(very late response lol but) - I was always team Mary (I always liked her and I could understand her caustic nature). Edith was the walking epitome of "Why are you surprised when you keep hitting the bear that the bear rears back and smacks you?" Edith is in love with Patrick, and berates Mary for not being as emotional as she is - when it was so evident that even though they were family the only reason why Mary was engaged to him was to 'save Downton/Save the money" I never understood Edith even sending that letter to the Embassy. It would not have ruined Mary but it would have splashed on Sybil and herself as well she never even thought about it. and that hung on Mary for years. Even the whole Old Boyfriend thing - started because Edith told Mary something akin to. she's not as charming etc, as she thought she was, and Mary went "Oh really, challenge accepted." Charmed the pants off the Old Boyfriend, Edith got pouty said something shirty, THEN Mary sent him running. Everything Mary did to Edith it was in response to Edith's challenges, or trying to 1 up on her. but yet still when Mary finding out the entire world knows about Marigold, and brings it up to Bertie, Edith gets to have "your a bitch, and you want to be miserable." well sweetheart you kind of arranged the pieces that way too didn'tcha. Edith just really seemed that she was an Eyeore type of person and even Cora and Robert were like "uguh she's going to be the one taking care of us in our old age, isn't she?"

to be fair - as much as you don't want it/like it - it's fine that people can accept the damage if they accept the damage and move on. again for me it would be nice if they admitted if they didn't work because it would just be a different story beat and that's what I am always for. and as someone pointed out a while ago. most soap opera couples have some hint of toxicity/ill suitedness towards each other at some point. it's very rare if they have none and you lose out on a chunk of drama if they didn't have a smidge. regardless if you have zero time for the couple or if they are your favourite on planet earth. lol to be fair to that they had several chances together as adults. but i get what you mean.

because that would have been logical and make sense

honestly, when it comes to Liz and Lucky - it would actually be really refreshing if they had a very serious conversation that regardless of how much they love each other - they aren't good for one another and they work better as friends [and they share a kid], and they'll always be part of each other's lives but they don't have to be in a relationship because they both hurt each other constantly. it's not just about what Lucky has done to Liz but Liz has hurt Lucky as well (which Liz had stated several times throughout the years).

lol oh so Portia is passing judgement about Nina reporting a crime while she has no problems committing them to keep someone in jail because she needs to pay for hers? Okay Portia.
-
what's her glitch with Nina?
-
oh i know. But i just mean. they have a scene with Terry and Brad about proving himself and he'll be watched as a hawk. then all of a sudden we have a test switched just as Brad is back there? that's not fair on him, Portia [she probably doesn't since she was super focused on screeching about Heather]
-
honestly the person i feel sorry for is Brad because they did have this big scene about him wanting to be there and proving himself to be trustful and we already have a blood test switcheroo? they're gonna go straight for him. and honestly between this and Oz and other stuff, i'll be happy if someone comes around and knocks her down back to like. not in charge of the whole hospital. there were things out there that Ally Mills did not want to play a "bad guy" hence they are doing all of this. [why they just didn't go "oh okay thanks Ally, we're gonna go with someone else].

You know what the most eyerolling stupidest thing about this is. This is the same dipstick that for three. years. was pouting and throwing fits, and saying how Sonny deserves to go to jail basically because Daddy didn't love Mommy anymore and they got a divorce and he didn't like the woman Sonny was sleeping with at the time. but Jagger deserves to be murdered in cold blood, and leaving behind a special needs child because he was doing his job and arresting Sonny for doing illegal things and that's totally fine with Michael. I swear this show.
-
honestly and this is where it comes down to "there should be a point of no return." other shows do it, but this one refuses to. Sonny chooses Kate over Michael - Carly gets over it. Michael never even got mad when he got out of his coma. Sonny murders AJ, Carly hides it. Michael gets over it. Alexis is legit rotting in jail thinking she's protecting Kristina [i'm assuming]. Kristina is being pressured to confess to do something she never did and mr. "you can see who i really am, pew pew pew." can't open his damned mouth and go. "yeah i did it so what?" if this doesn't end with Alexis giving him the Bianca "You kept my daughter away from me?" openhand bitch slap, you might as well just close up shop.
-
man. that is mean. also. i am sorry you are grieving. have a hug (hug)

having not seen the scene [and knowing tracy] it probably came out Tracy but she's probably saying maybe you know instead of a private chef (which is not a demeaning job) - maybe open a restaurant or something (or run Bobbie's or something). so it's more "THIS IS ALL MINE" vs. thhem waking up one day and realising they don't need a private chef.
-
He and JFP - what a disgusting pair they are. then ask them and it's "Oh yah we love soaps."
-
forget talking. try smacking. smack the sense into your mama, Robin!

