I don't think Levi got shot by anyone, I think he shot himself. I think he knew that Eve was still in love with Gavin that was different from how she felt about him. Don't think most husbands would have been as forgiving with him as Gavin was. There wasn't anyone else in the warehouse nor around outside of it to shoot him. I also didn't hear two gunshots going off. Glad that he decided to stay in 1988 and that Gavin and family went back down to try and stop these sinkholes but I get the feeling from his mother's interactions with everyone she still hasn't told the whole story of just who Gavin's dad is and why he is so dangerous. Glad that Ty beat Tammet but I have to wonder how long Tammet will allow Paara to stay with him? The whole Lucas/Veronica friendship/romance, eh.

I think Daemon had a lot going on emotion wise this episode....first he hears about his brother dying...then Rhaenys tells Rhaenyra that "the Greens are coming for you Rhaenyra and they are coming for your children too."...I think 2 episodes back Daemon did realize he cared about Viserys and how much pain he was in and it made him angry how the Hightowers were controlling him. He's hated Otto for the longest time because he sees him for what he truly is, a charlatan and a power hungry scumbag....I do think that Daemon loves Rhaenyra....When he went to see her after their child was born prematurely and she was cradling the baby in her arms the look on his face was sorrow...then when he was down by the water he was grieving the loss of that child (his second child lost)...so I don't think its a question of not loving anyone...he just realizes I think better than most that no matter what terms that Aegon offered, Otto at some point would have poisoned that well and they would be right where they are now so they all better buckle down and realize that even though they might not want war or fire the first shot, the first shot was already fired by the usurpation of the Iron Throne to Aegon over Rhaenyra, Viserys chosen heir....Daemon aIso grabbing Rhaenyra by the neck didn't bother me because I think he was in some ways trying to show her its better to have his hands there than a rope or sword from the Greens and that is why he said they had the power because they had more dragons which they do...I guarantee that Viserys never, ever told Aegon about the "Song of Fire and Ice" either...that is why Rhaenyra is really Viserys chosen heir and why he believed she would rule like he did...Aemond can drop dead for all I care...,.he does not have the bond that Laena had with Vhagar....He was purposely making Vhagar taunt not only Lucerys but also Arrax to a certain degree knowing that it would trigger the smaller dragon into a fear response....He wanted Vhagar to attack Arrax thereby causing Arrax to become erratic and causing Lucerys death but that backfired in a major way....by the way he was flying the dragon so close to Arrax, if he was merely trying to intimidate all he would have had to do was simply continue flying right above Arrax and Lucerys....not making aggressive moves and having Vhagar snap at Arrax and Lucerys....maybe he wasn't trying to start a war but his blatant whining about losing an eye and being pissed off over it, then challenging Lucerys to cut out his eye in the Barathean hall and then going aggressively after Arrax & Lucerys, thus causing Vhagar to finally snap Arrax in half and eat Lucerys, have now done just that....I am hoping its Vermithor that takes him and Vhagar out...hate to see the big girl go but a battle of the Titans (Vermithor v Vhagar) would be epic....I also think this entire situation is going to scare the hell out of Alicent because she will know how Rhaenyra is going to feel losing her son, just like she felt when Aemond lost his eye and she was unhinged over an eye, not a life that was lost....the Greens may have bit off more than they can chew.

I kept feeling as I was watching the end of Ep 8 that after she gave him milk of the poppy, that she was going to smother him with a pillow, especially when she turned her back on him and sat there....after Veymond losing his head at the gathering that morning I thought at that point anything was possible. Technically they did overdose the Viserys...they had him so doped up on milk of the poppy that he didn't know whether he was coming or going.

Supposedly we won't have season 2 until sometime in 2024...ugh. I know, right...how in the world when you have someone like Larys and he does something for you and you discuss payment does he say "Well your Grace, instead of gold or silver, all you need to do is show me your bear feet and I will just play with myself a little bit" and then she agrees to that? Alicent isn't exactly worldly. Given the shot we had of her in bed with Viserys, she didn't appear to be enjoy what was going on. In any event that was definitely one of the creepier moments that Larys had and he's just creepy to begin with.

I got the feeling it was more than just one night. In fact I thought it was more than that as Rhaenyra to me at least hinted that it was but maybe I just misread it. Frankly I think Alicent is jealous and wants Ser Criston for herself, hence why she stopped him in the garden from killing himself.

