  1. My PBS station is showing this episode this afternoon. I'm looking forward to it!
  2. I'm with you, Spunkygal, everything in today's new episode looked fabulous. The chicken recipe probably will be the first one I'll try because I adore mustard.
  3. Lovely article about Ina in the Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/voraciously/wp/2018/10/25/what-is-it-about-ina-garten/?utm_term=.1c1db697b1e1 Also three recipes: Triple Chocolate Loaf Cakes Tomato and Eggplant Soup Pear Clafouti
  4. My PBS station is now showing Masterclass episodes from the season with Chetna and Martha (I forgot the season number). It was nice to see it on the schedule in the time slot yesterday where they showed the last season of "new" episodes.
  5. I was intrigued about the origin of the green bean casserole so I Googled and found out that it was developed by the Campbell Soup Company as a marketing tool for cream of mushroom soup. https://www.history.com/news/the-origins-of-the-mysterious-gren-bean-casserole As a grocery retail employee, I can tell you that people don't only make it at Thanksgiving, at least here in Texas.
  6. Agree on all points except the rustic part. I wonder how her girls will like it when they get to be teens and want to be near their friends. Like that it was typical Sarah R design aesthetic--Tommy's quip when they walked into the stone/granite supplier summed it up: "This is Sarah Richardson, take us to the white area." It was a fun hour this morning and I hope to see more. It would be nice to see an update after they finish the barn building, too.
  7. FN had mini-marathon this morning. I had not seen her "Cook Like a Pro" show on Parmesan cheese and I really enjoyed it. I make different versions of some of the recipes (orechietti with broccoli rabe and sausage but no tomatoes; smashed potatoes without cheese) but I might make those modifications next time.
  8. Dylan Neal's Instagram shows that they're in production on his new Hallmark rom-com, based on "Truly, Madly, Sweetly." It will air in the fall and co-stars Nikki Deloach.
  9. DIY is running a Buyer's Bootcamp marathon today. I know that I will be doing this afternoon!
  10. Apparently Saturday Night Live had a sketch about Hallmark Movies the week that James Franco was hosting, but it was cut. SNL does Hallmark
  11. Another POV on the Hallmark Channel's Christmas movies... https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/we-cant-take-any-more-of-2017-so-weve-turned-to-the-hallmark-channel-in-desperation/2017/12/07/1ad3dab6-d6ca-11e7-b62d-d9345ced896d_story.html?utm_term=.a45ab953907d
  12. Gesine Prado is Sandra Bullock's sister. After law school and a stint producing movies, she became a pastry chef in Vermont, wrote cookbooks and and opened a deli/bakery here in Austin several years ago called Walton's Fancy and Staple. Sorry to go off-topic, but wanted to ID her for you.
  13. I'm with you. Here's a clip supporting our casting idea. Aaron Tveit sings "One Song Glory"
  14. I watched an older episode today where Ina hosted a cocktail party with special drinks. The appetizers looked delicious--salmon tartare, soppressata/gruyere puff pasty squares, and rosemary/chipotle mixed nuts. I would love to throw a party and serve those, with the great cocktails or wine.
  15. crazycatlady58, the Weather Channel has a reporter in Galveston so you can see what's going on there. I haven't checked this morning, but last night he said they had had about three inches of rain already and were expecting more. The concern is that Harvey will reverse course and go back towards the coast and move very slowly northeast towards Louisiana, which brings the Houston/Galveston area back into the center of the storm.
  16. Filming on the fourth Gourmet Detective movie wrapped this week, according to Dylan Neal's Facebook page (yeah, I really wanted some info). There are some nice photos and a little spoilerish info if you're interested. I think that he said earlier that the movie should air in October.
  17. The Washington Post had another article on Martha Collison this week, timed for the beginning of the next GBBO season: WaPo article on Martha
  18. TV Guide shows the first episode as airing on May 28. Ina's new season premiere
  19. I noticed in the Tony Awards forum that there was quite a bit of appreciation for Jake Gyllenhaal's singing. In case anyone hasn't seen it, here's a link to JG doing "Finishing the Hat" from rehearsals for Sunday in the Park with George. Finishing the Hat
  20. Ina has a new series in the works: http://www.eater.com/2017/3/23/15043120/ina-garten-new-show-cook-like-a-pro
  21. I looked around a bit online for info on a fourth Gourmet Detective movie and came across Dylan Neal's Facebook page. Bottom line: it's coming, probably later this year, and he sold another food-related rom-com script to Hallmark: Gourmet Detective 4 news
  22. My PBS station aired two more Christmas editions of Masterclass yesterday. Some delicious-sounding recipes (I hate that we can't taste them, too, LOL) and Paul and Mary seemed to be having so much fun.
  23. My PBS station aired the Christmas episode of Masterclass this afternoon. Paul and Mary made several delicious-looking desserts but the recipe I really want to try is the turkey/ham pot pie with Paul's "cheat" puff pastry.
  24. That menu was right up my alley. If someone grilled lamb chops for me with those sides, I'd be in heaven. And seeing dear Michael arrange the centerpiece and lanterns was so sweet. I missed the earlier episodes so I had not seen that scar on Ina's left cheek. That looks like it must have been a deep cut, so I'm happy to see that she is OK
  25. Loved this "behind the scenes" look at filming of this episode: Ina in Washington, DC
