  1. Yeah, 10 weeks seemed really long. However, it has to be that long for plot purposes, I imagine in real life, a camp like that would have like a 2-3 week session for first timers, then maybe a 5-6 week session for experienced campers. I just did a quick google search, found one that has a 7 week session, another has 5 weeks. I've heard that the Pacific Ocean is much colder than the Atlantic. With the bunk, they seemed to be prepared - I cannot imagine that Maya was as on top of things as they implied without mentioning something about that. Worst case scenario, they probably have rails for the beds. My concern was how will JJ communicate his needs - maybe a series of mirrors for him to shine his laser at to alert someone? Probably a light sensor. Or maybe, they just have an electronic board for him to use at night. Yeah, that was such a great idea for webisodes. I imagine that at the least, we'll have flashbacks. Maybe a little "How I spent my summer vacation" cold open.
  2. Can't - there is no one frequency (that isn't the word, but that is what came to mind) of strobing/pulsing light that causes a seizure. It can be something as slow as flicking a light on and off really quick to a strobe so fast that you can't even tell it is strobing. They've flashed stuff like that at me during EEGs.
  3. Yeah. Maybe Lena, Lillian, and Wynn will have to deal with lead poisoning next season. Huh. If Supergirl were helping out doctors doing free X-rays, if the patients had lead poisoning, would she be able to see stuff? Will the lead in the atmosphere affect the X-Ray vision?
  4. Oh yeah - status epilepticus is super sucky (had a series of three of them when I was 6) - but with how inclusive JJ's school is... I imagine that they would know if any student had epilepsy. They'd probably act towards that student like they did towards JJ. Potential plot next season? A new student with some kind of disability arrives, jealousy arises?
  5. With the lead... sure, let's say how it is dispersed through the atmosphere, it won't harm humans... But what about Winn, Lena, and Lilian? They were in that cloud. They probably all got lungfuls of it. Guess they're screwed?
  6. With epilepsy - PSE is less common than some people think - it only occurs in around 1 in 4000 people with epilepsy.
  7. Watch them. The two part season finale was so, so Saturday Morning Cartoon-y - and it was entertaining in a Scorpion way.
  8. Jimmy has airline vouchers as a perk of his job - Maya mentioned that she was going to use the last one to get there. 10 weeks might be what the camp has - though that seems a bit long, maybe since JJ is an older teen, the length of camp is longer? 6 weeks seems more reasonable - then the camp could potentially hold two sessions a summer - one for people in places where school lets out in may, another where school lets out in june.
  9. Also, this wasn't a true Scorpion season finale - nobody sped off in a car!
  10. That was *terrible* by objective standards, but it was Scorpion at its full Scorpion-est They better have that pilot be a recurring character, because he was great.
  11. I loved that episode. I want season 2 now. Ray's a teenage boy. An awkward teenage boy. He wants to have a girl at least express interest in him.
  12. I hope that now that they have had time to read fan reactions to the season, that they will show how history changed next season - maybe have Lucy go through a debriefing and someone just off handedly mentions "Oh it's just like Nelson Meyer!" "Who?" "You know, the guy who kept the Untouchables going through the Depression!"
  13. It didn't seem like Kenneth was doing anything with the camp. My head canon about the way I think it went down was maybe JJ and Kenneth were talking about independence - maybe Kenneth was like "What about a camp, or something?" - then Kenneth helped research it for JJ. Or since they use a program to help subsidize Kenneth (The one that provided the aide in the pilot) - maybe Kenneth has to go there every once in a while to pick up a paycheck, or get training, or something like that and he saw the brochure for the camp, grabbed it, and showed it to JJ. Yeah - the brochure said it was a special needs camp. They exist. Here's one in California - https://www.abilityfirst.org/programs/programs_camppaivika.aspx These two websites seem to list camps, but I would google to learn about whatever you see on these - directory sites tend to not be frequently updated, or just put random things up - http://www.veryspecialcamps.com/ & http://specialcampsforspecialkids.com/ - so check reviews, facebook, etc. of other camps - there's a good amount of them here in the Northeast, some of the kids I was in self contained classes K-2 with went to them and they liked them a lot - two of the kids I took Adaptive PE with in HS went to some camp in upstate NY and they *loved* it.
  14. I don't know - just see how she coddles JJ and wants to spend all the time she can with him. She might've had stuff planned for them to do - Maybe Jimmy & Ray/Dylan do stuff in the summer - or maybe Dylan does a summer sport, or track & field stuff. Ray seems more solitary, he'd probably use the lack of a school night to use a telescope to view the stars. I don't think it was mean - it seemed more than the possibility of JJ being at a 10 week camp blindsided Maya .
  15. Maybe it'll become a hit in its second season :D (After a bit of retooling)
  16. The epilogue was released by CW. They also did one for No Tomorrow. Here's the AVClub article about both - http://www.avclub.com/article/cw-releases-epilogues-frequency-and-no-tomorrow-255304 and here's the video: http://cwtv.com/shows/frequency/frequency-epilogue/?play=ce83ea5c-072c-41dc-b46c-32da7be429e3&promo=tw-
  17. Yeah, it got renewed back in March.
  18. Well that uncancellation was the best TV news this week. Pretty much nothing that I *really* cared about got canned (still waiting to hear about New Girl, though!). I'm hoping we get this as like an April/May next year premiere. Or if multiple shows crash and burn next season and they toss in Timeless.
  19. I don't think they have shown JJ to have seizures. Hopefully he (and Micah!) don't have seizures. Seizures at school suck. I had one my junior year of high school. My classmates and the teacher were all shocked. The nurse told me that I didn't have epilepsy and it was just syncope. My neurologist yelled at the principal to yell at the nurse on his behalf (He does a *lot* of work for the district). The hospital scene It was unrealistic, but it was an homage to Goodfellas, I believe. I have juice at my local oncologist. Everyone there knows me. The office staff, the doctors, the phlebotomist, the nurses - they'll see me and be like "Oh hey, [bros], how are you doing? Didn't know you had an appointment today!" Last time, I went early, at 2 PM (I normally have an appointment at 4:30-5:00) and everyone I saw was like "Hi [bros]! Oh wow, the day has gone faster than I thought!" Then I had to tell them I was there for an early appointment :P If I call the office for any reason, they usually get one of the doctors or the NP on the phone, not just one of the regular nurses. I'm not known at my preferred hospital by name.... but by symptom. Last time I was in the ER there, they said "Hey, are you the guy who had the purple feet?"
  20. Maybe his legs might pull in/tense up? Or maybe he had some kind of knee surgery in the past like JJ?
  21. Good episode. I like how it continued with the theme of JJ's furthering attempts of independence. Can't believe next week is the season finale. Or that Speechless hasn't been officially renewed yet.
  22. It wasn't NBC owned, so the licensing fees were probably the dealbreaker. IMO they could've made it cheaper if they focused a 10-13 episode season on a 1-2 decade period, with occasional stuff to the recent past (so it'd just be a bit of set dressing to make it look like the 70s) Taken was owned by NBC. It is very lucrative internationally because of the Taken name.
  23. The extra energy created by the Lena/Rhea portal testing made them lose control of their abilities because "the baseline electromagnetic activity in the planet's atmosphere had a significant shift" or something like that Kara was probably given a pop culture primer - so she would pass as an Earth girl.
  24. I think if they retooled it and put it on Friday, gave it a bit of advertising, it might do well for friday.
  25. If that were in NY, I would be tempted to go.
