Man, Canada is just doing... Canadian things at these Olympics. a lot of the defending athletes - didn't medal. but we got a bunch of medals in events we never had before - OR has been eons since we medaled. and of course we're still #4 hahaha. I get that we have snow and ice and all but it still kinda boggles my mind how we're not good at a lot of the traditional summer sports.

I looked at this and i was like.. what on earth is artistic swimming? then i realised it was SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING . hehehhehe honestly. synchro swimming is as much as a "hobby" as badminton, gymnastics, tennis, and track and field. as in, its a hobby until you decide you want to make this your entire life, dedicate yourself to it, and go pro (or hard core amateur and compete at the Olympics). i wouldn't watch gymnastics and go "that's a hobby not a sport." nor would i do it for this. it's a sport. (well technically speaking it's an event but it's still sporty).

honestly. I really don't take much out of this. they just swam 100m after a 9day programme for a lot of them. what could be considered iciness - could just be exhaustion, processing what happened, if they lost, trying not to have a major temper tantrum on national television. usually after the medals the swimmers take selfies etc, and who knows what we see after the cameras are put away. I'll have to be honest, I don't know how "Rah rah rah!! hug hug hug" i'd be if i were like an Olympic athlete. maybe it would depend on the event? or if i'm like super close etc to people. but again for me - my big thing is if i lost, i'd be doing everything in my power not to lose it in front of the world, and sometimes that takes more energy then remembering to hug or clap someone on the back for winning.

honestly i'd say not really. i just think a lot of the world has caught up - but i bet you in LA it's gonna be ALL about the USA mhhm.

my thing is this. the coach cheated but until we have proof that the people on the team saw all that footage. they didn't. they were victims in this.(or as i pointed out before, I will qualify this as someone who can actually claim they were sabotaged with a PED - like Andreea Raducaan. [well hers was a diuretic but still]. but i do get that. but i don't blame the girls for being pissed off for being lumped as cheaters when they didn't ask the coach to go send drones over other teams pitches. and i don't know (personally - me being a former athlete - not like Olympic level or anything). if my coach had a great gameplan for us if my first thought is going to be "how do you know so much?" you know what i mean?). the countries do have the right to be angry about the cheating, but i think the girls [until it's proven otherwise] have the right to be angry to be lumped in as cheaters. if that makes sense. but yeah. i was hoping that they'd at least medal. this is the first time they won't - but honestly they looked like hot garbage out there, and i think honestly - it makes sense because if it were me i'd be emotional spent after the first week.

and i'm assuming Kristina isn't high risk. TJ's a twit.

lol this is all true. (I didn't know she did all of that bit, they didn't show that on YT. they just saw the aftermath, and Ava calling scotty). I personally woulda shown concern and left everything as it was.

I honestly don't blame her for trying to get her lawyer on the phone and how to proceed in this. She saw what the town did to Nina. she doesn't wanna be crucified. lol (but seriously i think if she ran down and went omg, it was just an accident etc etc etc. people would misconstrue that as well, so making sure legally her Is were dotted and t's crossed was the best course of action)

I remember one winter olympics they didnt have like a TONNE - but they had a crap tonne of gold so they went through the gold route. but most times they go w/the most overall. honestly it doesn't matter to me how you want to present how the country is doing. most medals. cool. most golds. cool. let's go back to the events lol

Italy's Angela Carini abandoned her match 46 seconds in against Algeria's Imane Khelif. She (Carini) screamed that this was injust, and that she never been hit like that by any of her peers before. Khelif failed gender tests but was still allowed to compete and Khelif is on to the round of 16. Carni also said it's not up to her to say that this is illegal or anything but also added that she never was hit/felt pain like that before.

hmm. i am kinda bummed that Italy or that Algerian girl couldn't get onto the podium, and sort of bummed that Rebeca couldn't push past Simone (mostly because i'm kind of tired of the American Dynasty - and just being consistent because I was kinda over the Soviet/Russian one by the time that one cracked anyway LOL). I think overall I would have preferred Suni winning over Simone because i simply prefer her gymnastics over Simone's but congrats to Simone for winning.
