7 Little Johnstons - General Discussion
Ms.Lulu replied to Meredith Quill's topic in 7 Little Johnstons
I decided to watch the latest episode, and this one was shocking! 1) Amber says (to the therapist) this was supposed to be the year of Amber and she resents having having family intrude. We all know she insisted that Liz, Brice and Leighton move in. The therapist suggests that the four adults get together and come up with a plan. It is clear she is interpreting that as the therapist's support for Amber to unload on Brice 2) Amber tells Liz that Brice needs to spend more time at the Johnston home and Liz tries to share it is difficult for him as Amber and Trent don't give him a chance to parent his daughter. Liz suggests they move out and rent and Amber starts the narrative that Liz is shutting down and being defensive 3) Amber tells the therapist that Anna is jealous of the baby and won't engage with the family. I mean, Amber has offered to attend graduation and take photos! The therapist says Anna has trauma from her adoption experience and likely has an attachment disorder. When Amber leaves, the therapist hopes that Anna can get the tools and professional help she needs 4) Anna shares with her friend Autumn and in a talking head that she isn't walking in graduation because Amber has been competing with her all year. She doesn't feel she can ever do well enough. She is stepping back 5) Emma goes to prom with an awkward boy and Alex stands nearby and cries because they play a song that played when he met his girlfriend 6) The younger 2 have an awkward pre-prom dinner with friends and Amber planned and provided gifts for a bad white elephant game 7) Jonah jokes about alcohol and leans away from his family on the interview couch 8) Trent and Heidi have the only enjoyable moments of the episode when they talk about losing their father and how much they mean to each other My takeaways: 1) Amber is an emotionally abusive parent and a control freak. She thinks she is the star and puppeteer of her children's lives. She is horrible to the bone 2) Trent is afraid of dying and is looking for connection and support from his sister, because he doesn't get it from Amber 3) The older three kids are all unhappy and they will need therapy to find happiness and personal fulfillment. 4) If Liz and Brice have a chance of making it, they need to get far away from Amber This has dipped into a place of being the worst show on television because because Amber is possibly a narcissist and definitely a jerk.- 2.1k replies

I agree with everyone! On a revote, I think that Brit would have to seize the opportunity and get Danielle out. It is the best strategic move. It will make her look like a faithful. Would she ever be foolish enough not to do that? Brit has a bigger chance of winning with Dylan, Ivar and Gabby 'running' the game. Delores has been terrible. And I have to believe that Danielle will exact BB revenge on Brit by sacrificing her to the group. If Danielle stays around, I think Dolo will vote with Danielle and ensure a traitor win. Dolo has wasted votes, not contributed a lot of challenges, and can't see the traitors in front of her. Her getting a share of a faithful win would be disappointing.

Thanks, I have updated.

I saw that Gabe posted on Instagram for the first team in almost five years. He indicated he could fall in love with Chicago. https://www.instagram.com/p/DGJ1BV-uJCu/?img_index=1 If he relocates (he has graduated from NAU) The Brown kiddo distribution looks something like: Logan: Nevada Hunter: Nevada Madison: North Carolina Savanah: North Carolina Paedon: North Carolina Mykelti: North Carolina Aspyn: Utah Ysabel: Utah Truly: Utah Gwen: Arizona Leo: Colorado Gabe: Illinois? Robyn's kids: All Arizona I imagine that since Gwen is married and her wife's family is in Arizona, that she is there for the long haul. It is interesting that everyone else has left quickly. The likelihood that Kody will be able to mend relationships might get lower as they all move. I guess Flagstaff was never really home for anyone but Robyn, Kody and their kids.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Ms.Lulu replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I am not assuming that the OG3 controlled the show money. I believe: 1) None of the Brown adults may have prioritized health insurance. 2) The OG3 were given a smaller portion of the family money, but received some money from the pot. 3) The OG3 all participated in MLMs. We know by Flagstaff the wives had separate funds (in addition to the family pot) as they all talk about paying the rent or mortgage themselves. In the case of Christine, it may have been the multiple MLMs that she was engaged in that paid her mortgage and other expenses. What I assume: Christine and her kids made more than what would qualify them for medicaid she would have been able to make up to $40K to qualify. She was paying her household expenses herself (she has said that she was paying them herself so assume she isn't lying). I looked here at the expenses for a family of 4 in Flagstaff and assumed the childcare expense would be for college expenses. They suggest that a family of 4 would need between $140K-150K for a living wage. https://livingwage.mit.edu/metros/22380 I get that families of 4 in Flagstaff can live on less--Janelle seemed to live on a lot less in 2018 when she was supporting Garrison, Gabe and Savannah. -
Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Ms.Lulu replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
There was originally a mandate that everyone not covered by employment, Medicaid, or Medicare were required to go through ACA or similar to ensure they had minimum essential coverage or face a federal tax penalty. It was repealed. I did a quick calculation on what Christine would have paid for medical insurance when she first moved to AZ. With herself and three eligible kids, and a salary of $150K (show and MLMs), for the lowest level coverage she would pay ~$800/month. We've heard that the Browns didn't always insure their cars. It isn't surprising they don't have insurance for their kids. -
Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.

