  1. I liked that pilot. I gave it a shot because of Emily Kapnek and, well, another good pilot from a show she's behind.
  2. Maybe drunk driving? That'd be one way to get lucky. Maybe the daughter called Glassman from a party to get picked up, he missed the call due to surgery or something, then the daughter got a ride from a drunken kid - or they got hit by a drunken kid on the way home. I was thinking it was cancer.
  3. So Jiya being perfectly healthy in this episode - anyone else thinking that her body is sort of incongruous with time, and when she has an episode, it's her future brain jumping to her current brain? Since her heart murmur went away - maybe her heart is now functioning like her pre-murmur heart
  4. I thought that it was going to end up that the aunt was being so nice the first night because she was sick/dying.
  5. They need 47 episodes to get Speechless to 88, they could do a two parter to get two episodes out of the way (Then we'd have less filler!), they'd probably do that for JJ graduating high school. They can definitely play around with the schedule to get it in, especially since there are no Olympics next year to make February a month of nothing.
  6. I remember reading something somewhere about cancellation %s by season - and for comedies, season 3 had the lowest cancellation rate - in general, I think it is like 70% of shows get cancelled in their first season, a little less than that for the second season, then like 30% for the third season.
  7. Woohoo! And if it gets a 3rd season, it is all but guaranteed to get a 4th so it'll hit syndication numbers
  8. That is all but guaranteed. Maybe the trial starts up quicker than expected, Sadie gets it, and ends up dying.
  9. Flynn worked for the NSA and saw things about an organization called Rittenhouse in intercepts
  10. Okay - since unless this show gets better ratings from here on out it is gonna get canned - do you think we'll learn what kind of cancer Stella had, or will they just stick with Cancer™? It's really bugging me they won't even give a type like blood (Then it could be leukemia, lymphoma, OR myeloma! So many choices!), lung, bone, etc.
  11. I liked that episode. I really hope it gets renewed - I will be very disappointed if it gets cancelled. At least it tied up the Ray-Taylor plot in case it gets cancelled.
  12. I like how pretty much everyone other than Stella has PTSD over Stella's cancer. Love triangles are stupid. Why doesn't Stella have any scars? Or maybe she hasn't had her port out yet.
  13. Seward (Secretary of State) was the third assassination target
  14. Don't need to have an IV or medical stuff for cancer - Toblerone could just be lying in bed feeling like crap from treatment and the doctor is going to adjust his meds to help him feel better..
  15. That's what I was thinking - it's a kind of reminder to her so she can see a moment where she did something horrible that she cannot blame on anyone but herself.
  16. One of the bigger issues I have physically is doors. More places than you'd think have *really* heavy doors. Some of those heavy doors I can't really open - I have to hold the handle, lean back with most of my weight, and it budges a bit. Usually after a minute I might be able to squeeze in the door. Sometimes people open the door when they see me struggling. Crosswalks are also a bit difficult. Sometimes I cross the road and people just speed through the crosswalk right behind me - I usually take the full 20 seconds or whatever the crosswalk timer has.
  17. That was a good episode, I like how the sleeper agents are working out so far.
  18. according to google, you need a degree in architecture (which I am pretty sure Jimmy has), one year of work experience under a licensed architect (from the episode where Jimmy showed Ray his windows, it seems like Jimmy might have quit before the year was up), and pass a few exams. However, JJ is 18, so he was born in 2000. The requirements could have been very different back then, so maybe he has a license. I doubt the license would expire.
  19. I hope they have Jimmy do architect stuff on the side - since, well, they still need health insurance - but maybe Jimmy will qualify for some kind of early retirement - since he has worked there for 18 years (Since he got the job before or shortly after JJ was born. Hopefully before. Kids with disabilities are pricey.) and I would not be surprised if they went "Oh look Jimmy you can retire and you get to keep your health insurance, now go be an architect!" Since, well, until JJ gets a job, even if he gets over 26, a lot of insurance companies have a way to continue coverage of an overage disabled dependent. It's just a matter of asking the right people and filling out the pile of paperwork.
  20. Let's just say Kevin paid her generously and she had it saved up. Or maybe her insurance paid a chunk of it and she paid the rest - since didn't her doctor recommend it?
  21. Yeah, but I imagine they didn't want Stella coming over and not seeing any of her mom's stuff there.
  22. Also, was the lease for 12 or 18 months? Since if it was 12 months, that means that only a year has passed since the pilot - or maybe they waited until 1-2 months after they moved there to sign a non-month-to-month lease - since Jimmy did tell Ray in one of the early episodes that they had the old house for a bit
  23. The whole family needs a lot of therapy since they don't seem like they were getting it when Stella was sick. None of them know how to express themselves because they were suppressing everything for Stella's sake. Well she moved out of the house so quickly because of Stella getting better. I bet any longer and she would have just been spending some nights at the house of the family friend. I think her wanting to sell the house because of the bad memories adds a bit of color/depth to her character, rather than the expected "I want this divorce over with ASAP!" motivation
  24. I liked these episodes. Dating with a disability is a real issue. I'm glad the show is going into it. I'm surprised JJ got messages so quickly (Or that none of them were from bots!), but that had to happen for expediency's sake. Ray wants to date because he is 15. He is a bundle of hormones.
  25. I liked the tone of this episode versus the pilot. Also, Stella is 23? I was thinking she was at least 25. She complained about having an 18 or 20 year old boss, It's not like she's in her mid-20s. I wonder if she is going to go to college. Her father's a professor - kids of professors usually get reduced tuition.