Violet, it is very difficult watching a loved one retract into a world where they can't be reached. My MIL is 96 and she was diagnosed in 2009. I began noticing subtle things a couple of years before that she either wasn't doing or seemed to need help with. Even though she had been a nurse (as am I) she continually refused to see a doctor when I would ask her if I should make an appointment for her. I think somewhere in her subconscious she knew what was going on but didn't want to hear those words from the doctor. Even after her diagnosis, she refused to take the medication prescribed by her doctor because as she said "it makes me sick to my stomach". It is truly a cruel, cruel disease that literally robs a person of themselves.

Alzheimer's is such a gutting disease. Its so difficult watching a loved one slowly slip away into a world where they can't be reached. We are going through it with my MIL. She is 96. She fell in early Dec and broke her hip. I'm an ER/trauma RN so the minute I heard the crash at 11:45pm I knew we were in trouble. I was the one night that I was off, our son who is a fire fighter/EMT was off and my husband was off. I have been providing daily care for mom and then when I work we have had someone come in that she has had for the last 7 years. I prepared my husband for what would potentially come with regards to surgery, Anesthesia is the big unknown. How it effects the brain of those with Alzheimer's can very widely. Unfortunately it put mom into a world where she no longer even recognizes me. We have her in a fantastic facility that can provide round the clock care as she is no longer able nor willing to walk. She was the inspiration for me to go into the nursing field. She was one of the 1st RN's in NJ after WWII to be certified in placing IV's. Prior to that change, doctors were the only one's placing IV's into patients. I think the one thing that TIU has done really well is showing how difficult it can be for caregivers of those with Alzheimer's. My best friend who lost her grandmother while we were still in high school to Alzheimer's once said to me when I asked her how she was doing said "My grandma isn't here any longer, its just that her body doesn't know to stop". I see so many elderly patient's that come through our emergency department and you'd be surprised how many have very few family members with them. While it is a horrible disease for the person it effects, its also very draining emotionally on those around the patient as well. I got really choked up when Randall and Kate told Miguel how much they loved him. I think that was probably the first time he had been told that by anyone outside of his mom. I also think that he saw the devotion his mom had for her sister and that gave him the foundation to take care of Rebecca the way he did. It's great that Kevin has the financial ability to care for Rebecca and Miguel by having full-time care there with them but unfortunately many people don't have that ability and it is why it is so difficult for family members to be caregivers. I can't tell you how many family members have said to me over the years "We have to have mom/dad/grandma/grandpa at the nursing home because we can't take care of them they way they need". So cudo's to TIU for showing the physical and mental drain that Miguel has gone through in caring for Rebecca.

Billy Idol! OMG, I am sorry, but I am now giggling hysterically at that thought as the catalogue of Billy Idol songs run through my head....sometimes we need a light moment....the minute the music started and I knew the song, I knew we were losing Miguel.

I agree that Tom Christie is an interesting case as well. I think in watching Jamie and Claire together and seeing how much they truly do love each other, that he is realizing that Jamie is not the father of Malva's child. I also think in some aspect he suspects that his son is but doesn't want to face that truth at this point. A scandal of that sort is not looked well upon in this day and age and in 1778-1780 its would be something that would cause Tom to be shunned. I also think he knows that Claire truly does try to help people and that she would never deliberately hurt or kill anyone, especially since she took Malva under her wing so to speak and was teaching her ways to help others. Also I think he knows deep down that neither of his children are of good character. That would be a hard thing as a parent to acknowledge. I really liked how they resolved the issue of Jemmy's paternity but hated how they dealt with lice. First off shaving one's head doesn't rid the head of lice. You need something that will smother them. Vinegar back before there was pharmaceutical products was the main source of treating head lice along with oil of rosemary which was very effective. Of course there were other treatments like smearing on arsenic and bathing in viper juice to some other really unpleasant things that individuals did that I won't post. Suffice it to say, if you do a search of St Catherine of Genoa, you will understand. Anyway, with all of them being that close, Brianna would also have had to cut her hair. Lice aren't fussy, once they find a host they will infect all those within a close proximity. They don't jump or fly but they do crawl and especially in the late 1700's there were many layers of clothing which with they could attach and find their way to a host. Ian rescuing Jamie was reminiscent of Jamie and Claire rescuing him in Jamaica. I kept waiting and waiting for those who lived on the Ridge to show up with Ian when he first came to Jamie but nary a one stepped forward other than those Lizzie was able to summon and that was pitiful to say the least. If I were Claire once she is released and found innocent of Malva's murder, she shouldn't administer care to any of them for what they did not only to her but to Jamie as well. That was one of the things that made me really ticked the entire episode. Well, I thought the season was good albeit short but hopefully next season will be just as enjoyable if not more since they are doing 16 episodes.

