  1. I stand corrected! Thank you. I need to do a re-watch. The whole "District" things reminds me of The Hunger Games.
  2. We need to keep reminding ourselves that Picard is French and not British. Accents aren’t a genetic trait, so whatever his parentage Not Wesley would have had to grow up somewhere where people spoke Universal Standard with a British accent.
  3. So the San Francsico Campus of Starfleet Academy is no more! That was a very Marvel Cinematic Universe level of destruction there. The closeing credits were great, and probably conatained all sorts of details I didn't get. Nice to hear the First Conatct music. Unpopular opinion: I would be happy with a whole season of Picard and Laris hanging out in LaBarre growing grapes. As for the age of Not Wesley, I think it's been established that human women of the 24th and 25th Centuries can have children later in life, as menopause happens much later due to medical advances and longer life spans and such. Also, FWIW in TNG Gates McFadden was pregant IRL and wore her doctor's coat to cover it up. So maybe Crusher was pregnant then and everyone was polite to ask or something? The apparent age of Not Wesley would match up.
  4. Wesley had a brother!!! I think Shaw and Jellico before him are more typical Starfleet captains then Pike, Kirk, Picard or Janeway. Starfleet is a very stable organization if it has now existed for hundreds of years so it must have more rule followers than Mavericks. Shaw may be an asshat but any captain would take exception with his first officer disobeying orders while he sleeps. I know the dark lighting is a aesthetic choice of current Treks but I miss the brightness of the original TNG, Annie Werschang was a well known working actor who was in many shows. She was the Borg Queen in season 2 of Picard. To me she will always be Renee Walker on 24. She recently died of cancer. 🥲
  5. How did Seven become a commander only a year or so after joining Starfleet? Love how the Titan crew is wearing the Lower Decks uniforms!!! (Or at least a close approximation) So many Easter Eggs in the Spring Cleaning scene, like the flute from “The Inner Light” and “Lessons” Exciting episode. I’m in. “For Annie” 😥
  6. I was reminded of the Star Trek: TNG episode wherein Pulaski told some colonists that to get the best genetic diversity each woman should have a kid with at least three men. Maybe they don’t want married couples for that reason? They haven’t come up with sonic showers or whatever? I’m assuming they purified the comet water before drinking it straight out of the hose. I liked this episode better than the last too. I liked Cat’s reveal that she had secrets too. The character’s are becoming a tiny bit more likeable.
  7. The characters I actually like are Soil Boy and Bald Security Guy, who seems understandably annoyed with his crewmates. Call me optimistic, but I don't see why sending people to other Solar Systems and saving Earth are mutally exclusive goals. We should do both. The world building is pretty bad. What year is this? I'm assumeing they are confident that at least one of the planets around Proxima is habitable, but did they try Mars first?
  8. I laughed at the sight of North America on fire. The CGI is terrible.
  9. Not exactly a Hate Watch for me, but I'm not sure why I am watching. Cat seems like a sociopath. Why do they only have two private rooms? Seems stupid. This show feels like it travelled in time friom the early 00's. Not sure who the intended audience is.
  10. Oh Theo! Tying himself up in knots trying to do the right thing and getting punished for it. He sort of reminds me of Chidi from The Good Place with his endless moral delimas, only way more serious.
  11. Comparing The Ark to Battlestar Galactica or The Expanse doesn’t seem fair. This show doesn’t even compare well to The 100 or Killjoys or any of the Treks.
  12. Interesting idea. That show was so Early 70's, it had an aesthetic that was unique to that era. I do wonder what an update would look like.
  13. June is such an interesting character. Poor Mags! Maybe a quiet research job would be ok but that is not where her heart is (bad pun!!!). So is Bash going to join Doctors Without Borders or some other NGO? Not out of survivors guilt but because it’s truly what he wants to do? Whatever the reason his patients must appreciate a doctor who speaks their own language and understands their life experience.
  14. Love your nicknames! What was McStoic doing in the shower room anyway? Sneaking in his own shower? Give it up Karen, McStoic is pinging my gaydar. Not sure if I'm going to keep watching. I wasn't expecting The Expanse, but the technology and engineering aspects of the show are BAD. For example, how did Soil Boy get all that soil on board with nobody noticing? Soil is heavy, the weight would be noticed.
  15. The youth and hotness of this crew is very CW. I agree with the other posters that it’s silly to put all the command people together. I am reminded of the film Passengers where the command crew was separated from the civilians for some reason.
  16. Trying not to get too excited not sure if this will be available in Canada 🇨🇦. I get some Paramount shows but not others.
  17. Trailer! I so want Kiefer to be in something that isn't a mess. I want that so very much.
  18. Just saw this on the 24 Forum. This sucks so much.
  19. I was about to post this but @blackwingbeat me to it. This sucks on so many levels, Annie was one of those actresses who never became suoper famous but worked for decades on too many TV shows to mention. To me she will always be Renee.
  20. See Also: Picard and Kamala in "The Perfect Mate". The cavaet being that Patrick Stweart demonstrates that "weird looking"and "sexy AF" are not mutally exclusive.
  21. The Doctor taking it opon himself to design Seven's outfits seemed wierd. I know the Silver Catsuit was some sort of body-size bandage, but he why was designing dresses for date night? There wasn't anyone else on the ship who could do that? Yes, Seven looks great in anything, but still.
  22. Yes, what is going on with Bash? He won't allow himself to be happy. He's doing some sort of white savior thing, except for the part where he isn't white. Amputations scenes are always brutal, this one was even worse as they could have saved the guys's arm even without proper resources if Bash had been allowed to do his MacGyvering. Chaotic and overwhelmed ER's are a trope of every medical drama there is, yet here it is quite relevent, they are happening all over Canada and other countries. Claire!!
  23. Infiltrating the Borg by allowing yourself to be assimilated is like infiltrating the ICU by getting in a car crash.
  24. Interesting @Athena. The Mother-Daughter vibe between Janeway and Seven is a testament to the acting chops of Ryan and Mulgrew. No amount of acting could help the lack of chemistry between Ryan and Robert Beltran. Another thing I enjoy about Picard is that Ryan can enjoy a relationship where there is genuine chemistry between her and Michelle Hurd. (And yes, I know Picard has issues which we have discussed in the appropriate forum) OTOH Ryan and Robert Picardo were great together.
  25. IIRC In an interview she said a lot of it was due to those costumes. The silver one had a corset thing that prevented her from bending. I enjoy seeing her in Picard wearing normal clothes and looking just as beautiful.
