  1. i see. I don't see it like that. because i mean. when liz had her big money struggle storyline, she was marrying Lucky - who was equally struggling. (i remember their first apartment with little squish face Cam and everything) I don't think Chase would have the same issues as Liz would have. (for starters he was single, where as Liz had kids. Same with Maxie). I don't see Liz (or Maxie) not doing anything for themselves, they are doing a lot. (including not really taking help when it would be beneficial) maybe a part of it is because for the most part women do tend to struggle financially more than men do. We make less money (On average). in this day and age women are choosing to be single mothers. (thus more financial burden). so I think to me it's good that they do show women in these situations - small social issues - with a touch of realism. I really wouldn't expect a mother of two to go off and play high stakes poker to try to get a windfall. (and regardless if they won or loss that's a big chicken gamble right there). Where as it makes sense that a former millionaire playboy would because he has nothing to lose. I am pretty sure Chase was also working as a private security guard (he just hated it) which also makes a good chunk of change (as much as a detective probably not) - and again. he was independent. (where as the women are not) i think the fact that Liz managed to do so much while basically having crappy relationships (same with maxie), never really having to depend and never really being "super" wealthy (Liz at all) and whatever Peter had obviously isn't in play but still showing you can be head of your department and run a business (and also showing that it doesn't poof your financial issues away is great). i really don't see it as a detriment. but thanks for clarifying :)
  2. but you can be steadily employed, not dependent on a man's money and still struggle? (i will admit maybe i am not understanding your meaning but that is a realistic message to me?)
  3. yeah. like you usually can ignore the rich drama fluffness because there is often some real life struggles going on. it really SHOULDN'T be maxie. (honestly Chase & BLQ and WIllow and Michael should be arguing a lot about the clear class differences between them. Michael/BLQ grew up affluent. it's one thing to "like vintage" but it's another to NEEDING to buy vintage. if you get my meaning).
  4. honestly, it kinda makes sense that Maxie is in debt. you don't have to be all super fancy with the kids etc - but it all adds up. and honestly it's the sundry things that get you more than the BIG stuff. all the hair/nail appointments. the coffees, going out to dinner etc. what they should have done was basically make it that Maxie had shares in Aurora and she lost it all when the insider trading hit.
  5. the perfect time to redeem Esme or well just make her very shades of gray was twice. Someone pointed out that what Esme did with the recording was basically 2020 version of Brenda taking naked pictures of Karen and showing them around school and yet Brenda became very beloved. it was right after Laura told her to just stop being a cow. and she went to go apologize (I firmly believe that was legitimate) Trina accepted but Joss was the cow right back to her and flung Spencer's crush in Esme's face. i would have kept the recording but again have her have a flash of conscience when Cam was being nice to her and then have Adam or whoever leak the video. then you have the whole "who did it". vs Esme struggling to confess what she did becuse she was falling for Cam, and everything. kinda scuzzy, relatively redeemable, sets up 'soapiness' throught the years with Joss/Her/Trina, and not completely psycho (and no need for Ace, as cute as he is). but they doubled down on her being crappy, and i just feel that's a waste of a talented younger actress
  6. Before and after Ned said that the merger didn't make a lot of sense. they're so stupid But they didn't apologize because why apologize when you're a Carly.
  7. it's so great that the death of her mother made Carly reflect about the important things in life.
  8. it's printed (i can't remember if there was a digital version). but it's the reason why she didn't want to buy it from Drew. the print medium is dying (which is sad actually), and it would be a waste of money. honestly. Nina starting a new magazine would be meaningless. this woman needs to just get some ice cream and get fat. ignore everyone
  9. to the 2nd - yes he should have and then let her go have kids with someone who actually treated her well. To the 1st that is such a load of bull, and the thing is even if he felt that - that just proves me point before. Sonny came home and he didn't even fight for her. so like legit what's the point?. they don't have that chemistry, Jason as a character will NEVER fight for Carly, it's not even the draw of the will they/won't they of Jackson/Erica so like what's the point.
  10. this week's offering: gingerbread blondies here on La Barge. honestly. my hope of hope is that she did it to screw Nina - but she has some sense in her pea brain of hers that she can not run an international magazine. (they did have people flat out tell Nina how much she sucked for buying Carly's hotel, so it would be nice to see some of that Loyalty to Nina but.. its not gonna happen)
  11. and this is why i don't watch the show anymore. but i like chatting with you so i ask questions so i still rage on with y'all lol I always love that circular Nina argument Nina is selfish and only thinks about herself ---> does something that benefits EVERYONE but herself ---> Nina only liked being a victim/martyr.
