  1. I don’t need him to be extra special. I don’t mind him having an equal. I like it when someone comes up with something he fails to see (which actually happens from time to time). I just don’t like how the character of River was presented. She doesn’t present as his equal so much as someone who is trying to always be better than him. Like SHE wants to show off for him. I haven’t seen any real affection yet. Just a lot of her trying to “take the piss out him”. Mostly talk of their bond and not show. I don’t have the doctor on a pedestal and I do like it when he gets made fun of a bit. Actually as a whole I often find the show predictable and poorly written but it’s cheesy and good fun for the most part….And I have nostalgia from when I was a kid watching the show. I mean the CHEESE. The Daleks still have a plunger arm for goodness sake. I think I can just not like her and not just because I don’t get it somehow and don’t want him to have an equal. Is ok. I was a Noel not Ben and a Stefan not Damen girl so I’m used to being minority!
  2. I guess I haven’t found my people. My opinion is going to be super unpopular. I don’t like River. I’ve only seen two episodes where she appears so far. Maybe it will change but I’m already a bit spoiled for future and I don’t think so. Maybe it’s already knowing she’s supposed to be some epic love. I’m watching for first time and currently in Season 5. First episode she appears she’s…ok. The episode is good. I don’t think she had much chemistry with Tennant or Smith but I bought 10 being very upset she died for him. I would have been ok never seeing her again but that wouldn’t fit the story as laid out I guess, already annoyed with “spoilers”. Second episode my god she’s annoying and cocky and she does the “Mary Poppins space walk” well before Princess Leia does right? She knows everything and figure’s everything out. Officially done with SPOILERS and at this point does Alex Kingston know that Amy is her mom? Doesn’t feel like it. Maybe I’m just not an Alex Kingston fan. I’ve liked everyone else. All companions and extra hanger ons…Even Mickey. Really not looking forward to seeing her pop up again and again. just my personal opinion but nobody in my life watches this show so nowhere to rant but here!
  3. Ok I like Sylvie but even I’m tired of her being super special. How does she have a temp pad? How did she know where to go to find them? This show breaks my brain. I think the acting saves all of it.

    S01.E10: Outside

The only people who see the pretty landscape are those who go out to clean and my guess is it’s so they will feel the need to clean off the camera to “show” everyone how nice it really is out there. Otherwise you’ll have a bunch of refusers once they get outside and nothing but a dirty camera. The powers that be really do want that outside camera clean to be able to see what’s going on out there. So the faulty tape lets the poison into their suits and Jules survives because Walker switched out the tape. I couldn’t see the bodies of the others and I was really looking. Maybe will have to watch again. How much Oxygen can she possibly have in that tiny pack? Will other silos let her in? Man now I’m invested for next season. Also did anyone else get the feeling mayor IT guy didn’t know about the big door George found? He seemed to blink for a second.

    S1.E04: Truth

Shoot so is Marnes dead now too? They left it ambiguous but I don’t see how he gets out of that. And are we supposed to know the guy with the shotgun? Are they just going to keep making us get invested in a character and then kill them? And did I really JUST realize that Juliette’s dad is Ser Jorah Mormont? Otherwise I don’t feel like a lot happened in this episode.
  6. I may be awful but I don’t feel bad for Keeley. It was an absolutely terrible idea to start sleeping with the person backing your business. I love her but that was just stupid.
  7. I was thinking the same thing but then wondered why the sheriff didn’t see any other bodies. I’d like to think somehow he and His wife survived and we’ll see them again. The show has got me hooked so far and I’m again wishing apple did full series drops. Smart that they don’t but wish they did. Also agree with earlier post about the rope. How was she going to get back up? She obviously can’t swim either and the rope stops before the water what was she gonna do?
  8. Welp. I only got halfway through and turned it off. And I loved the book. Bad casting and acting all around. Couldn’t tell if the “old days” were supposed to be fuzzy or it was bad film work. Don’t remember the book too well but…I know this didn’t grab me like it did. Oh well. Plenty of other tv but I’m disappointed. Really wanted this to work.
  9. That makes sense. So high school sweethearts maybe? Explains why their “relationship” feels so immature. Still not feeling the chemistry and disappointed the show seems to still be pushing that ship. Just focus on Todd and his family and maybe down the line find him someone he clicks with because usually I see it in whatever show Skyler is in and I’m just not seeing this one. In concept I can see why maybe it’s a good idea but maybe they need a new actress for Susan? And…As much as she was right to keep talking about it with him privately I was super mad at his sister for outing him to their mom about Veronica. As far as she knows he kept a pretty big secret for her. Which I guess good for Todd I was expecting him to drop that bomb within earshot of her husband when they were all arguing at dinner and he didn’t. Also can we figure out any way for him to sing? I don’t care how shoehorned or ridiculous they make it I’ll take it. The show makes me turn off my brain and all I know about court rooms and procedure and…real life…so I can keep doing that.
  10. Ok. The last episode is very weird. And very hard to watch. Also the crane episode I didn’t feel like they talked enough about the methods to calm yourself down. They made it seem like a couple of discussions about breathing and you got it. My opinion only.
  11. No the English farmer played Albert in a tv show opposite Jenna Coleman. Emily’s Albert was another guy but it does make me really want a scene between those two for the inside joke!
  12. Shoot. I’ve been in a MOOD and peaked in this thread because I needed to know if there was a happy-ish ending coming. So now I don’t know if I’ll finish anytime soon. Maybe after the holidays. I’ve enjoyed the show to an extent. The acting is very good but there were times when even I who likes to think I’m ok with dialogue heavy shows and don’t need action (I loved the west wing for goodness sake) was thinking…good god quit talking is anything going to HAPPEN? This show is DARK. I just need a little fluff right now. And count me disappointed to find out Victoria and Albert never cross paths on the show. (Really hope someone gets why I’m calling Trafford and Cornelia that.)
  13. For being such a mystery the third sibling was very underwhelming. And I know it happens alot because….Tv show…but man those 3 in no way look like siblings. And I still think lawyer ex girlfriend is bland too. They are pushing that romance HARD (“the one that got away”) and every episode I’m like meh. Still watching though. Skyler and MGH save the show.
  14. I’m enjoying the show on a mindless level. I don’t see any chemistry between Todd and that woman at the law office he’s pining over. I think we are supposed to right? I’m just thinking “girl he’s cute and all but he’s a mess, stick with the guy who committed to you and got you the giant rock on your finger.”
  15. Well I got nothing except when Sam’s dad opened the door I said out loud “It’s the Last Starfighter! You can’t kill the last starfighter Sam!” That was rough. I wanted Steve to get out of there. I don’t think Sam will stay locked up because mom has no will power. I did cry though.
  16. I THINK we can talk about this here but that’s exactly what some of the official post original Star Wars books portrayed if I remember correctly. That while the empire lost some power and direction without the emperor some generals (I think Thrawn?) stepped into the vacuum left by him and the rebels needed to continue to fight. I could see a general celebration happening and then a crackdown. Also I never really understood who they were fighting in the new movie sequels but I got the impression it was some leftover empire structure still functioning. I sometimes no longer feel like a real Star Wars fan because I’ve never watched the cartoon clone wars and I don’t understand all these additions who show up in the mandalorian or other Star Wars shows (and my nephews get frustrated when I don’t get excited and stare blankly at them when they are like “but it’s so and so from clone wars!) so I really appreciate this show builds characters on its own and it’s ok that the original Star Wars and rogue one (and obviously a couple of books I read over 20 years ago) is enough to enjoy this universe.

