Nit Pick: The magazine cover from the 1980 flashback showed a couple of guys doing Aikido and Not Karate. Aikido People usually wear Hakama, those long loose pants. I was hoping one the kids would swallow the egg raw in front of Chozen before Chozen had the chance to break it.

I felt badly for Sensei Rothenthal just running his dojo doing his own thing and reminding his students not to let their aggression get the better of them. Silver has gone full Bond Villain.
-
Silver beating the crap out of Danny is one of the few semi-realistic things this show has done. For the first time I feel a tiny little bit of sympathy for Stingray. He is a pawn in all this and doesn’t realize he’s being used.
-
I'm glad the Miguel/Daddy Issues plot was resolved(?)I find the CK/Danny conflict much more interesting. CK has the makings of a cult, and that always ends badly.
-
Maybe Diane should go back to Martial Arts. She quit Aikido in a hurry a few seasons back. How about Karate? We can have a Good Fight/Cobrai Kai Crossover!
-
I almost wish they would release one or two episodes a week! I can blame only myself for bingeing this. I've watched the first two so far.
-
I keep waiting for him to betray Danny or become a double agent.

I’m always happy to see Andre Braugher! The Eccentric Lawyer Schick is strong with this one.

Glowing orbs are always trouble. At first I thought that the other crew admiring the Cerritos was a collective fantasy. The actress who plays Leah Brahams gets the Good Sport award.

I knew K'ranch wasn't really going to kill Boimler when the captian dismissed the security team. It was still funny. K'ranch actually seems pretty cool: He gains the consent of his prey and is clear in why he does why he?(not sure of the gender) does, and he's down for brunch with the captian. Sort of like how serious martial artists are pretty chill when they're not fighting. An obvious call back to "Justice". Ransome's vanity and endless working out actually paid off.

A Crystalline Entity is fighting the Borg now!

You make some excellent points about Mariner @Starchild. That said, I do like Mariner. I find the combination of talent and lack of ambition fascinating. Mariner wants to do Starfleety things, but has no use to the rat race of seeking rank and promotions. Her privledge is a problem, and I wuld love to see her team up with Seven.

The shipstill looks like its missing it's shielding. The Vulcan Ship as a Bouncy Castle/Slide thing ended me.

Hands down my favourite current Star Trek series. Smart, funny, great to look at with breathtakingly efficient storytelling. The Cerritos is still without its outer shielding. How far could it get in that state?

Since the FAMverse runs parallel to our own, I would think that China would be in competetion with the Soviets and the US, assumeing 90's China in the FAMverse is econimically robust. Perhaps China was funding a shadow NK Space Program for some nefarious reason. I will say that the NK ship looked really cramped and rough. Next Season I would like to find out more about the European Space Agency, Canada, Japan, and all the other contries that contribute to the space program without being the major players the US, Russia and apparently North Korea are.

If FAM lasts seven seasons Ed will be alive in the 2030's

I just realized that Mars Baby is technically not a Martian as he or she was born in orbit.
-
If Mars Baby survives until next season, the kid will have a lot of baggage. So the the NK ship have a gun in case the astronauts decided that suicide was their only option? Cianade pills would weigh less. I remember guns in space (and on the Moon) was an issue in season 2. It was mentioned that Kelly needed magnesium and Lee discovered that the Martian soil contains magnesium. Weird how no one put two and two together.
-
Yes. The word "hero" is thrown around a LOT on this show, but here it is fitting. Danny will totally find Chekov's gun. Pam didn't find a new partner, she was waiting for POTUS, her one true love?

This. That part of the world had been inhabited by all sorts of people for thousands of years before the Europeans showed up. That anology does not hole up at all. I wish they would have spent a bit more time of the crew of Phoenix. It must be so weird and frustrating for them: they get to spend their time in relative comfort while Happy Valley struggles to survive. They can't go down to the Mars even though that's what they signed up for. The company that sent them to Mars is in disarray. And they only had one tiny ship capable of going to down to the surface?
-
The actor playing the North Korean astronaut was really good. Loved Danny getting exciled to the NK ship. I still don't understand why Phoenix can't do a supply drop. The Mayflower anology makes me squirm. Other than that, a great season finale although not quite as strong as the end of Seaon 2.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - General Discussion
marinw replied to SunShine Gal's topic in Star Trek: The Next Generation
Last night I saw part of “Lower Decks”. I still hate the scene where Picard enlists Sito to accompany the Cardassian operative in Cardassian Space. “I’m not going to order you to do this poorly though out and suicidal mission, ensign. I’ll jut ask you, really nicely, in a room full of high-ranking officers so you feel like a cowardly piece of sh*t if you decline.” I love Picard, but he was an a**hole towards Sito. Why not get a more experienced officer and have that person surgically altered to look Bajorian? I understand the need to send people on dangerous missions, but someone else may have had a better chance of survival than an ensign in desperate need of approval. Speaking of Lower Decks, I would love to see Beckett’s reaction if her captain/mom asked her to do something similar . -
I liked this twist because NK is last nation one would expect to make it to Mars, in both the FAMverse or in ours.
-
Everyone is stuck with Danny until they Return to Earth, so it kind of makes sence to blame poor Nick. I'm sure Ed has his suspicions.
-
That was great. And a shrewd political move when you think about it. The main difference is that Mars has no indigenous people to colonized and exploit. That we know about. But now we have at least one North Korean! That was a GREAT twist I did not see coming. Who else is on Mars? I have always liked the way FAM does time jumps/lapses. It really moved things along. I really felt for Aleida. She is truly in an impossible situation. I have very stupid question: Why can't Phoenix send things down to Happy Valley? I'm sure that was explained but I must have missed it. I sadly kind of knew that Martian Baby was in trouble. Because of gravity. And radiation. And the enormous stress Kelly is under. And Mars in general. It's the last episode of the season next week!!! I'm not ready for this season to end! This season has its issues (Danny continues to suck) but this is the most engrossing "Hard" SciFi show I've seen since The Expanse. (I love the various Star Treks to varying degrees, but ST is doing something different than FAM and The Expanse).
