A lot of times its not the salon's that buy. Its sold to clients. Lots of small shops don't have "exclusive" products so they don't care. You can also buy tube socks, videos, jewelry and other odds and ends.

That's the point. Either they planted and nurtured it, or they sat by while someone else did. Watching them do mental gymnastics while trying to explain how its okay that their boys called women cunts ("...but they deserved it") would be some must see tv.

So, its far too late for this suggestion, but I would love it if the reunion show included a segment with Bobby, Bobby's mom, Bryan and Bryan's mom all talking about how Bobby and Brian behaved towards the women in the crew. I think that would be fascinating... Ginger beer is soda. It's like ginger ale, but with more ginger and far less sugar.

I thought that I heard somewhere that KK is going to helm a L&HH: Houston (NOLA??, Shreveport?, or somewhere rachetness goes to die??). Am I imagining things? -
I agree that the Vet Life needs a little more vet and a little less life, but I loved this week's episode with the tiger. The setup where the clinic is also responsible for the local shelter responsibilities seems like a good way to encourage vets to come to an area, but at the same time provide low cost services to the community through treating lost and abandoned animals. That tiger was clearly still in it's kitten phase, and it was nice to see that Dr. Lavigne be so comfortable around the cat while Dr. Ross was clearly thinking "TIGER" the entire time he was examining the cat. I giggled during the scene with the cat getting his shots when he swiped at Dr Ross who was like "well, I guess she's done with her exam" meanwhile the cat rolled over grabbed Lavigne's ankle and wrapped himself around his leg like he was a little tiny housecat. There is still too much of the family for me, but this week's story with the wrapping of the mobile unit and the spay and neuter event at least showed the families more engaged in the business. It was also refreshing to see the discussion of how vets and vet techs deal with animal to human transmittable diseases and protocols. I'll stick it out through the rest of the season or until Pit Bulls and Parolees returns. ETA: Was I the only one who was gobsmacked at Dr. Jeff's cancer diagnosis? The loss of all of his hair (including the mustache at the end) just killed me.

I've been wondering if this weekend's events will have a chilling impact on the DM meet-n-greets. Over in the Pit Bulls and Parolees thread, we've been discussing the fact that Tia Torres has come out and said that she and her kids (all of whom are adults) will significantly be reducing the amount of public appearances they do and are basically pulling back from meet-n-greets completely after the death of the young lady from the Voice and some bad experiences they've had at their own facility with crazy folks. And this is a woman who has made her life providing jobs to felons and violent criminals. Seeing how so much of what these girls have been able to monetize from their reality show fame is based on these public appearances (where I have to imagine, security is limited, and screening non-existent), I wonder if any of the moms are concerned for the kids safety?

The no adoptions from the tours thing isn't entirely a surprise. Very few people are in a position to make a snap decision about getting a dog. And I'm sure given Tia's adoption rules (the big one being no first time dog owners but then the home check, etc.), that decreases the numbers even more. Seems to me that locals are the most likely to adopt and the least likely to tour (how many of you guys do touristy kinds of stuff in your own town/city?) so the combination of the two facts leads to not a lot of people coming to tour and then ultimately leaving with a dog. However, it does seem like they have a lot of volunteers that end up taking animals...

Well, as a result of this incident Tia posted on FB that they are closing the NO location to visitors again - permanently. Seems there was another incident the day before where a family came and went into and area marked "Do Not Enter" (I think you can see it in the video posted above) and began scaring the animals in that area. When staff came to respond to all the commotion, the family got belligerent and had to be escorted out. The combination of the two incidents seem to have Tia spooked about her personal safety and the safety of the dogs. So thanks idiots, for ruining it for the rest of us...