    S01.E08: Ezra

Yeah I think…I don’t know how I feel about that either. I think what really hit me is the “I’ve showed more compassion and understanding to a serial killer than my own son.” But isn’t that what happens? You’d never speak to a stranger the way you speak to family or yourself. I found myself tearing up at the sadness in both their faces realizing that the last interactions they had were angry and cold and they may really never get a chance to fix it. I lost my dad and I can’t even imagine having that kind of ending but I have a brother that never showed to our dieing fathers bedside so I can imagine the pure rage of that just fine. So any kindness I feel towards Ezra is due to the actor and his fathers love I guess. The ping pong thing was..surreal. A little morbidly funny? Liked that Steve played to win. I’m thinking I might have liked this show more dropped all at once. At least I hope so. Depends on how it ends. I’m all in now though so have to finish it.

    S01.E04: Company

I thought for a hot sec when Sam kinda smiled at the positive attention at work that Alan may have accomplished something. Then his mom showed up with the phone and I remembered “nope this guy is a psychopath”. Again the short episodes and the drip of info and action we are getting is driving ME mad. I’m far too used to binge watching I have no patience anymore. I am enjoying this though.

    S01.E03: Issues

I guess I like this show because I seriously considered staying up late last night to watch as it dropped. Watched over lunch and thought NOOO it’s over? Agree with everyone it’s too short. Really hoping doctor Steve (can’t remember character name) can talk a serial killer out of killing but I doubt it. I mean what’s the end game here he could never really let him go right? His kids and patients have to miss him by now is there a missing person manhunt happening?
  20. Well. Considering I fast forward through most of Penelope and Colin this is going to be a quick watch for me. If I even bother. I watched the first look footage. Are people really clamoring to see this or is it all PR? I can’t get a feel for the general opinion around them being the next couple. I actually would have liked to see Benedict. In 2 seasons I’ve seen no chemistry with Pen and Colin and I’m usually very easy when it comes to friends to lovers trope. Especially when it’s the girl with the crush. I may identify a little heavily with that kind of situation…..
  21. I don’t know. I think we’ve seen enough shows that give us graphic rape scenes and female suffering. I’m ok with the implication without seeing. We get it and from the blood on his cheek we see she fought him. I have my opinions on why continually showing violence against women isn’t necessary but man I’m just not feeling very eloquent today…there is an article on IGN about this that sort of expresses it….but also can’t seem to figure out links today. On another seemingly unpopular note I DID NOT enjoy the cat portion of this story. I found it slow, boring, and weird. I did laugh a little because it did feed into the cat stereotype that they are always plotting to kill us. Doesn’t mean I’m not interested in seeing some side stories but that one just didn’t do it for me.
  22. I’m under the assumption we are done with Rose. She is no longer the vortex and just a normal mortal so I assume her story is done. I think a second season would bring back the other Endless and Constantine and maybe Dreams immortal friend whose name escapes me but no need for Rose. Which I’m ok with. Her story was wrapped up in a pretty neat bow.
  23. That was a very neat, clean, surprisingly happy ending. Not sure how I feel about it all being wrapped up so easily yet but I’d watch another season. If Netflix does another one.
  24. The fact that Dream seems to genuinely care for his sister adds another layer to his refusal to make a deal with Burgess. Not only does he not want to talk to the mortal who imprisoned him no way is he giving up a beloved sibling to that puny human. Made me like him a bit more when he comes across as a whiny brother in a foul mood trying to get his sister to feel sorry for him.
  25. Tilda didn’t play Lucifer she was the Angel Gabriel. Peter Sormare was Lucifer. Those were some excellent characterizations for sure.