Elida Geisha coffee is $1,029 per pound. It is from Panama and is very expensive becuase it has unique cultivating conditions and only a certain amount of it can be grown every year. Gesha coffee actually began in Ethopia and is names after the forest from which the beans were first discovered came from. It has a very distinct flavor and is one of the most exclusive coffees in the world. It was brought from Ethopia to Costa Rica in the 1950's and then taken to Panama. The distinctive taste is what sets it apart from other coffees. It can be flowery and fruit like flavor that varies depending upon the origin. Coffee shops actually have to bid on this coffee just to get their hands on it which has lead to the very high price tag. I have a colleague who is an exceptionally talented surgeon (cardiothoracic) and is very well compensated for his skill. We were having a meeting about 6 months ago and he brought Gesha coffee to the meeting, brewed it and then told us about the coffee. It was a nice treat and I guess many could think he was throwing it around like "I can afford this but you can't type of thing" but that isn't the type of person he is. I have been his lead trauma RN for well over 7 years now and he has always treated myself and our staff not as employees but as equals which is very rare in our fields. About 15 yrs ago he took us to this very well known French restaurant here in LA that has since closed for a Christmas party and gifted us not only with a full 7 course French dinner but also gave us all cashmere sweaters, 14K tri-color necklaces but myself and our chief anesthesiologist received Rolex watches. Like I said he is very, very generous and doesn't do this to impress but takes care of our staff. Now I've always been the 7-11 coffee type. Milk/sugar and I am good to go. While this coffee was nice, I wouldn't spend $1,029 per pound, $600 per pound or $60 a cup for it. A 16oz cup of coffee at 7-11 is $1 and that is for any size. That's always been my style. Trust me as an ER/trauma nurse, I know coffee. I have had more coffee pass my lips and keep me going than most people. The Gesha coffee was alright, but it wasn't $1,029 alright. My thought on seeing the numbers after everyone at different times during this episode was to show that essentially people could be bought if the number was right. Basically everyone has a number in this episode. I think it varies given the person and what it is they are trying to do but in that world, everyone has a number. I'm still not convinced that Kate is doing this to benefit herself but it is a grand play against Prince and the billionaire class to rope them all together and then choke them off, one by one until Prince is finally brought to his knees by Chuck and the AG's office by buying off people and Kate will be the one from the inside to make that happen and amass all the dirty laundry to give Chuck and herself the catch of a lifetime. It propels Kate's congressional, possibly senatorial campaign and ultimately as she stated a few season back, possibly propelling her to the White House. I think that is the play. The first scenes from this episode to me were crystal clear in making that happen when she told him about Prince wanting the meeting and so on and he told her "no, your going to go and your going to accept". What better way for Chuck to make things happen than to have someone he ultimately trusts on the inside to get the dirt and to take all of them down, including the governor because ultimately that is Chuck's goal, being governor of NY and has been since season 1.

We’ve got a Masterbuilt smoker and love it. We were looking at the Big Green Egg but decided on the Masterbuilt because it was a better smoker.

Its a freeway but they were on surface streets here in LA, most likely Wilshire Blvd. As for scuba diving, its extremely popular out here. Several doctors I work with along with some paramedics, fire fighters, fellow nurses and even the priest at our parish all scuba dive. We are right by the Pacific Ocean so that's not so abnormal. In fact in the mornings when I am leaving work I will see several vehicles/SUV's that all have the scuba symbol on the back. So when the earth isn't opening up and swallowing people and transporting them back to 10,000BC they are donning scuba tanks and diving off the coast.

Absolutely made me cringe. As a medical professional no, injecting it into the infection isn’t the way to go. She could have lifted his buttocks and injected it there or even in the upper part of his arm, but the buttocks is the better choice. Just because he passed out from pain and infection and then got however many CC’s of whatever antibiotic they had on hand in the RA, it would take a bit of time for him to regain consciousness again. It isn’t an instantaneous response.

Maybe with all the other ridiculousness happening he will find the prehistoric equivalent of marijuana and he can be happily high for his time in Great Beyond….

France doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the USA either…so technically he could go to Switzerland and then to France….I don’t think Afghanistan, Morocco, UAE, Cote d’ Ivoire, Montenegro or the Vatican have extradition treaties either. Somehow envisioning Bobby Axelrod in a priests collar and cassock gives me a slight case of the giggles.

I live in LA County and commute to DTLA to work. After the past 18 mos and literally being wrapped in plastic to do rounds at the hospital, people here would see the sinkhole, look at what potentially fell in and then would say “meh, time to go”…. I do however like your cloud of sparkly pixie dust narrative. Totally agree no one would think anything of it.

Well I would have thought with the promo’s during the NFL on consecutive Sundays would have helped garner an audience but apparently not. It came in at a 0.35 with 1.64 million watching. Those are not good numbers for a premier. I think at this point I will DVR it and if they make it through the season and there is talk of a season 2 I’ll binge watch it to catch up.

I think the Finola in suspensia is actually a clone of the Finola from the pilot episode who experience Kieran...that was the closest she’d ever experienced debris and touched it before touching the piece tonight.

When Ash got into the car the driver stated that “Otto says George located the piece of debris”. Ash replied “the mans a genius”. While George keeps wrapping himself in aluminum foil maybe that acts as a transmitter for his location instead of shielding him. I’m not convinced especially by Maddox’s statement to Finola about “men like your father are like pieces of debris themselves. When they are in the right hands they can do tremendous good, when they are in the wrong hands they are dangerous”, that George either is the head of INFLUX and therefore that was why Maddox wanted him dead OR while working for INFLUX after they “reanimated” him, he owes allegiance to them. At least that is the way I’m thinking it’s going.

I felt the same way when I saw the first episodes of “Nurse Jackie” and she was using a mortar & pestle to crushing percocet and then reglued her Sweet & Low packets because she placed the crushed percocet in her coffee for during her shift. Ugh...of course the running joke was that anytime one of us on shift was having an “off day” on the floor someone (usually one of our trauma docs trying to be funny) would say “well looks like Katie didn’t bring her special Sweet & Low today”....we’d chuckle but it still a bit of a grind in the back. Also can’t watch 9-1-1 either because that flaming piece of garbage isn’t even close to reality. That could be part of the reason why not one member (either active or retired) from the LAFD (Los Angeles Fire Dept) is involved in any capacity with the show. My son is a fire fighter with LA County FD (the county fire department) and even members of their department were approached about contributing/working with the writers and all declined.

So with the ending of this episode and the Native America talking about 4 different types of metal and the dark metal wind coming next, are they going in the direction of Native American’s being the forefathers of the alien spacecraft or related somehow?

The Pacific here in CA barely reaches 65 degrees during the summer months when it hits 110+ in the Santa Clarita Valley where I live. I grew up in NJ, specifically in Ortley Beach, then Toms River, Forked River and Cape May. In July the Atlantic gets to about 70-73 degrees which is lovely. In fact in September after Labor Day ocean temps get routinely to 75 degrees. Also spent some time in FL and the Gulf of Mexico gets like bathtub water with temps in the high 80’s to low 90’s.

Maybe she feels (since she stated that she is the one at fault for the accident) that her life isn't supposed to get better and that she deserves worse for causing what has happened to their son. Guilt will eat you up alive if you allow it to. I don't think its a question of love because I truly believe she loves Craig and that she loves Dario. I just think she can't allow someone to forgive her before she is ready to forgive herself. Truth be told that day may never come for her. I also think that there is more to the accident than just her getting in the car and driving off with their child. I think she was either under the influence of drugs/alcohol and that impaired her judgement and she drove anyway instead of calling for a cab/Uber/Lyft, etc., to pick her and her son up.

I think the reason why Julia can't forgive herself for driving the car that day is because she either was drunk or possibly high off opiates (not an uncommon problem for many women who either work or stay home to care for the house, etc.) Craig's incessant "I forgive you, I really forgive you" can't get through to her subconscious because she has not forgiven herself for that day. Maybe she and Craig had been having an argument about her drinking or pill popping and she grabbed Dario, got in the car and took off, only to have an accident, that the end result was their son having a lifelong TBI (traumatic brain injury). That's my feel of how this possibly all went down. I think if it had been something where another driver had caused the accident that might be an easier bridge to get over VS Julia being to potential sole cause for this accident. We shall see where this takes us exactly that's where I think the crux of the matter lies.
