from everything i read - (and youtube) she just was suffering from injuries didn't really feel right and then withdrew. it was a shame it's so nuts. Canada suffered this in a lot of sports after the boon of the 2010 games. but it will swell up again. i know it. :)(I mean for Jamaica LOL)

i honestly wasn't sure if i wanted to add my two cents to this [again] - but here we are. as upsetting as this is, - for me - it's the rules. my thing would be is that these rules should be changed so everyone has the equal amount of time to file an inquiry. But my issue is - is the amount of inquiries in regards to start value was made during these Olympics. I honestly don't remember that many in Tokyo or in Rio. Why were so many made? The judges in gymnastics have access to instant replay, i'm assuming they are looking at it before they make their decisions so how do you constantly mess up the start value. This needs to be corrected before the next worlds, and def. before LA 28. The crux of this was - if the time had elapsed - the the petition should not have been accepted in the first place. That at the end of the day is where it is at. But from the rules -you have X minutes. At the end of the day that elapsed. and yes it was 4 seconds past. but it was 4 seconds. and considering that medals are are being decided by 1.100th of a point, and 1.100th of a second - to say that 4 seconds in an inquiry to determine a medal is petty doesn't make sense to me. [MY question is - how did people know it was elapsed. like there is a lot being not said here, and it leads to more questions.] However - if I am an athlete. (and I was one). I would want my federation to advocate for me to the best of its ability. That's what Romania did. [i'm not condoning the bullying and the drama about boycotting whatever that's just being baby and being a bully]. but the actual act of petitioning to ensure that everything was followed to the letter of the law to ensure that the right person won the Medal - i honestly do not see a problem here. [again. the actual advocating]. I'm really not understanding the pure vitriol in that regard - because I do believe if this was reverse, USAG would fully do the same thing to ensure Jordan was entitled to a medal that she earned [within the rules of that night]. Again the judges screwed up. and that's where my ire would be. I'm really sorry that Jordan and Ana got caught up in this it sucks total monkey. but I honestly don't think Romania is wrong here, whatsoever in regards to this. [again in regards to advocating for Ana. not for any of the drama-y bits]. in total agreement here. I think at this juncture - FIG screwed up. and the best course of action is bronze to both Ana and Jordan. again. I sort of see why they won't because it could open a big ole door of worms down the road but put procedures in place from now that it doesn't happen again - by ensuring you get it right after this. but this mistake cost Ana her moment - and soured Jordan's memories of a moment she thought she earned. the least you could do is give both of them something.

about time. he sucks

that was insane.

ah my mistake - mixing the two together. thanks for the correction!! :) yeah in one of the articles I read - USA Gymnastics is not happy in their official statement [which i do not blame them]. Romania wasn't happy which - I don't blame them. people are human and everything but i just... i don't understand how you let this happen - and honestly i agree with you. while the answer would be "More medals." that could pretty much open a door they don't wanna open. unlike diving (which is live/in the moment judging) doesn't gymnastics have access to instant replay? legit do not understand how they seriously messed this up so badly. as they should. that was a mistake. - but that happens in sports.
-
but unless i am missing something else. Romania did not petition the error that Ana was dinged for. (using your referee analogy). which you would be right to get upset about (as would i). because like i said. missed calls happen all the time and you shoulda been on it if you thought you had something. They petitioned through CAS about Jordan's inquiry. that's not subjective and from what i've read that's not something you can do on the floor - you have to go through CAS). And the reason why it was tossed out was because Jordan's coach was too late in filing in her inquiry. so my thing here is - why was it accepted in the first place. Jordan's coach wasn't wrong in doing it [in several articles i've read she said it was a hail mary]. Romania isn't wrong in being mad and protesting the change and they did what they had the right to do. What went wrong was the judging. How do you eff up 0.1 in either direction - how do you not know the inquiry was late and why did you accept that. That's where my anger would be directed that. it's on them to get it right - and it's on them to speak out and say how they screwed up. I know they stopped doing ties in gymnastics - but like in this case the best course of action is to give Jordan and Ana bronzes because both federations did what they did - the girls did what they did. and the judges royally pooped the bed here. that's on them. if i am wrong and Romania also petitioned Ana's deduction I will stand corrected and be a bit more upset about Romania's actions here but if this is just about Jordan inquiry then Romania is in the right holy moses. that's.. wow. this is just getting more and more bonkers. this right here. and a lot more transparency when they eff it up.

LOL the US Women legit could have walked that race they were so ahead.

