yeah that makes sense now what you and YaddaYadda said. I also have to wonder if Elizabeth can just Hire Willow back. I know she's head nurse but still
-
Why are they making this so complicated. just make Willow a patient care advocate like Felicia and Stella. She'll still be dealing with patients and she makes her own hours. so she can still be with the kids whenever. Kristina is saying how she doesn't want to sleep because she keeps seeing her baby - and Willow was talking about the last time she really held her baby and everything. (and thanks for the Clarification). I didn't want to make it sound that Willow couldn/t shouldn't feel sad bout the child she lost but since she was never with "that baby" the pain would be... kinda different? i guess if that made sense? like how you'd feel sad if someone else's baby died. not your own..
-
it probably was just family only until she was out of danger.
-
Okay. I don't mean to be this person. But Willow never really bonded or had any connection to the baby that died right? basically from the moment the switch happened she was w/Wiley and everything. so wouldn't the baby that died just be a "oh that sucks?" like that one doesn't make sense to me. (i get it is her biological child, but it still seems off to me... hmm). TJ. as a doctor you should know everyone processes things differently. do better my dude. Honestly. I get it. Kristina is Blaze's partner, but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. i don't blame people for being. "Um. what?" on this. you can be there for someone and still do what you need to do.

Winter. Honestly because it just seems more intimate. There aren't as many events, so I feel I can catch everything. 98% of it, you can tune in and you know what's going on. It also doesn't feel as showy if this makes sense? And can't lie. Canada is more dominant haha. but I will always love Summer too

I can never really pick one thing. I just love the Olympics. I'll be honest I wasn't really feeling Paris. I don't know why - i've not really been well for a few years and really every day is basically - let's just get through the day. I've not really been into sports as a whole and usually, I am like ON IT when it comes to the Olympics. I honestly thought i grew out of it (as I stated somewhere else - I've been kinda watching Olympics since 92 - really fell in love with it because of Lillehammer) so it's been a huge part of my life. But even with the crazy Opening Ceremonies aside... it all came back. the rush of adrenaline, discovering new to me sports (Helloo Judo!!). debating what we like/don't like about certain aspects in sports, screaming at the top of my lungs when something amazing happened for my country, crying when something really amazing happened to any other country. the Olympics are magical. No matter how political or obnoxious things may get - for 16 days. the World is together. We all come together. it might sound really sappy but it's so true. so I guess my favourite thing about Paris 2024 is that it reminded me how much j'adore les Jeux Olympiques. It just took a little bit to get going this year that's all. So thank you Paris for that thanks so very much and if i have to pick one thing. Celine Dion. Always. best part.

Ahh.. yeah i can see how that can get a bit confused. and I am with you. so CAS probably saw :"logged in late" so the ruling is easy peasy. but didn't take into account the actual " accepted/assessed" which is on time. (which. again that's KIND OF YOUR JOB, CAS). - so it falls back onto the Jordan side of the scale. Which means it's back to Jordan and Ana loses out. (poor poppet - more so that she had to go through this entire mess to begin with). again judges. do your job. this gets avoided. what cracks me up is that in my head - no matter how this slices she never wins anything. Ana beat her. would she have quit then? or would it be "Oh! I won?! I rediscovered my love of sport, i'm back now!" like. sorry this seems like a big boohoo i didn't get anything, I'm quitting temper tantrum and I don't abide those. like sorry if this sounds mean - but grow up. [if she is retiring due to injury as well, then i take back some of the snark. some of it - because she made it sound it's a quit because of this]. she's the one i feel for the most. she won, she lost. she thought she had a chance -now she lost again because the freaking judges couldn't get it right the very first time. poor poppet.
-
She won a medal, but sadly she also filed a legal complaint due to all the bullying that she faced.
-
Okay - I am just going to say this. I still maintain my positions on this but Sabrina - if you are quitting gymnastics over this - then maybe you shouldn't have been an athlete to begin with. Again a miss like that sucks monkey but misses like that happen all over sport and costs people but they don't quit sport and go after the athletes who won. like sorry if this sounds mean - but you have a lot of growing up to do. yeup. def. 2002 vibes with this drama. So what the eff was the CAS ruling then?

money i imagine are they that bad?
-
also. can someone @ me when it looks like they are de-lighting the torch (and showing the exhibit for the next Olympics? CBC's online coverage is just not doing it for me right now
-
i gotcha. LOL and yeah. I haven't seen the USA ones yet though
-
Canada has CAN at the back of their uniforms. Honestly, I will say I hope COC goes back to using ROOTS or Hudson Bay as their clothier. I loathe Lululemon with the fire of a 1000 burning suns.
-
ahh they are in a stadium now. though CBC- the commercial shouldn't be bigger than the action we're supposed to be seeing.

