  1. Tomorrow (4/9) is the last episode of the Inn renovation. A new series begins next week. If you're on Instagram, the Restoring 1900 account has photos from the Cordray's 10th recent wedding anniversary celebration.
  2. The fourth season of Be My Guest starts April 21 with Jennifer Garner as the first guest.
  3. The first episode was last week and episode two was last night.

I'm glad Nicolle Wallace is back. I can watch Alicia for four hours on weekends but I would be happy if they MSNBC execs decided to replace Katy Tur with Alicia.

No details but Nicolle said they were in the delivery room. I expect that she will be off quite awhile. I wonder if Alicia Menendez will be filling in for the rest of her time off.
  6. During the first hour, Mimi Rocah, DA in Westchester County in NY, was on. She was replaced at the table by Mara Gay of the NYT. But the chyron still said Mimi R. Oops.
  7. Profile of Kristen Kish from the NYTimes (gifted) How Does Kristen Kish Feel at the Top of "Top Chef"? It's Complicated
  8. A historic inn and its restaurant, helmed by Lee Anne Wong from the early seasons of Top Chef, were lost in the Maui wildfires. She's been working with World Central Kitchen to feed those affected and is urging those who want to contribute to donate to Maui United Way. https://wapo.st/3Ow0lJe (article is gifted, I think)

Was she off more than one day last week? That was the day when everyone from 4 pm up to 10 pm was off. She has been doing her show remotely for awhile with only an exception or two (Biden interview day).
  10. I watched the first episode today and it was fairly entertaining. Young tech entrepreneurs bought a bayside bungalow from a 90 year old who had lived there for 45 years. They wanted to remodel and update and rent it for now, with plans to move there later in life. Of course it was knotty pine everywhere and had significant mold/fungus damage to the supporting beams beneath the floor. Scott took a very small 5th bedroom for expansion of a primary suite and creation of a room to house all the equipment for the smart home technology, which was everywhere--voice activated doors, appliances, lights, etc. Debra also found a cool product to clad the existing fireplace stone without grout. The decor overall was nice and fairly gimmick free other than the smart home technology. Scott projects that they could rent it for $1000/night in an area where the average rental is $400/night.

As expected, former CNN host Ana Cabrera will take over the one hour spot following Morning Joe, starting Monday 4/10. https://deadline.com/2023/04/ana-cabrera-msnbc-cnn-1235318448/Ana
  12. I'm OK with this format as along as the guests are interesting and can bring something culinary to the table. That said, my favorite episode by far was Nathan Lane's....he was hysterical. I have high expectations for the Stanley Tucci episode this season. His Italy show was very good.

Schedule changes at MSNBC are coming next month: new schedule I like the changes so far. Now if they can find someone to take an hour or two of the Morning Joe time....
  14. Ina is featured in a short video for the NY Times magazine this week. She met with one of her biggest fans, who just happens to be the creative director for the French design house Schiaparelli, and they cooked risotto together. The story is gifted--enjoy! 15. Evelyn Garcia from Top Chef Houston is doing an online cooking class next month through Central Market (a Texas based grocery chain). Evelyn's cooking class
  16. The contestant on Great American Recipe who was on one of the GGG episodes with grandmothers is named Robin. She cooks "Mediterranean" food.
  17. Thanks for creating this topic. I've wanted to comment somewhere but couldn't figure out the right forum. ITA about Antonio being a surprisingly good host. The premise of the competition is OK but limiting it to "beach" food makes me wonder how repetitive it will be by the end. I've been watching too much Guy's Grocery Games because I recognized two of the contestants in the Beachside Brawl from his series--Jada from the East Coast and the blonde from the West who was eliminated in the most recent episode. I also saw another GGG contestant on the PBS Great American Recipe competition. Obviously, I need to turn off GGG!
  18. I didn't make it to the end, so I'm happy to hear that Rashad won. Bobby was obviously unhappy from the beginning and I would be spectaulating if I tried to identify why. I hope that they look at this season and why Bobby was so cranky/distanced and if they can't make the appropriate changes, they scrap plans for future episode. Of course it all comes down to ratings and money, and Bobby Flay has lots of pull.
  19. I like Alex Wagner so I'm looking forward to this change. Alex Wagner takes Maddow T-F hour
  20. I decided to binge For the Love of Kitchens today and I'm hooked. I was particularly smitten with the fourth episode which was focused on a small flat in St. Ives, a coastal town in Cornwall. Paul, one of the principles in the series, was from the area and he purchased the flat in a six unit terrace as a vacation getaway/rental. Of course, the renovation that was shown was primarily a kitchen and living area and they used cabinetry removed from their show kitchen. What captivated me was the location. I'll never get to SW England to see St. Ives, but it was amazing. And I can understand why Paul and his partner Helen would want to spend time there.
  21. Looking forward to hearing what Rachel has to say tonight about the crazy Loudermilk "tour" story.
  22. So at this point, Bobby will poach Sunny, leaving Jet with Winnie who is likely to go next week or the following. He'll be out of the competition then, I guess. I have a feeling that this will all work out ok for Mr. Flay.
  23. I'm having a hard time enjoying this season also. Bobby has been in a foul mood since the beginning; Anne has been overly involved without being helpful; and the contestants are struggling too much. I'd be okay with Tina getting eliminated but would that allow Bobby to poach Sunny or Rashad, one of whom is the likely winner, at the last minute?
  24. New season starts tonight at 8 pm on the Magnolia Network.
