  1. Well, I got to see it, and I continue to like this 'show', 'series', whatever it is. Yup, some parts were definitely contrived - Beth/Jamie, but it struck me as thinly disguised tongue in cheek. Sort of a 'life is REALLY boring under quarantine which no one planned for, so we're doing what we can to deliver something enjoyable". I kinda did. It was actually the most I have liked the two of them since their decision day when they decided to stay together. SAFSteph/AJ, no disguise even attempted - and I loved it - they were laughing with us laughing with them. Maybe I would feel differently if I didn't already like them as a couple, but I still enjoyed it. Love Kim/Keith & Shawniece/Jepthe exploring the world of at-home hair care for the guys. I was quite surprised that Jepthe wasn't already having Shawniece involved in his hair care - but only from the POV of being acquainted with a hairdresser or two who did not only their entire immediate family's haircare, but extended/in-laws/etc to boot. Looks like the ladies have a pretty good hand. Major KUDOS to Kristine - I would NEVER attempt to trim my DH's hair/beard...he's MUCH too critical. This time, RickyBobby/Danielle kinda pissed me off - but I'm not sure why. It could be just the look on Bobby's face, but I got the impression the bloom is off the rose. I got the impression (this episode and the last one) that formerly anti-SAHM Danielle is embracing momhood to a greater extent than is comfortable for RickyBobby. I do hope they work it out. Anthony/Ashley were a bit of a miss this time, but I would give just about anybody a pass (except JamieO, the quintessential fame-whore) with the current constraints on having normal lives. I did not see Deonne/Greg as negatively as some - but maybe I am making an overly large allowance for the times we all live in - all I recall is that I see her in a MUCH more positive light than I did during their season where I was eagerly counted among those who said she was determined to have his balls in her handbag and not about to give them up. I like her now. And he continues to be gorgeous! (it's the eyes...it's always the eyes) I think the doll-baby was a pretty cool idea - they do seem to be having fun with it. Maybe she has found the right way to get her message across without being militantly in his face about baby or nothing. Maybe I'm full of crap. YMMV. And that's OK with me. Jaustin just continue to melt my heart, I can't believe that a flippin' reality show actually managed to match two people who really are in love/dedicated/committed with each other on a level I haven't seen in more than perhaps 4 of the couples I've seen on the show. And Rex!! He's a canine Austin, no doubt about it. JamieO is now the official poster child for scaring ANYONE out of wanting the Covid-19 test. I watched her angst/fake tears/forget-she-claims-to-be-a-nurse reaction to the test, and remembered I was also watching when Governor Cuomo had his nasal swab done on live TV. I believe him. Please, please PLEASE LESS JAMIE. I kinda like Doug and am tired of seeing him relentlessly portrayed as the buffoon, by BOTH the show and his wife. So, there! I didn't forget/mistakenly thought I forgot anyone this time. IRRC, which mmay or not be the case. I'll be tuning in next week. Anyone know how many of these CouplesCam episodes we can look forward to, cuz I'm on board for all of it.
  2. SO annoyed I had the time wrong and tuned in to discover MAFSAustralia was just starting! However, I did see the preview of JO doing her dramatic drive up to a testing station, which she seemed to liken to a condemned prisoner making that final walk to the gallows.... I could not help but notice that the lower ties of her mask were over her hair - not under it like the rest of us would do...mustn't muss the 'do' in front of the cameras, even tho having it tied so loosely pretty much defeats the purpose of the mask. And it's not as if she doesn't know better - what with being an RN and all. I really wish they'd show much less JO and more of just about any of the others, except Beth/Jamie - although they do provide some fairly ridiculous comic relief amidst all the screeching.
  3. Finally got it...I had mentioned SAFSteph/AJ in my post, but when I made a list just to make sure I had gotten them all, I left them OFF the list.... My brain is finally at peace....this is the most strenuous thing it has done in weeks!
  4. Thanks, but I guess I should have called her Liz instead of Beth - Jamie/Beth was what I called them. But, Dang! I thought the mystery was over....this is gonna bug me until I can catch the show on a rerun.