I think that we will see her on Botched. If not this year then certainly next when she compares her cut rate boob job to the one Sky got on Black Ink Crew and realizes Mona set her up with some swap meet doctor. D Smith could probably recommended someone who would have had her looking fly. -

Because I'm obsessed with being factually correct when it comes to these fools, I tried looking up Stevie J's music credits yesterday to see if there was something he worked on recently that perhaps we were all unaware of. What surprised me was the fact that his last two credits in 2014 and 15 were not for music he produced, but music where he was credited as the guitarist. I know he can play music (I actually spent time with him during my misspent youth at Daddy's House and have heard him play the piano a bunch of times), but I didn't realize that he worked as a studio musician and composer in addition to production and songwriting. Of course, I didn't recognize either of the recent artists (and funny enough, no credits for any of Joseline's work appear), but its possible that he's playing on someone's album or is being credited as Steven Jordan for working as a musician rather than production. -

My understanding is that she is 40-something and on the end of something that is spitting distance from 50. So she isn't in AARP yet, but she is AARP adjacent... -

So, I've got to ask the question. Is Alberto VO5 living in a ground floor commercial space on some busy thoroughfare in ATL? As they were showing Tommy walking down the street high as a kite, I said "Guess Alberto has high-rise dreams in ATL". It was noticeable because usually when folks are deep in apartment living, you only see the door opening from the inside, not the *stalk, stutter-step, stumble* up to the lobby. But then homeboy cracked open what looked like the door of a converted Starbucks, and I realized his living room window was covered with a ceiling to floor curtain, because his window was THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING!!! Then I said, "So when he's sitting on the couch with this crazy chick everyone walking by can look in his front door???" I swear Mona isn't even trying anymore...guess she's to busy cashing those L&HH checks -
Word! It's TV, it's not that deep...

@Cramps, you may be right. I just remember him and his crazy girlfriend going at it over which one had a worse habit. Celebrity Rehab, Couples Therapy - clearly I'm allowing my brain to rot with horrible reality pop culture
-
They all have previous MTV/VH1 ties so they know the deal Bam & April (Viva La Bam), Tiffany & SP (FoL & I Love NY), Briana & Brittney (TM3). Only non-MTV folks are Michael and Dina (and frankly as many damn reality shows as they have between them one or both may have been on the networks - wait- didn't Michael do Couples Therapy???) and Dame Dash who is a legitimate B-list celebrity.

I wondered why they never did the reveal on the dude who was springing the traps? Was I the only one who thought it might have been the same guy that ended up adopting Blondie? (Who by the way was adorable...) Speaking of which, Jackson needs to step his rescue game up. Take a page from Tia Torres. Always have carriers with you at a rescue because you never know when and animal is literally going to walk up to you like "Okay, can we go home now?" I get that he's used to being in shelters and dealing with captured ferals (and that generally ferals are not at all friendly), but c'mon...

I'm just spittballing here, but based on what was said around Kyra's absence for her pregnancy, I think that the contract obligates the moms to be present at and/or participate in every filming where there kids are on screen. I couldn't understand why all the moms were so into the "Kyra has to be here storyline" when clearly she has a newborn and thing like, oh say, breastfeeding might require her presence elsewhere. That's when it occurred to me that she might actually be contractually required to come and participate. So if that's the assumption, I can completely see Melissa saying "My options are sitting on set with Maddie and some big stars, or collecting a check myself while sitting in this damn red room with these harpies and the other kid that works my nerves." The "we're leaving" is way more about what Melissa wants than it is about Mackenzie. With respect to the families with other kids, the Dance Dads have all basically been turned into single parents. Holly and Kyra definitely have other kids that are home with dads/grandparents/friends etc. I believe that Kendall also has other siblings. Not sure about Brynn or Jojo.
-
BTW, I think Kira may be on a self-imposed time-out. It wasn't until she blew up last night that I thought about the fact she literally has not said a word for the last 2-3 episodes. In fact, in many of the scenes with the mom's she isn't even shown (I guess because she's just sitting there quietly). Perhaps someone has started to learn?
-
I wonder if this week's results were producer driven or not. First competition this season that actually had a full house (meaning - not a production led competition) and Maddie comes in FOURTH???!!!! I think Melissa was correct that the dance was pretty simplistic, but musical theater doesn't necessarily have to be simple. To me it looked like some lazy piece of crap Giana threw together at the last minute. Or perhaps this one was really put together by Abby all alone? Either way it was a hot mess of epic proportions (and that's saying a lot for this show).

