Barry dude, if you're going to break into someone's house, at least wear a mask or something. I actually surprisingly found the relationship between DaVoe and his wife, kind of sweet. It seems like they genuinely care for each other (despite both being rather messed up in the head). I'm mixed on the "Team Flash doesn't believe Barry" thing. One the one hand, perhaps the show went a bit too far with it. But on the other hand, Barry does have a tendency to go off half-cocked when he gets obsessed with something, and bad things tend to happen as a result. So I get the IDEA behind it at least. It was cool seeing Wells-Thawne cameo again, and his meeting with DaVoe was delightful. Did they seriously just say that Wally took on Starro by himself, offscreen?

I really don't like how they handled the Alex/Maggie breakup. So Alex, who the show never bothered to mention even wanting kids AT ALL before a couple of episodes ago, is now so in desperate need to have them that her fiancée not wanting them is enough to make her go "nope, this isn't going to work out?" Well you can tell that that was not planned out, because it comes across as really contrived. The writers continuing to insist that Lena doesn't know that Kara is Supergirl, continues to be ridiculous. Sorry, not buying it at all.

She's Superman's Cousin!: And Other Supergirl Spoilers
Bats27 replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in Supergirl
She looks pretty much nothing like Reign. I mean I'm fine with them giving her a more practical outfit than the TINY top that she has in the comics (which always looked stupid to me anyway). But could she at least have the grey skin and red hair please? -
Alex's super-love of children feels like it came out of nowhere this season. I mean here was a woman who didn't even seem all that interested in dating until Maggie came along. And now we're meant to buy that this is so important to her, that she and Maggie, who overcome multiple challenges last year in their relationship, cannot stay together if Maggie doesn't want kids? Really? It feels like a really blatant writing contrivance to break them up honestly.

The Wally/Jessie thing was REALLY bad. Seriously show, not only have you undercut a pretty cute relationship constantly. But you had her break up with him via a Dear John hologram, which makes her look awful. This was bullcrap when freaking Power Rangers did it with Tommy/Kimberly. But then again you've been crapping on Wally all season, so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised about this.

Is it just me or have they been giving Caitlin less "buttoned up" outfits to wear this season?
-
The way that things are going, probably not. Soon, she'll be showing up every week to bang Sara instead.

Cisco and Gypsy, finally. And her in that dress, WOW just WOW!! Don't screw it up Cisco.

Cisco and Gypsy, finally. And her in that dress, WOW just WOW!! Don't screw it up Cisco. The Caitlin stuff continues to be tedious. The couples therapy was, a mixed bag. Wally being used as nothing more than a glorified punching bag is disappointing. The Thinker seems like a potentially cool villain. All in all, ok episode.

Can we just let Caitlin control her powers and be an anti-hero already? This "she cannot control her powers" plot has gotten really old by this point. Other than that, it was a decent premiere. Wally speaking Japanese was hilarious.

I have no sympathy for Randall whatsoever. He got what he deserved. He was so quick to betray Olenna in order to work with the madwoman who killed his lord and said lord's entire family. Then helped to sack Highgarden and plunder The Reach of all of it's food/resources, and is a a-hole to his own soldiers and other son to boot. So why would I have a problem with what Dany did here? She gave him a choice, heck she even seemed open to the idea of him donning the black, and he made his decision crystal clear. Well you reap what you sow Randall. As for Dickton, yeah it sucked what happened to him. He seemed like an ok guy, if a bit stupid. The Winterfell stuff had better not lead to a Sansa heel turn. That'd be ridiculous. Ah poor Jamie, still cannot see the obvious when it's right in front of your face. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but marriages here cannot be annulled if there's children right? So how could Rhaegar (who had children with Elia Martell) annul his marriage to her? Dany so totally wants Jon, it's obvious at this point. I guess women love the handsome broody ones.

The French WON the Hundred Year's War, and drove the English out of all of France except for Calais. And then throughout the next few hundred years, they established themselves as one of the dominant powers Europe. Look up commanders like Maurice de Saxe, Louis the Grande Conde, The Vicomte of Turenne, etc. This notion that France only became a great military power once Napoleon came along, is simply wrong. They Tyrell's lost, because the writers realized that they'd given Dany all of the advantages, needed to make Cersei seem like she even has a chance of winning, and couldn't think of a logical way to show that. so they just ignored logic, just like how they ignored logic to let Euron ambush Theon on Yara, even though that made no sense in context. They have a habit of making their heroes look stupid just to make the bad guys look better, and this season has really gone all in on that.

