that could make sense. I'd expect godspeed to be a fairly large presence since the episode is named after him. They're so cute!
-
I'm not sure, but I think the Nora that has scenes with godspeed has a braid, so that is probably 'flashback' Nora. I do wonder if godspeed somehow also has something to do with why Nora traveled to the past in the first place (or is that what you meant, sorry if I misunderstood!)
-
Yeah, I also find it unlikely that Oliver would die in the middle of the season. I don't think Oliver took Kara and Barry's place in crisis. Whatever he traded, he traded it for Barry and Kara to survive in 2018 not 2019. Oliver already received his end of the deal, Barry and Kara didn't die when running across earth during Elseworlds. What´s left is for Oliver hand in his part of the bargain, whatever it was.

Interesting, is this the future flashback episode Todd teased? I almost wish they'd just done an entire episode with just Nora's backstory. I fear there won't be enough time to flesh out both the flashbacks and the trip to the future. Still looking forward to this though. I hope future Iris makes an appearance. I saw a video someone made and it looks like Barry and Nora speed land into that location (the future?) and then have that conversation mentioned. I think the reveal might be at the end of 17 and then Barry is like we're going to fix this right now or something. The question is, what is it that he plans to do? Not kill Thawne, right? (I prefer not to comment on Candice and Danielle, but I wanted to mention I've seen Candice like that meme when that page posted it before so I wouldn't read too much into the timing of this one. I don't remember exactly when. I want to say during the summer or maybe second half of s4, but I don't remember )

These two were posted in January and February but I think the interviews might be from Comic con ? Not sure In Its Fifth Season, Candice Patton Thinks ‘The Flash’ Found Its Balance With Her ‘Killer’ Role, Danielle Panabaker Is Happy To Grow Candice Patton Earning An Advanced Acting Degree At ‘Flash’ University I think it was during last summer that Candice/Iris/Wa fans raised 10.000 for charity (Girls inc.) in Candice's name. Someone from Girls inc. wrote a thank you email to/about that campaign. I thought it was a nice letter.