  5. Still lovin this show a lot in spite of some of the obviously contrived drama - Beth/Jamie in particular. I think the RickyBobby/Danielle angst must be a bit of that as IIRC, on the show about what people from past seasons are doing, she definitely said she was healthy and they had been given the go-ahead for a future pregnancy. Still, if that were me, I'd be a basket case all during a 2nd pregnancy because I worry about every little thing, the big ones are catastrophic. Jess/Austin are so sweet and genuine - Jess was very matter-of-fact that this was what she signed up for (I've know a lot of student nurses who never saw their nursing futures as anything other than a sunshine and roses and healthy babies fantasy) and I do feel some concern for her in a Covid ICU as I also believe she's the sort who would step in where others may fear to tread. Jepthe/Shawniece also seem the real deal to me - except that they're both on the rebound from betrayal and uncertainty of their future. But his pedicure surprise last time and that 'climbing' exercise this time gave me a warm fuzzy. SAFSteph/AJ are, I believe, dealing with his anxieties ( no doubt ratched up 1000X by lack of employment) as constructively as possible. I just have a hard time believing he's really that great or devoted to housecleaning. On the other hand, I don't recall any gushing over the dinner he prepared (if he did) so that little thing does give me some perspective. I'll think they'll be fine, if for no reason other than SAFSteph really seems invested in helping him - a sharp contrast to Beth/Jamie who come across as seeing only their own needs and their partner's not so much. Loving Greg/Deonna more and more! Where was this woman during their MAFS season! When they stayed married, I felt so sorry for Greg, but now see (as I should have) that he was smart enough to base his decision on their off-camera time. Same for Kristine/Keith (Geez, I'm not sure about his name). I thought she was getting saddled with a lazy mamma's boy, but he's looking pretty good and she's lost that hard 'princess' edge I perceived before. Ashley/Anthony are a nice little slice of good times maybe taking a downturn. Ashley's concerned face during Anthony's phone call with his CEO was the moment when this whole impact of Covid on financial well-being seemed to really hit home with her. Jamie/Doug - enough! She's got everything about them so centered on her that I just don't give a crap. I'm embarrassed - I could sweat there are 9 couples, but I can only come up with 8 - so the one I've omitted must be either that good or that bad.
  6. First, last, and only time I will ever post for this show. It's been a long time coming - because I just didn't want to believe such things are still enjoying such immense popularity. It has proven to be an ultra-right-wing-female-hating-platform instead of the pure and simple crime drama I had hope it would be. I loved NYPD Blue (the struggles, triumphs and losses of Andy Sipowicz were beautifully done), I loved Hill Street Blues (just goes to show how old I am) but I can not and will not any longer tolerate the misogynistic,/patriarchal and racist-but-lets-pretend-we-are-not-racist basis of Blue Bloods. I hate Henry most of all -not because I can see where he is the product of his/my generation where women were objects, expected to be subservient even when they dared to show their brains and self-sufficiency, but rather because he is portrayed as a former PC who fully engaged in such hatefull behaviors and tactics without ANY remorse whatever. I hate Danny the Neanderthal who lives to bully his wife/sister/niece/NYPD partner at every available opportunity and is both supported and justified by the scriptwriters and his on screen family. I hate Frank for having NEVER learned that women are equal human creatures, nor having the balls to say so if he (by some miracle)actually did. I hate that part of Erin who continually excuses/validates/tolerates every humiliation/imposition she suffers from the ever-so-perfect&imposing/harrssing-Danny/Jamie/Henry. She is clearly self-sufficient and needn't tolerate it, but written so spinelessly that she does. I fear for what will happen to Nicki under the influence of such a 'clan' of 'loving' uncles/grandpa/greatgrandpa. I think she doesn't stand a chance. I haven't a care to spare for Danny's sons, as they have 3 generations of father-figures just waiting to validate every testosterone driven moment they have. Too bad - this could have been as great a show as the others, but will just go on the junk heap with all the other commercial drivel. And, yes, I do know that BB and its ilk really are the current mind set vis a vis the attitudes toward men and women - more's the pity.
  7. Definitely much too much Jamie/Doug (but mostly Jamie). Other than that, I really liked the show - it was nice to see these couples (particularly Jessica and Austin, who are so very early in to the real life aspects of a marriage) carrying on in really real life. Loved seeing Greg/Deonna (and those ovens!) again. SAF Stef and AJ really showed a nice glimpse into AJ having a whole new set of difficulties to deal with, and even though he seemed quite uneasy with it, he also seemed to be dealing with it better than he would have during their season. I'm definitely going to watch this episode again and hope it's not a one-off because of the virus - I think dealing with life-altering situations is the best test of how well they were matched and how deep their commitments are.
