These last two episodes have not made me like Charles any better, I keep waiting to see what the show wants me to see in him and I can't.

Plus he'd just seen what she looked like when she was 50 plus and she looked pretty much the same as she had done in her twenties... Anyway, the one thing I wanted to see in the movie was the other picture(s) on Peggy's desk. Steve definitely pushed something away to look at the picture of skinny Steve. I can wait until I have to get a subscription to the new streaming Disney service to see the recording (I would have to FF most of the Iron Man scenes in any case.)

I noticed that Becca had some hay in her hand the second time they went for the eggs. There was hay on the display table with the cheese and eggs. I would have stuffed the bag with hay so that the eggs were swaddled in it so they would have a better chance of getting across the ditch and to market without being cracked. From what I remember, the eggs were generally just loose in the sack -- right?

Maybe this is why I have a hard time finding Charles attractive at all. Yes, physically, he checks many of the boxes, but emotionally and viscerally, it's quite the opposite, and it's getting worse. I see him leaning in to kiss Liza and I feel my body cringing and retreating. It's the opposite with Josh. Nico does not attract me in the least (he is WAY too extra) but the chemistry he has with Liza is through the roof.

Someone mentioned how unfair and cruel it would have been if Steve just came back in time to let Peggy know he was alright, have a dance with her, and leave. I've been considering this, and I realized that I don't agree. In my early 20's, I had an intense relationship with a man. My family moved me to a different continent (it could have been to a different time) and I didn't hear from him for 30 years. He informed my later relationships, I had his picture on my desk at work for years, and I did always wonder what happened to him. When we met again, he was married, a SAHD with 4 children under 6. We talked, he apologized for being distant, less than faithful, and unkind. He had actually followed me to the country I had moved to, and tried to find me. We're not friends - his politics are not mine -- but I'm forever grateful for what he did to complete the past.

That's me - I have great near vision so I don't need or like glasses for computer work, reading, eating, having close conversations, etc, and only need glasses in class, watching TV, driving, etc. My progressive lenses have clear or almost clear glass at the bottom so I don't have to take them off to see my GPS, or read ingredients, or take notes. It's been this way all my life. I really enjoy being able to take my glasses off and just be in my bubble of perfect vision. 🙂

It also depends on when he went back to. We know from Agent Carter that she was working in Manhattan after the war and living in the boarding house. If he went back then, he's 10-15 years older than he was before - which could change the balance of the relationship. Going by the cars (and I am NOT a car expert), it seemed like he visited about 4 or 5 years later at which point she was already moving on.

I have been la-la-la-ing about this myself, and have decided that Steve went back to fulfill a promise to dance with Peggy, wished her well, picked up an intact shield, returned to present day, handed off the shield and retired to go paint and train young mutants.

And Steve is definitely not stupid.

There was at least one other picture on the desk but I didn't catch who was in it. Steve moved it away to pick up the picture of himself. The other picture may well have been the same picture of her kids that she had in the nursing home in DC -- or of her husband... Also, her office (as head of SHIELD) was at the military camp where Captain America came into being, and having skinny Steve on her desk was a reference to her reason for being there. She was directly involved in the project before he even joined the army. She would have been at least 50 by that time but from the glimpse we saw of her, she looked pretty much the same as she had. (And, just to reiterate, I like Peggy Carter as a character, and as Steve's first love/crush/fantasy, and, if he'd survived the crash, they may have gotten together for a while. However, as a woman who knew her way around fondue, she didn't pine for him, and had moved on.)

I had a thought about why Steve needed to go back and dance with Peggy: he's always been a man of his word and that broken promise haunted him. Knowing he COULD go back, it was clear that he HAD to go back and make it right for her. No need to get married or stay -- just giving her the dance would have been enough.

As I have had distinctly un-familial thoughts about Steve, it was disturbing to realize that old Steve looked EXACTLY like my dad. (I have had counselling and I have put it behind me for the moment. 🙂 ) I had been pondering, before Endgame, what Steve would do in retirement. He's a great teacher and was very helpful to Wanda - I thought he could foster mutants before they get to the school, helping them to get used to their powers. And yes, I agree with many of you upstream, he needs to move on -- not return to a long-ago fantasy. Peggy moved on.

A well-designed corset can be unhooked from the front. (And having a zipper at the back can make it hard to get into and out of on your own as well.) And, I actually quite like Tessa -- she's pretty innocuous and I like many of the pieces she's made.

And, as mentioned above, Victorian Elizabethan as well. I did actually like the ruff collar - it was definitely the core of something interesting and it was a shame he didn't have time to finish it (or even think it through). I liked that he used quilting and puffing to make the collar stand up instead of boning or starch. It would definitely frame the face (and hide the chin). I also liked the way the winning jacket also took on an Edwardian look with the leg of mutton sleeves and then translated it into a modern bomber jacket. Loved it. In reference to the history of dress, I know the Victoria & Albert museum in London opens its costume vaults to designers for reference. (Vivienne Westwood visited frequently to look at the structure of historical clothing.) In return, they accept donations from runway collections for their collection and create exhibits on newer designers too. I know the Met in NYC has a huge vault - do they do the same thing? They do regular exhibitions but I don't know enough of their relationship with new designers - particularly after they've graduated from design school. There's basically nothing new under the sun, but it helps to look at what's old and know how to recreate it.

Me too! Though David should know better about asking if they were 24 karat; if they were, they would be far too soft for everyday wear on hands that have to be working... Oh... maybe, never mind... 😉 I do like how the couples all know each partner's strengths and weaknesses and love each other for them. (Always excepting Roland.)

Malcolm could be answering the phones and making appointments, so that the mechanically skilled labor get to do what needs to be done.. He's personable and quite friendly - more so than his dad. At my service station, the people on the phone and at the front desk are the face of the company -- and it would be great to have an ex-ball player there. It's definitely better than earning nothing.

This was lampshaded in this episode when Poppy says to Will's daughter: I sometimes forget I'm not talking to an adult when I talk to you.

I guess they really don't count PRAS as part of the PR family if they say that Mimi is the first transgender model on the show. Didn't we JUST see a PRAS show about 3 weeks ago (and filmed 2 years ago) that featured more than one transgender model? Mimi's accent sounded Thai and I was glad to find out that she was. Transgender models have long been popular in Thailand. In the early '80s, the leading swimwear model, Ma, was transgender. There's long been an acceptance of a "third gender". Cavanaugh's entitlement reminded me of the twins. Glad to see her gone.

I like the theory that Howard was originally behind Project Pegasus (before he was killed by Bucky of course...).

Before the 1920's, pink was always the color for young boys as it was considered light red, and therefore a "hot" color. Girls wore blue as it was a "cool" color.