  12. Okay.first of all Drew sucks. Second of all... doesn't Nina own some part of Crimson? I feel she did (not all of it like i explained but like some?) Third of all...Drew is back running the company that he committed insider trading and put his co-conspirator in charge? like. do you think the SEC (or stockholders or anything) wouldn't go. "hey um. what, no." like if you don't know this writers just go ask someone..
  13. wait. what happened with the employees? and of course Drew did this. this my thing. Nina can never win. If she didn't - she'd be heartless because she didnt think of them, and now that she does it she's the victim. the reason why she didn't buy Crimson (when Drew was trying to buy the hotel for Carly), was because she pointed out print media was dying and she was doing all she could to keep turning profits for Crimson but no one worth their salt would buy print right now. (which is true.).
  14. I can not even even with this. I hope Crimson tanks. legitimately.
  15. what it is, is, Ned at the end of the day see Michael as family, and as such he doesn't really want to rock the boat. that's why when Tracy laughed and said she gives zero poops about him. She'll be "whatever, nice Quatermaining" because she always appreciates a good Quatermaining (when it's not directed at her). but as a person? That was what she was stressing to Ned about what family was. to her it's Ned, Dillion, BLQ and Leo. [notice she didn't include Olivia in there either] and that Ned needed to get his head into the game because Michael does not care about the Q's (or Ned). unless it suits his purpose. honestly this is why I truly wish AJ had another kid out there who is utter Quatermaine because so many of the remaining Q's treat Michael as the long lost prodigal and Michael imo realises that and uses that to get his way on things that if it were someone raised in the family they'd be slammed for.
  16. There is a debate on this on reddit how no one takes into account Nina's mental health and everything that led into a coma and people keep flinging out "it's not an excuse." and I hate that line so much. It's no an excuse but it's a reality. Nina's entire being is wrapped up in everyone betraying her heinously, keeping life altering secrets from her and then missing 20+ years of her life. She's admitted constantly that's she's stunted in a lot of ways developmentally. People just feel that she needs a week of sessions with kevin and she's cured - and that "owning her actions" would make it better, and I'm like no. She's always going to stumble. She'll probably not react as often as she does the way she does, but the buttons pushed at the right time triggers her "lash out childish" behaviour. Everyone throws her mental illness and all her losses in her face, she has like 3 friends total on the show who are almost always NEVER around when people gang up on her constantly. one family member is never around and the second one mostly always takes Carly's side anyway. it's pathetic well that should earn him father of the year, eh?
  17. you know. I can see it. Michael was all "OMG my Daddy doesn't love my Mommy anymore, so I am just going to hang out with you , Drew, as long as you tell me how amazing and special I am." which Drew accomplished they were all conspiring to take over ELQ from Ned and I don't remember him telling Drew that he actually can stomach Sonny now. So yeah Drew thinking he is in higher standing than Sonny makes sense since he's stupid and everything
  18. the first time was 100 percent out of the goodness of her heart. she wanted to bury the hatchet and just put everything behind them and so she bought the hotel to give it back to Carly. Carly said she wanted nothing from Nina, and knowing that Willow was Nina's daughter at the time, said to her "Well i have my family, and that's all i need." and walked off with Drew. yeuppers. That one cracked me up too. and then Olivia got pissy and kept saying "what's your number" to buy out Nina and by that point Nina said if Carly didn't want it, she was going to give to to Wiley and she was gonna make it shine for him.
  19. no she loves her grandchildren too much for that. so split three ways. honestly. the fact that she tried to give Carly her hotel back should have been enough. (because i would never have done that). and then on top of that the fact that she said she was going to make into an inheritance for Wiley that was independent of the craziness of the Q stock shifting and Corinthos mob drama should have been indicative that she DOES care about her grandchild but nope. If she did something - hand to heart one of those dipsticks would say its so that Nina would get an in with them again
  20. MIchael handed over his proxy? to whom? why? I have to say - there really becomes a point where you naturally just stop listening because you're getting yelled at all the time, nod your head and say, "okay fine." and walk off. that should be Nina's moment. stop defending, stop listening, walk off, and just let her be a judgemental cow. it's not worth it.
  21. i bet it reeked of "So go yell at him, for a change"
  22. let me have this, eh? lol i don't think he'll be too happy that Michael was planning on sending him to jail for like ever.
  23. that would be awesome but i doubt it. though..... according to the weekly trailer somebody's in troouuubbleeeeeee.
