The writers also made it all about Regina by having her bring Emma’s baby blanket instead of Snow, she should have brought it, or Hook since he was the last to see her box of things.

So much irritates me about this episode. I hate Regina using the dagger on Emma repeatedly and her obvious joy at being able to control her. I hate the guilt trip Regina uses to get Emma to use dark magic to save Robin. I hate the whole Regina is the savior nonsense. Mostly I hate the entire scene before the ball where Regina pretends to not know how to dance for attention because there is no way someone raised as she was by Cora wouldn’t have had hundreds of hours of dance lessons. I think this is where I truly started to hate the way Regina was written.

I hate the fact they put in an Emma flashback to little Emma and it was so useless and pointless.

I expected all those things too and was bitterly disappointed. It’s obvious the show runners fell in love with their character and wanted her to have every good thing. So much similarity to Lana Lang in Smallville, she got all the things.

Yeah, that plot did Emma no favors and wasn’t in character for either of them, nor was killing David’s father very piraty, rescuing an enemy of the king does though. They should have had Hook rescue him then kill him when he slips about selling his son.

@KAOS Agent I can think of an episode that made me feel for a new character, but not the character they intended me to feel for. The Crocodile, I felt bad for Hook by the end. I know the writing said I should feel for Rumple but I didn’t. I empathized with Milah’s desire to get away but I would have appreciated her more if she’d taken her son of course, I could never make that choice, but I totally get her options were extremely limited by society and the age.

I can’t help but roll my eyes when these characters proclaim themselves heroes. It’s like humility, if you have to proclaim yourself humble you aren’t.

Like every child everywhere. Stupidest plot ever. “Charming we’ve made a terrible mistake” I love how Snow always starts this nonsense and always shares the blame with David. the more I watch this show the more I dislike Snow, if she calls herself a hero one more time...

Finally catching up. I enjoed this episode. It’s always nice to see Ariel slapping Hook again. I enjoyed seeing emilie almost blowing the scene where will comments on the size of Hook’s ship. The part about happy endings was sweet at the end.

Where is my eye rolling emoji... 🙄 yeah, that.

It would have been more interesting if Blue was the Black fairy in disguise and had taken her place centuries prior and was pulling the strings behind the scenes. She gave the first bean to Baelfire after all. She could have even given a bean to the spinsters for Rumple all those years before. Perhaps she saw Rumple interfering with her plans. The real Blue fairy could have shown up after escaping in the nick of time and given Emma some advice that helps her defeat the Black fairy. Perhaps she was in the land of untold stories or in the wish realm.

Boring episode. I see no reason to ever rewatch it again.

The only part of this episode I like is the c plot of Emma seeking out Hook’s history with Ursula and the speech about seeing the good in each other.

Where rewatching seasons 1-3 reminds me what I loved about this show, the current rewatch,the later seasons, kind of bum me out as we get closer to the season that nearly broke the show for me. 6. It’s taking me longer each weekend to get to the rewatch. Season 3 I could hardly wait for the next week.

I love the scene with Hook and Belle at the beginning. Too bad the show didn’t do more of that. The drive thru was fantastic. Still hate that Emma gives Regina all the credit when Belle and Hook did all the work. Sigh. Rest of the episode was kinda meh.

I hate everything about this episode. That is all I have to say about that.

To be honest they very nearly did that but with the way Emma was treating Hook in season 6. If I think too hard on the way she treated him I get quite soured but I have to remember this wasn't in character and was purely to serve the plot so I can dismiss it as not being a character flaw in Emma and blsme bad writing.

I had this same thought. As to the rest of the episode. That part at the beginning where Hook brings the box is cute and that next scene where they go through Emma’s memories is sweet. What? There was more? Shortest episode ever.

I have red wine and dark chocolate. Although perhaps rum would have been the better choice for this duo.

Once again plot needs trump all character progression and consistency.

It would have been interesting if Emma knew who she was in the wish realm and if they’d have done proper world building and it truly was a version where Snowing won and raised Emma properly, had additional children as royals do, Emma not having a child or marrying Neal since he wouldn’t have been there and yes have an older Hook but not ancient and fat. There would be the drama of her experiencing the life her parents wanted to give her. Then no reason for Regina to kill Snowing, perhaps the adventure would have been Emma, Regina and Hook rescuing wish Emma, if the writing had been in character there’s no way Hook would sit back and let Regina save Emma.