Honestly Dany probably didn't even need her dragon. The terrain, plus the layout of the Lannister formations, both played right into the Dothraki style of fighting. They would have broken through even without Drogon (that just made it easier). There's a reason why the Mongols (whom the Dothraki are clearly based on) were nigh unbeatable in battle (even against armored knights) on the open plains/fields.

-Hopefully Caitlin gets to be more anti-heroish next season (given that comic book Caitlin is tat way and part of Batman's new JL team, it'd fit). -Hopefully Iris gets a story that gives her some actual agency of her own (and not just at the very end as a desperate way to salvage things). Do more with the reporter thing, or make her a cop like her dad, or have her run for office, whatever just something. -Hopefully Gypsy sticks around more and we get to see her and Cisco's dynamic develop. -Hopefully we see more of Jesse and they stop they stop writing her in and out of the show at random. -Hopefully the show isn't a depressing slog to get through next next season.

Eh I'd prefer that they do it a bit too fast than to drag it out for so long that you stop caring, like most shows tend to. Also maybe they'll actually show that marriage isn't the end and that even married couples face challenges and need to work on their relationship. That'd be refreshing on TV.
-
Plus from what I've heard from from them, they seem aware of the "dead lesbian" trope (and they have to know about the blowback on The 100 for what it did with Clarke/Lexa, especially since it's own the same network). And they've subverted my expectations several times by NOT going the cliché route with these two, AND they have to know that they'd get a lot of good press if they went all the way with this, etc. I'm not saying that there won't be any DRRAAAMMAAA (it's CW, of course there will be). But I actually think that there's a good chance that we get an Alex/Maggie wedding next season.

Yeah Caitlin's out being cartoonishly evil for, reasons, and Julian just decides to skedaddle for, reasons?
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again, all of the CW shows have issues writing female characters to one degree or another. But this show, is by far the worst. And how they've handled both Iris and Caitlin this season is proof positive of this. How about at least letting them have a little bit of agency in what's supposed to be their arcs, is that too much to ask showrunners?

To be fair, Trump makes it so easy to mock him pretty much every time that he opens his mouth. And everytime someone does so, I smile. I honestly don't care about the writing flaws this time around. It was entertaining, so I can overlook them. So Kara "loves" Lena and Mon-el. You know show, you want to be "progressive," a three-way polyamorous relationship is very rarely done on TV these days. Just a thought.

No, no you are not, wowzer! Also I'll give Daxam this much, they make great-looking space dresses.

Rhea & Cat trading verbal barbs was amazing. If there was ever a 'feminist' episode, this was it. The Cat Grant "presidential" message to National City & to "Tiara Woman", poking fun at Trump ("Promising to make our world great again", empty promises), Alex being awesome, and the overall message of "Resist", was well done, and right on the nose.. And Lena in that red dress though! Thanks James It's Guardian Oh Honey, I can see your eyes right through the slit ... next time, lose the mask & try wearing glasses Also I'm glad that President Wonder Woman isn't a villain after all.

I don't really consider what Robert did in the life-boat to be "cold-blooded murder." Because I don't buy for a second that he'd do that in a different situation. Heck the whole reason why they were there in the first place was because Robert found out that Malcolm had decided to just kill everybody, wanted to try and stop it and confided in a person he thought he could trust, and then that person sold him out to Malcolm. Now can you argue that what he did was wrong, oh yes. But I see it much more as a last desperate act by a man who thought that he had no other choice in order to give his son, whom he clearly loved, a better chance at survival (which is why he then shot HIMSELF as well).

I think that the tragedy behind Ophelia's character is that she wanted to a "good human." at how she reacted when she saved Mack. And, with enough time and the right guidance, maybe she could be. But she's not getting either right now. And yeah, poor Fitz really needs to learn how to let a girl down easy. That was NOT the right way to handle that particular situation.
-
The show has done this before. In Season 2, Slade seemed to know/be able to do whatever the plot needed him to at that particular time. He knew things that logically he shouldn't have known, and the show never bothered to explain how he found out about them.

Did anyone else that one Iris moment kinda icky!? She says to Barry that the moment she truly fell in love with him (developed sexual feelings?) was when he was crying over his dead mother as a small boy and she hugs him to make him feel better. Also the "I'm your brother" joke between Barry and Wally, while funny, does bring up how the show has made Barry/Iris unnecessarily "awkward" for many people.