Canada Wins Gold! to be honest. i didn't even need them to explain why - he was REALLY that much better in the final round than France. but it would have been nice to hear why over them both geeking out lol
-
big same. i am so lost. no idea why people are winning/not winning. one guy is basically making things up as he goes on so it's like "there's no name to it!". the USA Guy [Victor]. got upset by France - no real explanation to why that's an upset just. lost as enjoyable as this is.

As Ethan can attest to.

i tried researching but i just keep getting what happened last week, and what is happening now. my best guess is 1 minute from when the score is posted. {because how can you appeal your score if you don't know what your score is right?} here is my two cents. Jordan Chiles's coach has every right to file the appeal to see if Jordan's score was undervalued. (and the judges thought it was). my question is [even taking in human error] - how do you make that mistake? we've had several of those errors during these games and I am like if an athlete filed their programme, you know what the start value is, and you lower it if they miss connections or something egregious. so if you're changing it. what was wrong? (I think this being explained - would make a lot of sense and a bit more transparency). Like I want to know where the 0.1 was missed the first time that made them think they needed to add it in. that's where i would be more upset at - and again this has happened a LOT at this Olympics. I'd also argue. you need a bit more time than 1 minute to figure out if this is a path you need to take because not only do you have to be right your actions are impacting other athletes placements. because of this mistake - 1 girl thought she won - and then she lost. then another girl thought she hadn't - and then she won - and now it's being reversed again. that's on the judging. [and again. that's still accounting for human error etc]. However - I feel that Romania obviously felt this was in violation of something [apparently the time limit] and they have the right to file an appeal. I don't think it's petty or bs to fight for a medal you think you've won. they advocated for themselves as they should and the CAS obviously thought there was something to it because they changed it. I just feel bad for both the girls who had to go through this rigamarole.

Canada loses gold by 1.100th of a second. but we love silver too, Marco!!!
-
the thing is - (and i do get what you are saying) everything is sport - even if we see something as a hobby. like i said in the artistic swimming page - i've been watching the Olympics for 32 years (my goodness am I OLD) - and I still can't wrap my head around the fact that ping pong is an Olympic event. PING PONG. (well "table tennis" but seriously. it's ping pong LOL) or badminton or a lot of other things. (like. for me personally, I could see this as more of an Olympic event than like Sailing). so it's understandable to go. really? but once you are at the Olympic level (because there's an actual federation, world cups, Pan American/Oceanic/so on and so forth championships) - it stops being "hobby." - I never really apply that to anything at the Olympics myself. Because the [hobby] that we used to is no where near close to the Olympic feats these people are doing. that's just my two pennies anyway.

I don't know what happened with the Japanese athlete (who was wearing a black shirt) but the crowd was pissed. I will also say - an event like this needs to have a strong colour person and then have the analyst be all Ooho Oooh. - if anyone saw my reaction in the Judo contest as cool as it was - i really had no idea what was going on and the play by play person got so wrapped up in the event they didn't really break it down either (which sometimes is fine. get caught up in it) but at the same time - we kinda need to know what's going on! LOL honestly with the Docket as full as it is and a lot of other things struggling to get back on [Baseball/Softball], wanting to get in [American Football], etc - i can really see this being a one and done event.
-
i am watching this. and i have no idea what's going on LMAO. CBC commentators are like just enjoying it and is like OH YAH!! this is great!!! and oh right that was good execution hahaha. but they look they are enjoying themselves so right on

Canada wins GOLD record setting 8th - and hit 25 medals in Women's Canoe Sprint. i love canoe sprint but most of these were i was sleeping. Katie Vincent [who already won bronze with her partner - a photo finish upset that they weren't really too pleased about] wins gold... due to photo finish LOL that must have been a helll yah moment for sure.