  8. Instead of watching this crapfest of a season over again, I have been watching the Couples Couch episodes - they are hilarious. I was astounded how Anthony picked up on what a creep zachass is from the first episode I watched (I did skip the 'selection' process, announcement of matched couples and everything prior to the weddings.) AJ was pretty astute as regards a few of the grooms and I really loved his statements of how he identified with one of the brides who experienced some of the same struggles he did - alhtough I don't remember which bride it was - as well as expressing empathy for those who were having a tough time with the the filming process. IIRC, he used to come across as very defensive, but now seems much calmer - which I attribute to the influence of SAF Stef - who is still definitely SAF. I'm not even half way through and it seems all the couples have seen right through zachass. There was another person in one of the couples who picked up really quickly on all the signs that Brandon wasn't fooling anyone of Taylor's friends/family, but I don't remember who that was. Since AFAICS many of the couples reactions are truly spontaneous, I believe they have all really gained a lot of insight and marriage-smarts - certainly a helluva lot more than I had at their ages. Glad I have something to take up my time on this cold/rainy day.
  9. So, what I thought was just another smarmy episode was the finale, and today I watched the 5/1 WWHL with rezass/adam and MJ/Tommy...and MJ/Tommy definitely came across as the more honest of the two....If I had never seen rezass/adam before I would have thought they were absolute choirboys from the way they portrayed themselves. MJ/Tommy, however were loud, impetuous, unfiltered and MUCH MORE HONEST to me. I really wish Tommy could dial it down A LOT, but he certainly makes no effort to appear as anything else than who he really is....and to me he/MJ are much more believable. A reference was made to a reunion, so I'll try to catch that, but given that I am dealing with two sets of liars, MJ/Tommy came across as the least dishonest of the two couples. Maybe, just maybe, it's because I've been exposed to rezass's duplicitous behavior since the beginning, and Tommy is a relative newbie who just can't stop running his mouth....but somehow I find him more believable....and I don't even like him.
  10. I was just about to binge watch as much of Shahs as I could find when I made the decision to first catch up on the pieces I missed of this season. Haven't yet seen the final episode, but the rest is the biggest turn off ever. I never cared for Rezass, but he has turned into the nastiest scuzbag imaginable. MJ does run a close 3rd ( I give Adam and Mike a tie for 2nd worst), but other than doing some shit stirring, I can't recall any truly reprehensible thing she has done - and I was never a fan of hers from the start. I've seen some video of Tommy throwing stuff around at Rezass's house, but there must be more to it than that to justify Adam claiming to be in fear for his life (echoed by Reza in that fake 'supportive' tone he uses) or to have it classified as a felony. Then again, I'm not a lawyer, have no knowledge of various legal matters other than what I see here. Adam's refusal to have MJ at their home (where one could reasonable expect there to be filming of the 'whole' cast for any variety of social gatherings) is a very transparent ploy to deprive MJ of both camera time and (I presume) income which is totally nasty. I believe he is seeking to increase his status on the show by forcing her out. As far as I'm concerned, both Adam and Rezass need to be gone. Ditto for Mike. I'd like to see Shervin become a full cast member (if he isn't already - I haven't really kept up on who is what). Shervin seems to have some awareness, but too much exposure to Mike could turn him into the same kind of bullying chauvinist as Mike. Nema is usually harmlessly ridiculous, but I did NOT like the way he called Rezass over to tell MJ about not dropping the restraining order - that was NOT his place. Especially after Rezass made such a big deal out of MJ not telling him something that was really not hers to tell - If Ali made the claim of Adam sending offensive sexts, Ali should have been the one to tell Rezass. Since Rezass is so very concerned about full disclosure, he should have told MJ about it himself, immediately. So, with just Shervin and Nema left, they need a new, interesting guy on the scene. I'd love to see the series revamped with emphasis on GG's and MJ's parenting adventures and their support systems (would be a nice counterpoint between Vida/Tommy and GG's parents/sister) which would also add more folks to the mix and perhaps make the Persian/Iranian culture more prominent. I believe it was that way in the early seasons, which I loved, but that part deteriorated to almost nothing recently. Watching Karma made me acutely aware of that fact. I've seen growth in GG over the years (hated her in S1) and who knows what motherhood will truly do for MJ - I'd like to see more. More time to Nema and Mona, and maybe one or both of their parents (if they are willing). I wouldn't even mind an occasional cameo with Asa - she was rather ridiculous, but was also very much into cultural expression, which is one of the things I find most captivating about shows like Shahs and Karma and Mexican (which I wish was still around, even though it seemed to flounder a bit as to what it wanted to be). Anyhow, I'll try to find the last episode of Shahs, just to see if there was any hint of redemption for anyone, but if they don't make some seriously thoughtful changes, I'm done with this one too. If I want to see a bunch of drunken, oversexed asses making pathetic idiots of themselves, I could waste my time on OC BH NJ NY ATL - but I'm not THAT bored or desperate.
