  1. The house and grounds look like Longbourn in the 1995 Pride and Predjudice.
  2. I have been thinking that Sister was asking whether Joyce had faced an unusual number of prejudiced patients or an unusual number of them in a specific period. I'd like to think that, anyway. This show is not so naive as that question as presented was. And they should realize after 14 seasons that we would notice the absurdity of the question.
  3. Vanessa Redgrave sounds much less frail this season.
  4. I was struck by the size of Cromwell’s household.
  5. It’s above her knees, likely even without the wind! 😱 JB is her headship, isn’t he?
  6. So, so sad. It was very affecting.
  7. I do, too. The origami nuns were the bomb! Can anyone place her accent? At first I thought she was American, but after a while I could tell she’s not.
  8. They were/are "the choir nuns" who do not have a secular vocation but instead sing the daily office.
  9. I wonder if something like this happened in the cut scenes.
  10. We had that, too, on a trivet that hung in the kitchen.
  11. There were black people at court in Tudor England.
  12. There is not.
  13. I am not up on Amy and her family. Is Dax his real name???
  14. I hate to ask, but what is the Plotz Plot, and why would Janelle leave something there?
  15. How old were they when they were married?
  16. At first — ? Ohhhh … Yeah!
  17. They would never give a child the name of an alcoholic beverage!
  18. He might have been there as part of his training or before his deployment to the Continent.
  19. Patrick was born in 1909 and Sheilagh in 1926.
  20. We might see Granny Parker (or is it Carter?) and Tim’s mother. Tim was born in 1949 or so.
  21. I imagine it was after his war recuperation.
  22. This was a bit tedious. The anvil slammed hard for Cyril and Rosalind. But one slammed last year for Cyril and Joyce. I hate to say it, but I think the show should wrap. I agree Sheilagh is a sadly diminished character. Patrick indeed is looking older. He’s a good bit older than she is. The character Avril mentioned it disparagingly in an earlier season episode featuring the unwed mother’s home. Something said in the earlier seasons indicated Patrick would have been born during or before World War I. Sheilagh entered the order during the second war, per Sister Evangelina’s mention of the utility shoes she and Sister Julienne saw in Sister Bernadette’s suitcase as they were going through the property to be returned upon leaving the order. She was probably in her early 20s if not younger when she entered.