I am also going to add this to the pile. Carly can not go to jail. [according to Sonny]. because Donna needs her mother. Sonny is though going to take full custody again from Ava because he doesn't like her, screw Avery. Kristina is screaming "TAKE OUT AVA SHE TOOK MY BABY." (i'm acknowledging her hurt). Ava is in jail, Sonny says she can stay there she's never going to get out - but we're not going to acknowledge that Avery who loves her mother very much has to deal with her mom in jail, and you're OBVIOUSLY considering taking her out, Sonny since Alexis is like "you really can not do this for Kristina's sake." (not going to hold Alexis for not mentioning Avery that's not her concern) - but it SHOULD be Sonny's. and EVERYONE knows how much Avery and losing Kiki meant to Ava - so regardless of anything on this planet - there is no way anyone should be thinking Ava would have done this intentionally.
-
i have a feeling this was said yes to - because it's very prevalent in France. it's the same why Tokyo had Baseball/Softball back on the Olympic Programme (because baseball is huge there). but it's not in France as most countries refuse to build a stadium) - but i think it's back on the Docket for LA/Brisbane [so i have a big feeling if they went to a country where ballroom/latin dancing was MASSIVE they'd allow it then]
-
i have to wonder what he means by "a system not set up to help USA do well." like... what system do you need, Carl? (ah he's speaking at the USA Track team specifically) - i guess, but i still don't get what system he wants? like. to me a lot of the mistakes are legit brain farts than anything else
-
See if this was a different show - i would believe she doesn't remember the actual fall - and someone said Ava pushed her so she's parroting it and it will come out to light. but I have a feeling this is going to be a "Nina knew for like a year!" when she only knew for less than that situation in regards to Sonny being Mike. Yipeee. eyeroll
-
that's the one i don't get. Chris gets fired. then you bring him back. like why? there's a reason why you fired him lol like come on now.
-
I doubt it. I just don't see Laura staying as mayor (and defending herself to the people who wanted her thrown from office) if she knew she didn't earn it on her own merit. but i mean who knows at this point. yeeupp
-
no i get it. and honestly if it was Kristina to anyone else - like if she was saying this to Alexis even I could just be able to see it as grief and pain and trauma and she wants it all out. but it's to Sonny. and it's on the show because it just takes me right out of it. having Sonny mumble Ava will pay for what she's done legit makes my sympathy evaporate here and that's not even Kristina's fault. (and i did see the Alexis/Sonny Convo - that was really good by Alexis telling her if Sonny actually does that, when Kristina is back to normal that would be a black mark on her soul). and it is kind of hypocritical (like i said) but again I get it's coming from grief so i can get it - it's just ironic how ALL of Sonny's kids (minus dante, but +1 modifer in joss) always want Sonny to get down and dirty when it benefits them. but as i said - because it's Sonny, and Sonny is like yasss the BENSONHURST WILL RISE AGAIN!!! all mobby and Ava will suffer - and it just makes me remember. I remember Edward shouting at Sonny how many more of his family was he going to take away from him, and Sonny choking Edward out because he didn't like what he heard. Monica screaming that there was no one else for Jason to get because they were all dead because of Jason & Sonny's actions. And Kristina is saying this to someone she knows is not listening to this and being "poor lamb, she'll pay." in a "she'll rot in jail kind of way." she's saying this to someone is is saying "poor lamb she'll pay, and I'll make it happen, just give me time." sort of way and grief or not that is just a no go for me. that's basically all I mean. like the show took me right out of something that could be so real - Kristina wants someone to suffer because she's suffering. that's a normal human reaction and i'd usually be there for it. But she's saying it to someone who caused more people to suffer who never even paid for 1 iota for it. He's supposed to be the hero even in all of this - and it just stops me from being in the scene or in the moment becuse if someone had been able to take out Sonny or keep his "claustrophobic behind" in jail, then a lot of people wouldn't have gone through similar pain of loss and pain that Kristina is going through and I don't think that's the feeling the show wanted me to have. pretty much this. it's. "I got hurt, so you murder them, and life is good." then the reprisal comes and someone else gets JUST as a hurt, rinse repeat. I saw in a different clip that Kristina is asking herself why did she go there, and I get she's still mad at Ava - but she's not saying to anyone that Ava did not push her. and I understand and get that Ava probably shouldn't have grabbed her arm or anything - be pissed all you want, want revenge all you want - but at least acknowledge that you weren't pushed please.

Canadian gold medal favourite fouled out in Shot put.

you know when you have Kristina going to Sonny, listing the laundry list of crap Ava did to Sonny's family and Ava must pay. im sorry show if the response is supposed. to go YAS SONNY GET AVA. Because there's an equally long laundry list going through my head about the crimes that Sonny and Carly did to the Quartermaines. Kristina's whole why wont you do something, Ava is living life while she should pay. like. ya know. yeah. that would be nice. and the whole "She killed Connie and didn't pay!!" Sonny barely paid for killing AJ. So. no. I'm sorry, you want justice, you're mad. whatever. but shut up Kristina. because the man you are talking to has caused a whole lot more grief to a whole lot more people and took a lot more children away from people. Also it gets so tiring about the whole "Dad i hate your way of life." something bad happens. "Dad, I need you to go all mob mafia on someone" Willow and Drew are so thirsty for each other lol. Nina is such a puppy dog. Michael. you could try to look a little less constipated.