Alexa is a really great actress and she really gives it her all. I'm wondering really she's bringing her southern drawl to the role of Lulu because every thing i've seen her in she's had that twang. I think unless they really wanna revamp Lulu, she's going to be more JMB Lulu than ER's Lulu. I liked her as Babe until I loathed her as Babe but a lot of it was writing "Babe is Love." was def. a thing (but considering everything she did it was hard to get there if you saw the majority of the baby switch storyline). She def. held her own with Bobbie Eakes vs. Susan Lucci, etc so she'll do just fine with Jane & Genie. yeah pretty much. it got to the point no one gave a crap or remembered [including Kendall which really drove me nuts] the year of horror Babe put Bianca through. we were all supposed to get over it. Honestly... that's how I feel. they weren't the first people who didn't like storylines and they won't be the last. and while I agree they should have been ticked off that they pretty much dumped everything to prop up SBu again [AMC did this with Sabine Singh when Rebecca Budig decided she wanted to come back as Greenlee] I didn't like it then, I don't like it now, but honestly the lack of effort she put into the role [to the point where people had to ask if she was okay or sick] wasn't fair to her co-workers. Not to mention i feel that Sam is one of those characters that her story was over a long time ago but rode that crest of JaSam and benefited from it. I am just more surprised that they didn't recast her with Lindsay Hartley [though from what I am told she doesn't want to be full time so maybe that's it?]. but even w/her fans it's like okay bye Sam. (i will admit though i am curious about the tea, and i hope it's hot)

Brooklyn and Chase haven't even gone on their honeymoon yet, and they want to have a baby now? like. just enjoy being freaking married first. geeze marie. Man I remember when a baby on a soap meant something, on this show it's legit all they know what to do. "we need drama insert baby" there. that's all you needed.
-
which is fair. like again for me i am just defending the technoparent. for me personally, it just shows that he was being engaged. could it have been more for sure and if that is an issue for Aiden and they discuss it i'll be on Aiden's side. because yeah Lucky could have totally been like "okay every few months we meet up in London and we do some home schooling whatever. (or summers/christmas, long holidays). and soak up that time. but as i said I just feel uncomfortable being "lucky's a bad parent." because constantly skyped his kid. he was still connecting. that's more than a lot. [huge side eye Jason].
-
Grey's Anatomy taught me that one. the Old Sleeping Man woke up and spilled all the tea to team MAGIC. it was great lol. They were like "you know all of this?" and he was like "I was asleep in a coma not dead." hahaha Maybe Fionla is crying all the time because she is pissed off.
-
yeah. like i said - Lucky could have done better. and again Liz is fair to say it wasn't like building a real relationship but I really do think it's relative. Lucky could have been off screen "in PC" and taking part. but again I am not going to go. pft bad father because he was technoclose to his child. that's a lot more effort than a lot of parents do.
-
well that's why i asked. BringtheontheDrama was saying he went to Africa to run away from his problems. but is that why he left [like he said that?] because I'm "fine" with him being this year's deadbeat dad [because everyone has to be a deadbeat in this world apparently] but like i said. for me personally if Lucky was without fail [until he "vanished" and we need to know the reason], without fail building an online relationship with Aiden. is it like. the BEST thing ever? no but he was making an effort which is more than a lot of people would with the children in their lives. that's all. Liz can feel that's not enough and Aiden (if he says it wasn't) can feel like that and I wouldn't fight it. but for me personally an engaged dad is an engaged dad even if Dad needed to use Skype. that's all. it could be because Alexis could lose her license permanently and she's actually BFFs with her.
-
okay i have to laugh.. but honestly the right answer is. no one. no one needs to pay. it was an accident. I honestly wish that Kristina legit just slipped in the tub and fell on her stomach like the lady in Grey's Anatomy or something. the fact that they tied this into this stupid "murder plot." annoys me. this should have simply been a tragic unforseen accident not "WHO IS AT FAULT." is that why Lucky is working in Africa? (serious question). I just feel personally if Lucky was actually in contact, and they were talking frequently - I wouldn't be so dismissive of that. the show was making it sound like Aiden hadn't heard from him for years. Because dead honest. I would take a dad who made the effort to reach to me constantly via Zoom/Skype every week without fail vs. a lot of people who even live in the same house but makes zero effort. if that makes sense.
-
yesish... and noish. like. Imma gonna need Lucky to explain himself in regards to this (now that he's just a card playing con artist or something) but if he's in the heart of Africa doing whatever and he can't go to PC all the time and they don't want Aiden to go there - it's a valid relationship [to me anyway]. Molly is still salty that Alexis isn't choosing her. but when Alexis is like "let me be all supportive." molly is pissed that doesnt' equal kicking Kristina in her cootchie bits and disowning her at this point.
-
and I think this is what it is. Molly has every right to be angry. This is the second child that she had lost in a span of a year (right). She is now realising that Kristina was contemplating to keep the child and share custody (which. i mean. forget how it looks. the worse case scenario would be as if Kristina and TJ were in a relationship, split and they shared custody so Molly would still be the parent. It was always going to be complicated). But i think if she pushed past the anger etc, she would realize she's probably more angry at herself for not being more prepared as she usually would be. and TJ. Like I am really needing the show to stop acting like Kristina decided to go flying out the window by choice. You could reenact that fight 100 times and the amount of times the result equals: Kristina crashing into the pool happens like what? once? it's driving me bananas.