  11. Can't believe jaxass actually admitted to his excessive use of - ahem - recreational drugs, followed by adderall induced dieting! He looked positively sick with his flushed, sweaty face and rage behavior. He won't last two seconds in hillbilly heaven Kentucky - he'd be so bored out of his mind he'd OD on either backstreet drugs or 5th rate hookers and leave brittany looking for her next ticket out of hooterville ( no offense to hooterville intended - just a lame 'pettycoat junction skeevy uncle joe reference)
  12. Discovered this show is on binge today, so I tuned in and, as bad luck would have it, it's the thrice-damned ashley season. Some days I just can't win. Redeeming factoid - it is actually a Kathryn sympathetic (well, largely) season, so there's that. I'm waiting to see who is actually coming back - if there is to be a new season - there are some folks whose absence would ruin it for me, so I'll have to wait and see.
  13. Sweet holy hell! I completely forgot about ramoaner and the oysters....MAJOR YUCK!
  14. I was pleased to see Jaime and Elizabeth together - they both run hot and cold and have the same over-the-top style of dealing with conflict, from which may well come understanding ....Having found the one who very well matches their own emotional makeup, each is likely in the place and with the person for which they are best suited, and, no one else with have to figure out how to deal with these particular roller coasters. Besides, for some strange reason, I kinda like them.
  15. Last night, as I was waiting for Top Chef, I decided to watch NY, which I haven't seen in a few years and WHAT a shit-show it has turned into! All I heard was screeching, and blubbering, and some grown-up twit prancing down ( a runway? couldn't tell) like a 3 year old in her first 'beauty' pageant, and Ramona's oddly staccato voice and I couldn't help but wonder WHAT had become of the show I had fallen in love with when it was in its first seasons. How sad. Who are these stupid women?
  16. It could be the serving part that's difficult. My ex managed to never be around when the serving was attempted, my lawyer finally sent a sheriff to his workplace to accomplish it. In my case (in Illinois in the late 70's) mailing would not be service since there would have been no proof he actually took receipt of the envelope. If Matt doesn't have a physical address of his own, it may be very difficult to even find out where to serve them. I wish Amber would have said if the papers were mailed to an actual street address, or if he only gave her a PO Box number. He really is the lowest piece of crap.
  17. Watched, re-watched, binge watched and still love it. At first I liked Anishka, but now both she and Bali, can go suck it. Neither of them is interested in what the object of their accusations has to say, they cling to their version, even to the extent of not even letting the other person (usually Vishal or Monica) say much of anything. I'm sorry Anishka is having so much trouble finding her career and personal niches, but that's not Monica's fault. Bali seems much too interested in the camera and being a part of the younger crowd, she's a 40-some parent, not a 20 to 30-some single. To me, she seems very disingenuous. I like Monica, but she's often annoying - especially when she insists everyone is poking at her about things that are none of their business (I agree) YET continues to engage with them in those conversations. I like Vishal - he's part sweet, part court jester, often says just the wrong thing, but I see it as cluelessness rather than Bali/Anishka tactics. I agree with others about his appearance - I think his features, although individually good, are out of proportion to the size and shape of his face. Brian is an idiot, Richa is just about the most likeable of the younger generation, Amrit needs to stop being a waffling player and make a decision about his partner (sorry, forgot his name). I love most of the older generation - and am amazed at their communication style - everybody talking at the same time and yet they all seem to have heard and listened to each other. Amazing. My only complaint is the season was much too short - especially when they give so much air time to a show like Shahs, which has completely degenerated into nothing but a low-life slut-fest.
