Just have them cover a longer period of time than the present day storyline. As of season 6, they should use flashbacks only if and when absolutely necessary. So if the need one for episode 6 and 17, fine. But don't force them on other 21 episodes.

This! For reasons I cannot fathom, I once read a few paragraphs of a fic in which the younger man was talking to the older man. Oliver and Dig. The quickest way to get me to not check out a fic is "I suck at summaries". You're telling me you're bad at writing while you want me to check out your writing. I can maybe sorta accept the nicknames in AUs, even if I find them silly. But why do people use them in canon compliant fics when nobody has used them ever?Drugged up is better. My hope for season 5 - for them to rethink the use of flashbacks. Now, the magic eight ball screamed yes for Russia in the last episode and I am thrilled for it. However, they really need to see whether they need them in every single episode. Rather use them every few episodes and have them matter. Focus more on that then on transitions from present day.

If Reiter was buried alive closer to the end of the season, I'd worry about him popping up in present day.

Do we have confirmation of Echo being in 419? He has a photo with EBR in Felicity's green crossover dress posted 7 weeks ago. I hought it could have been from their deleted 418 scenes. But he also posted a video of Katrina at that time and we know she is back in 419.

Going through Spoilers Only and Social Media threads on production dates for 420, I got the same results as @Morrigan2575. And that was a lot of pages of Social Media since HVFF Chicago was held then, the Felicity promo poster was released, photos from EBR's photoshoot started to come out and there was back and forth about KC. The only photo was one of the hospital location and even that one was pulled from Google images. And I think this is the same building from a different angle that Bamford posted on his Instagram. Now I'm suspicious. It doesn't really seem like there are episodes without a single BTS photo.

But if they can't drop in on Slade, what's the trip for? I do honestly like the spec because Felicity gets invited into IslandOliver's world.

I read a LoT review and I have two things to say. 1. Anna Deveare Smith! OMG, Nancy McNally, I <3 you. From what I've seen of Kendra, she wishes she would grow up to become Anna. Is there a way to incorporate her in Arrow? She can be a descendent. 2. That sort of blows a whole in the Rip is Oliver's great-great-nephew theory.

Brie's one episode was more than enough. Noah is the obvious choice. Cooper can be his annoying lackey that both Noah and Felicity swat away like an annoying flea. I haven't heard anything about Anarky coming back. I'm not sure if Andy will be a factor in the finale or tfey'll deal with him earlier since he plays a part in 420.