My recollection was that she held herself out as some sort of Christian mystic back in the FoL days. It was very much along the lines of what she was shilling in the first episode - she sees things, the spirits speak to her, etc. Because the entire cast of FoL had an IQ of 8 they brought into it. In the Pentecostal and more fundamentalist Christian faiths, the terms Sister and Brother are honorifics. Its also something that some church ladies use, especially if they are old and unmarried, because it confers a bit of importance on them, when otherwise they would simply be Miss or Ms. When you're an old, unmarried church lady with kids but no husband, being Sister so-and-so keeps people from coming for your sinning ass. Personally, I've always thought that the lady was pretty damn close to being a sociopath. She clearly knows how to manipulate people, and will, when cornered, go on the attack rather than ever admit any wrongdoing. The second episode where she ran into group to try and stir everybody up so they would get the doctors back in the room and off her back was classic behavior. She has no business raising anyone's child and if Tiffany knows what's good for her, she'll move to another continent, because 3,000 miles away is not far enough.

Whether Maddie's next couple of years are successful in acting, making the jump from child star to adult actor is MUCH harder. Look at all those folks who were true stars as kids (Macaulay Culkin, Haley Joel Osmet, Johnathan Lipnicki) who couldn't make the transition. And it's even harder for girls. The girls of Disney (Miley, Raven, Demi Lovato, Zendaya) all have had a really tough time of it. Folks like Anna Chumsky, who actually could act as a child went through a phase where she didn't work regularly as a twenty something. The odds are stacked against her going from reality TV to child actor to successful adult actor, period.

Damn, this encapsulates everything I feel about this show. Ev'ry last one of 'em look like they would stink to high hell as they lean over you. The only one I can even slightly rock with are Ted and homegirl who did time in jail in AZ. At least the two of them look like they TRY.
-
Interesting shot at the end of the show. They show a close up of the kids sitting on stage waiting to hear who won. I think the shot is either of Sarah or Brynn in their ALDC jackets. Sitting directly behind them is a group of girls in some sort of army costumes with green flight caps on ALSO WEARING ALDC JACKETS. So the other "teams" competing were mostly Abby's students...

I think Todd took that tone with her because Phaedra has been coming after him PROFESSIONALLY all season. This wasn't about his support for his friend Apollo, or his lack of support for Kandi's best friend. She has been walking around basically saying he's a crappy producer who doesn't complete his work on time and blows off clients. At the same time, she has taken every opportunity to bash both Kandi and Todd for basically choosing Apollo over her in the breakup of their relationship. She desperately wanted Kandi to say, that she was ride or die for her and to tell Todd to leave Apollo alone. When Kandi didn't, and instead allowed Todd to make his own decisions about who he would or would not be friends with, Phaedra got all kinds of butt hurt and started to attack Todd, not about his friendship with Apollo, but about his business, which is all kinds of passive aggressive bull. They know how Phaedra is which is EXACTLY why Todd wanted to be paid. Because if the shoe were on the other foot, Phaedra would have expected every dime be paid for her work, or there would have been hell to pay.

I don't know about Cynthia, but Peter is (or was) in NYC on a regular basis. My SO works in Harlem and he and his co-workers often go to Park 112 after work. About a year ago, I'd see Peter there when I'd go up to meet them. Granted, it wasn't every month, but if I was there six times in the year he was there at least three of the times I went. It seemed like most of the staff knew him and were pretty friendly with him. I was surprised, because there wasn't anything in the show about him being in NYC, and this was before the Charlotte BarOne got off the ground, but it seemed like he got to the city a lot.