  18. I LOVED that Katie cried when Austin knelt down and gave Jess the ring - talk about grand romantic gesture! IMO, Katie would kill for that moment, but she's never gonna get/deserve it because she has no clue how to, or intention of, giving of herself.
  19. So, Kaite's a slut, Derek grew a pair, Jaustin are simply too adorable for words, Taylor just can't stop being a flakey fabricator, Meka, incredibly, felt the need to apologize to Michael who still gives nothing but lies and a stone wall, Zak's a whorish predator, and Mindy's still a class act, even when acknowledging her use of an expletive when hearing about KatZak. The second Katie admitted it was she who hooked up with Zakass, I thought 'of course'. Katie is so damn insecure she thinks she can boink her way into self-esteem. No wonder she was always trying to tear Derek down - his open posture and welcoming facial expressions said it all - he's a good guy who gave that little twit the benefit of far too many doubts. And she knows it. And knows that everybody else knows it too. When Mindy was talking about the kids she works with having a competition (or was it performance?) very soon, I wondered if she was so familiar with 'stage' make-up that she just doesn't remember to tone it down for her everyday look. Haven't read the rest of the board yet, but I'm hoping someone gives the info about the multi-MAFS-alumni show, the notice was gone before I realized what it was.
  20. Watched this because what I usually watch that time/day was over. What a waste of time. There is nothing there - I do like LVP, so for that alone I will watch however much is left of the season, but they need to do some SERIOUS re-toolling to make this even remotely likeable! Watching bunch of sloppy/whorish/nearly40, +40 fat & flabby asshats try to make themselves appealing is not even remotely interesting. How sad is it that Jame and Rachel are the best things on the show?
  21. Here's another thing I refuse to accept.... Many Catholics still do not believe in divorce. If Michael was a true Catholic I could believe it of him. BUT - I have neither seen or heard anything this season to indicate that his Catholic sensibilities had any problem whatever with staying together or getting a divorce after 8 weeks, which lovely little escape hatch he MUST have known about from before he signed on. He's a liar from the start, and will be to the end of his days. I see no value whatever in him as a human being.
  22. Inasmuch as I dozed off before Meka and Michael and didn't wake up until the crapfest was 3/4 done, I really need to watch it again(especially to see Meka!). I hope there is a couples couch tonight....and I REALLY hope Mindy was not desperate enough to give that POS another chance to mess with her mind as the previews for the next show intimate. I feel sorry for Derek, but he (who seems to be such a nice, uncomplicated guy) MUST have had someone in his life before he met/married the horror known as katie/turtle to whom he could turn for a bit of guidance...hard lesson to learn, but so many people of either gender have been messed over by someone they trusted that I fear this paradigm will continue as long as humans walk the planet. YAY - just checked and my TV listing does show Coupes Couch for tonight covering this 'last' episode!!! How sad it is that this is the BEST thing I have to look forward to this evening. *sigh*
  23. Still liking the show, but Bali makes it more and more like RHNJ....Yuk. I'll give it another episode before making a final decision but I just don't want another piece of lowlife crap....Bali brings nothing but innuendo, deliberate misdirection and confusion...no thanks.
  24. Personally, I don't give rat's ass if Michael has every imaginable diagnosis or combination thereof from the DSM or any other legitimate diagnostic tool. He's a grown man. Since there has never been any indication that he has a legal guardian, he alone is responsible for his words and actions. He had no business being deceitful to get himself on this show. The asshats in charge of making the matches had absolutely no business victimizing an unsuspecting woman by selecting her for the affliction known as Michael. The so-called experts had absolutely no business encouraging the continuation of this travesty. The more I see Michael, the more respect I have for Meka. I think that if Meka had put out, Michael would have gotten laid, but Meka would still have gotten absolutely nothing but used. With all of Michael's references to wanting vulnerability and tenderness from a wife, I strongly suspect he got the brilliant idea that MAFS would be the place to get himself a forever booty call and when Meka chose to NOT be victimized by his behaviors, he relegated her to the trash pile and simple went through his interpretation of the required motions. I can not believe Michael's 'sister' was unaware of his behaviors, and for that she bears the guilt of not having been truthful with Meka when she had the opportunity. It's not like these couples live in a vacuum. She could have contacted Meka at any time for an honest off-camera conversation - for which I suspect Meka would have been grateful. For once I really want to know what repercussions occured after decision day - at the very least, Mindy and Meka deserve a very big apology.