The Paris Olympics: General Discussion And Anticipation
Daisy replied to CM-BlueButterfly's topic in 2024 Paris Olympic Games
that was the big thing. I never knew St Lucia never won a medal(or gold medal), until the 100m. that's always great. Congrats on USA being well USA lol -
Honestly - as i stated before - good for the USOPC for advocating for their athlete, and they stated it right off the hop. the judges screwed up. twice. and Jordan shouldn't have to suffer for that. As much as my heart hearts for both Ana/Jordan here - if this ends up revamping the judging system to be better (ie: ensuring that the start values are actually what they are, having 360 degree angles like in other sports, and a more fair/correct inquiry policy AND full transparency. then the stress right now is worth it so no one else has to go through what they do. I will also say unless it is something illegal (ie: drug tests or something that severe) - once the Final Results are posted - that's it. shut up. accept what happened and be gracious. no petitions, no nothing. Honestly this makes me feel i stepped into the TARDIS and I am in 2002 Salt Lake City, and the Pairs Skating controversy is happening all over again. At least that time it was clear Hollywood drama involving the Mob and all of that so it was really like OMG SOAPY!! as well. this is just stupid people making stupid mistakes and it just keeps compounding. And all FIG and IOC needed to do in this one instance was go. "You know what. we screwed up. we're sorry and in this one case both girls get medals and we'll shore up our practices." but no. they are digging their heels in and it's just back and forth nonsense. i think they had a jump off, and usually if they have the same amount of attempts over misses, the athletes can decide to share a medal. I think? that's what happened here. [another argument for non judged sports sadly].

The Paris Olympics: General Discussion And Anticipation
Daisy replied to CM-BlueButterfly's topic in 2024 Paris Olympic Games
Okay - Canada is done. I have to say overall this was a great Olympics. This was Canada's best ever winning 9 gold, 7 Silver & 11 Bronze. Once again we've Canadian-ized our way through the medal podium as a chunk of our medals were in events we've never medalled in before [or before a lot of us were born]. A lot of our heavy medal favourites were either coming into these games with injury - or crap happened and they got out early. but these things happen. Things that I really hope Canada works on in the next Olympiad. More swimming success. a lot of the medalists in the pool were at their last Olympic Games. [bye Maggie! Bye Kylie!] and it took a long time to be successful in the pool again. I really wish we could get stronger in Gymnastics and other Week 1 Sports. but Canada has almost historically been a Week 2 country (even in Winter).so basically the first week has always been a "let's try to get something to appease the masses" lol What happened to our rowing? While we got Women's Eights silver, bronze in Women's double Kayak and Gold in Women's singles. that's sooo not enough. even considering the World catching up - Canada used to be soo good at Canoe/Rowing/Kayak and I know this used to be a heavily funded event for us (the Disasters that was London/Rio might have impacted that a lot though). Per usual, Canada does really well in debut sports, (We win in Breaking woo lol). getting 30 medals would have been great had some of our 4th places converted but again. not fussing about that. they did their best, so I'm happy. I really hope this SoccerWNT issue gets dealt with. the entire thing was handled so poorly, and it washed onto the players unfairly. and the programme will suffer because of the cheating cheatersons that were the coaches. (and again. of all the teams to spy on, New Zealand? like seriously?). . Paris was lovely. the coverage was decent. GIVE ATTENTION TO EQUESTRIAN CBC and it was for the most part an enjoyable 16 days. Now bring on the Snow! -
because the IOC hates Ties. so even though they are tied - Ana beat Sabrina by start value i think.
-
it took Beckie Scott years to get her gold medal too. (She was a really harsh speaker about the rampant drugging in cross country skiing, and everyone basically told her to shut up and get over it. Both Russians who beat her got caught doping so she went from Bronze to Silver but had to wait longer for the gold medal. i was rewatching that. and it just. blows my mind. all of the apparatuses sucked. Floor was horrible, the bars were too dry, the vault we all know about, and the beam didn't have sufficient padding too. just horrible all around. thank you! :) the answer here i feel is a big fat nope.
-
this is where i own my naivety - i would hope that CAS did that in their investigation. because again. WHOLE big ole can of worms. (and that's a nother important question - my bet is nope in regards to money).
