  1. Based on Morse's future history with women (The Dead of Jericho, The Remorseful Day), she has a very good chance of shuffling off this mortal coil. I just hope they don't do a bait and switch on us and kill off Mrs. Thursday or Joan Thursday instead.
  2. Well said. Celia and Alan deserve each other.....
  3. I agree! Some movie channel showed a 1960s era movie. I thought Richard Lester was in the credits but I can't find the movie listed in his imdb page. Anyhow, the hair style and clothing were similar to Endeavour. Kind of interesting is a comment Morse makes to Lewis in one episode about the 60s happening "around" him. We're seeing that Morse was correct.
  4. Agree with all the comments. However, I hope Flossie isn't adopted by Kate and Caroline-----no need to mess up that life anymore than it's already messed up, since Ellie seems to have done a runner. I loved it with Gillian was looking at Flossie and the Flossie was looking at Gillian. That baby has a very expressive face.
  5. They can come for an international police convention. :-) Or maybe they come here because a murder in Oxford has some weird connection with the "Female Stranger" of Alexandria and they stumble upon your murder in the meantime.
  6. you could set your fictional Oxford reunion in DC. The Potomac kills at least 1 person a year if you really need a river "drowning" in your story. National Harbor is a good site for murders too. Body found lying in repose in the left hand of "The Awakening" or body falling off that big ferris wheel they just installed.
  7. That's nice. The weather hasn't been too bad this summer (the nasty evening storms this week notwithstanding).
  8. How nice. Celia's side of the family knows Allan can drop dead at any minute, but Allan's side of the family doesn't. Something tells me that if things were different and Celia and Allan had married all those years ago, they would have been d-i-v-o-r-c-e-d all those years ago too.
  9. He did look scared throughout the case. I hope he was "scared straight". The other one seemed to be enjoying/proud of himself too much, imo. Something tells me, the only kids who use that trampoline are her own kids.
  10. Oh good. Something to look forward to in October. :-) Did they ever reschedule your reunion----so you can be one of the many murder victims in Oxford?
  11. You just know that will blow up in Celia's face when Gillian finds out.
  12. As exemplified in the Kiddie kiddie car Thieves repeated last night in my area: two 12 or 13 year old boys took a kiddie car from the back porch of a neighbor. They rang the door bell and when no one answered, they "borrowed" the car, played with it, wrecked it, told their mothers they borrowed it and were going to return it, told their mothers they bought it at a garage sale. One of the moms was countersuing the plaintiff for keying her (mom's) car, as witnessed by one of the boys.
  13. Not to mention their father bringing home his mistress and having audible drunken sex with her while they are in the house. It doesn't seem like either side of the family cares too much about how their decisions impact on children/grandchildren
  14. Like JJ has said she's not Dr. Phil. But if that case was upsetting, don't watch Paternity Court------they drag in calendars marked with the days the mom had sex with the potential fathers.
  15. Lady Matilda's College mentioned in Endeavour (most recently "Nocturne") becomes co-ed in Lewis ("Old, Unhappy, Far Off Things"). Free Masonry: mentioned by Lewis in "Whom the Gods may destroy" : Innocent: You do scrub up well, Inspector. Lewis: Oh, this penguin suit's been to far too many Masonic dinners - the trouser leg keeps rolling up of its own accord.
  16. Patrizio, that was a terrible case. I think cases like that one and the rape case a few years ago, are there to serve as a "Wake up" for viewers who are in similar situations or who know people in similar situations. Regarding the rape case, I can't remember the details, but the woman was beaten and submitted medical records that documented bruising of her inner thighs.
  17. Chief Superindentent Strange would most definitely have access to the evidence, but would PC Strange? It's all pointing to Strange because we know he's a Mason during Inspector Morse, but Jakes, Thursday and Bright can't be wholly ruled out.
  18. Maybe the Masons thought the ring was lost or misplaced or stolen???? Just this morning on the news, football great Jim Brown's 1964 NFL championship ring turned up on auction. Brown said the ring was stolen. However, if the guy was wearing the ring in public, wouldn't a Mason have noticed it and, well, gotten it back? Because if the guy was wearing it around in public, wouldn't a Mason have noticed it?
  19. Yes. And I'm beginning to wonder how Thursday's relationship with Morse influences Morse's relationship with Lewis. In the last Lewis series (or at least what we thought was the last Lewis series, Lewis says something like Morse wouldn't have tolerated something and Superintendent Innocent response is that Morse had a lot to answer to. I presumed that dialogue was to intrigue us enough to watch the Endeavour program and I also presumed that Innocent knew Strange destroyed evidence for Morse in The Remorseful Day. But it could be something else.
  20. Re: Masonic ring. I don't know too much about the Masons, but they are sort of like a club, right? So if he quietly gave the ring (which belongs to the Masons) to his illegitimate son and the son quietly passes it to his son, then would the Masons know?
  21. Why is Amanda bitchy to Sharon? To Den...sure, but Sharon?
  22. True, no eye glasses on the grand-daughter. But wouldn't said grand-child be in their teens if said son was stationed in England during the War? I don't remember the Thursdays mentioned in Morse either-----which makes me wonder what happens to them. :-( Nor do I recall Jakes mentioned in Morse. Max and Strange seem to be the only ones who make it to Morse. :-( Lol @ Mrs. Lewis crack (though I wouldn't be surprised if he DID date Val before she married Lewis.....being an Oxford girl born and bred). I wonder when Endeavour begins that dating marathon. He's already begun drinking.
  23. My PBS station has a "UK Channel", which only shows UK programs. They show Inspector Morse every Wednesday night. It's nice watching Morse and watching Endeavour, because it gives insight into both characters (I know that sounds weird). jjj, I think the Masonic ties explains why Strange is Morse's boss in 20-30 years.
  24. I think the girl who was presented to the American couple was Adrian's niece. RE: June Thursday I think she has the hots for Endeavour. I'm not sure if that is reciprocated. Kind of odd that Strange didn't know she was Thursday's daughter, but since Thursday leaves his work at the door, I guess it's explainable. The ghost story had a Turn of the Screw feeling about it with the teacher seeing the ghost and being scared by it. It had a similar plot as Sherlock Holmes' The Adventure of the Priory School (illegitimate son who works as his father's secretary tries to kill legitimate son/heir of a dukedom). And a dab of Downtown Abbey (doorstepping an illegitimate child with a tenant farmer/hand). And the whole episode tried to have same plot as The Wench is Dead, where Morse solves a rape/murder/wrongly accused in Victorian-era Oxford. I think it succeeded in spite of it all.
  25. This episode........ I don't think Raffe is the baby daddy. HE should get that paternity test ASAP! My advice to Kate is run: run as fast as you can as far as you can because Caroline is T-r-o-u-b-l-e. Moving Kate in to get rid of John, now asking Kate to sell her house so she can buy John out? Run. Celia, so you tell your daughter that the doctor said Allan might not be able to survive even a tiny heart attack, but you don't tell Gillian (Allan's daughter) leaving her in the dark? *forehead slap!* What's the reason for that? This side of the family is getting more and more awful with every episode.
