This worked! Thank you.

I’ve ignored a user before - a couple of years ago. However, I could not find the option again. Someone explained that I need to hover over the name, but I guess I don’t know how to hover, LOL. I end up being taken to their profile page. Still can’t an get ignore option.
-
Can someone please help me with the ignore feature? Why isn’t it easier to use? While I found this to be one of my favorite seasons of Top Chef, it saddens me that the show can’t escape the same divisions that have seeped into all aspects of life now.

Beyond the Wall: The Culture of The Handmaid's Tale

This has likely been answered here, but I can’t find it. Does the book address what happens when a Wife is widowed. Are Wives with children allowed to stay with their kids? -
Are you saying that June had no choice but to stay? Because as I recall she did not perform. Walked away of her own free will and no one came after her because of it.

The way that some keep referring to Steven as a rapist is really starting to bother me. I feel it undermines the definition of rape by redefining it as any sex that is unwanted - whether consensual or not. Rape requires that the sex is non-consensual. While Steven is an asshole, it does not rise to the level of non-consent. June initially consented and then changed her mind. There was no coercion to force her to perform. While the consequence of leaving might be unpleasant, ultimately they left anyway so it was always an option they were willing to take. Most certainly when Janine voluntarily went back to Steven to perform the act, again it was a choice. Rape victims are robbed of choice - either by force, extreme coercion or physical incapacitation. Let’s not diminish their trauma.

I’ve just started S4 so I am catching up on comments. We learn one of the lower commanders did impregnate his wife in S3. It was impressive enough that Waterford said he would surely be in line for a promotion. So not all wives are infertile.

Curious if you feel the same way when they require chefs that are vegan or vegetarian to prepare meat dishes.

Why don’t you maybe wait until the finale before declaring a fix?

Agree. Too much hand wringing over missing components. If this competition was based on points and 9 judges got a dish with all the components and loved it and one judge didn’t get that component and still liked the dish, we wouldn’t even entertain this line of thought. The winner would be the one with the most points. The chefs should be judged on two things: Did they meet the requirements of the challenge? Does the dish taste good? This isn’t “Top Expeditor.” If leaving off an element causes the dish to suffer, as is often the case, then the chef would go home because the food is not good.

It’s a stereotype that many black people, like myself, wish would die a slow death.

I think there was also an acknowledgement that but for the cut, Dawn may have come out on top in the second round.
-
I agree. I hope they keep this format. Because they didn’t have to grind out 100 dishes, they had more time to focus on the food. I liked seeing them taste each other’s dishes and give feedback. We don’t get that when their scrambling to plate dishes.

I find pasta quite filling. I’m often sleepy after a pasta meal. Having said that, I wish there was less chicken served.

Million Dollar Listing NY - General Discussion

I thought this as well, but there was no Christmas decor anywhere. If it was late December or even early January, you still will see wreaths and trees up. -
Although I don’t dislike her as much as you, I can get behind all of this except her being obese. She may be a few pounds overweight, but she is certainly not obese. I would estimate her to be a size 14.

I’ve decided Brooks has to be pulling a Paris Hilton. I refuse to believe that is his real voice. I can’t listen to him. I have to mute when he starts to speak. However, I can still tell he’s an asshole via closed-captioning. -
Not impressed with this season thus far. This group seems like the leftover queens that did not quite make the cut in prior seasons.

I actually think this is a good picture of Maddie. I don’t find her to be very attractive.
-
I don’t know why, but it makes her look dumb so I love it.

I confess I occasionally check on Nene’s tweets because I love seeing her implode. It really is a glorious self take-down. Now, she’s saying if she can’t work, Andy can’t work. What’s preventing her from working except her nasty attitude? Also, every time she discusses an OG being fired, she conveniently omits Vicki G. Vicki is the OG of OGs and was fired. She could rightly argue there would have been no RHOA without the success of RHOC, which Vicki put on the map, But Nene out here acting like the franchise did not exist before her. Girl bye!

This makes it sound like anyone that wants to go to college can afford to go - there’s always a way. That is simply not true. Many people still go who can’t afford it. I have a friend that is in her 40s and still paying on her student loan from an art school. My parents could not send us all to college. I fortunately received an academic scholarship and left to go to an out-of-state school. My sister went to school locally while still applying for scholarships to other schools. Eventually, she received one. Why does there have to be something more to it?

RHoP In The Media: What's Going Down in the DMV
laprin replied to a topic in The Real Housewives Of Potomac
I don’t know of any TV shows that pay a flat salary. All shows are per episode. That’s why you hear about the main cast of The Big Bang Theory getting $1 mil per episode. When you are demoted to friend status you are in less episodes. When Nene was on Tamron Hall’s show she said her salary was not cut. Tamron then asked her to clarify since clearly she was not happy with the contract. She said the number of episodes were cut. -
Season Three: Speculation for The Mandalorian
laprin replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Mandalorian
I’m pretty sure the backlash will rival the GoT finale. But unlike HBO, there is little else keeping me tied to being a Disney+ subscriber. They will lose tons of subscribers and will deserve it. I will personally root for their failure. Also, what would be the point of the Armorer making Mando’s sigil a Clan of Two? I thought that had significance. -
Before this season, I liked Monique but found her pretty boring. I can’t think of any season where she really brought anything to the show other than this one. I find the scenes of her at home boring and the way Chris speaks to her kind of skeeves me out. He seems controlling and the type that demands sex all the time. I don’t find that adorable.