Given that the tenders are a teen and a tween (Sol is 13 and Ari is 9), maybe the nanny dusts. -

There are a few in other franchises that might make the cut-- Kathy Hilton and Tinsley Mortimer. -
Oh, and this made me think of Heather and Lisa. You're welcome! https://www.instagram.com/sienaumetsu/reel/DE4QSYPR9IU/

I think they believe that if they stick together then Bravo won't get rid of any of them. Except: 1) Bravo showed Meredith name calling when she said she didn't 2) Bravo showed Meredith's threat clip and then showed Angie was also right. 3) In R1, Bravo showed Heather whispering to Lisa in the fight with Bronwyn to just apologize as Bronwyn's got this 4) Bravo reinforced that John can't park 5) Andy flat out said that the podcast interviewer was asking leading questions to Sean 6) Bravo showed very little footage of Heather from the season 7) They went out of their way to suggest Lisa is shallow by showing how she lacks empathy, talks of cyber lawyers, and how she hasn't flown coach in years. It seemed like Andy and Bravo were backing Mary, Angie and Bronwyn. And they were showing the hypocrisy of Lisa and Meredith. Heather and Whitney were sitting at the kids table.

I hope that Meredith demanding a clip be played or she would walk (Bravo did, but also played the clip supporting Angie) is the last straw for Andy. He did not look pleased.

RHoSLC in the Media: So Salty!
Ms.Lulu replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City
I loved her teen hair. Now it seems thin, which happens in your 50s. I agree that she is using extensions. Purplearugala5766 put this screenshot up yesterday on reddit. They are talking about Baby G's hair too. -
That was my hair in 1988! I meant it when I said it was beautiful hair. 😆

Danielle Staub, Nene Leakes (convicted, probation), Kim Richards (convicted, no jail time), Gina Kirtschenheiter (convicted, no jail time), Brandi Glanville and Marisol Patton (both DUIs, pled lesser counts). I'm sure there are others. -
Because she had this beautiful hair in high school: https://www.instagram.com/realyearbooksofbravo/p/CdwhhdPvCtE/?img_index=1 If you'd like to see more photos of the cast: https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/18187821763092338/

Any thoughts on the finale? Virgo Queen was the right winner for me. I might have had Helena Poison in place of Mikaela in the final two. Not sure why, but this felt like a junior varsity season. Maybe that's why we aren't talking about it.

Loved this show. It has been a while since a show could make me cry with happiness. My take on Iceland: I thought he was just a vehicle to show that Sam was learning to appreciate and love herself and her life. It was hard (and important) for Joel to share he loves her unconditionally and to tell Sam she is his person. I think that allowed her to risk loving her sister unconditionally and to risk being vulnerable with Iceland. I think the end game is/was Sam loving herself and starring in her own life. She might end up in a longterm relationship with Iceland, and he might be a short stop, but either way he is different than the ax throwing hook up and even the attempt to sleep with her neighbor. Sam is showing trust and vulnerability.

S5.E16: Burn Books, Revisited? SEASON FINALE
Ms.Lulu replied to ZettaK's topic in The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City
This finale disappointed. This season, few of the housewives had (interesting) storylines. Bronwyn and Mary carried the show. I'd say Angie and Whitney were supporting tier. Lisa and Meredith were same old, same old. And Heather was nearly invisible. I think the show could easily move on with continuity if it cast off Meredith (self -proclaimed smart word-choosing, bat mitzvahed ending slut-shaming Park City part-time resident), Lisa (I make vodka, I'm rich, happily married and fabulous and everything is Whitney's fault), and Heather (I'm a proud glutide-taking former mormon, enjoying fashion, without a storyline). And you could probably add Whitney to the drop list, but it would be fun to see how the OGs reacted to her staying on the reality sites. (I agree with Whiney, they all have relationships with bloggers and gossip sites.) Much like the season, the producer driven text sharing idea was too heavy-handed. I do wonder if the end of all real housewives series is here and all series have jumped the shark. -

I will quit Bravo and cancel my Peacock premium streaming subscription. There's no need to see that! -
I'd actually be interested, if it is real, in Ashley's journey exploring her drag king side. But it can't be just a storyline because drag can be a way for the LGBT community to organize against homophobia and question gender norms.

I really want to know why Robyn assumes that she and Kody weren't invited to the wedding because they were voted off the family island, not because they are grifters. Who invites their ex-husband to their wedding? Did Robyn's ex-husband attend her wedding to Kody?

I would have either donated the quilt to a thrift shop or sold it on eBay after swiping out any of my squares I wanted to keep with thrift store tee squares.
