  1. It seems Bill isn’t familiar with what “nuance” means, because it was surprisingly lacking from his discussion with the scientists. Nuance isn’t just pushing whatever anti-mainstream view that Bill endorses. IMHO, the lab theory hasn’t just been dismissed due to politicization and knee-jerk reactions, it’s also the fact that some major figures pushing that theory are documented xenophobes who are short on actual evidence, yet they present the theory as fact and weave an entire narrative around it. If they wanted to discuss the issue with nuance, they should have at least paid lip service to that perspective instead of simply reducing it to political tribalism.
  2. I’m just seeing this — never mind the Spanish is a living language and languages naturally change over time with societal changes. We’ll just have to agree to disagree, since there are plenty of Latinx who *do* believe there is a problem, which is why they are using their solution.
  3. I know the sample is supposed to be representative of Latinxs across the nation, but still — it’s only 508 people. And as it’s a relatively new term, it would be interesting to compare its rate of adoption to the term Latino. Most of the Latinx people I follow on social media (in the progressive spaces I frequent) use that term, so that’s what I use as well. Unlike Bill and his interaction with John Leguizamo, I wouldn’t cause a stir with someone just because they prefer to use a term that has not been widely adopted yet.
  4. Except (presumably) the ones he dates. He’s every old-man trope rolled into one. So much word to this quoted post, along with all the others who called out Bill’s tired schtick. He had a kernel of truth in New Rules that he blew way out of proportion. I thought I realized why when he brought up the “running speakers off college campuses” bit — of course he’s still salty about that, what a child. But I hadn’t known about the Rose McGowan allegation (thanks, @BrownBear2012 — he’s such a creep) so it now makes even more sense that this isn’t about him being resentful, it’s about his own self-preservation. He just needs to go away already. Kudos to @NeenerNeener for the livestock auctioneer analogy — that is exactly what Ellis, et al. sound like when they rattle off their talking points like that.
  5. That’s the point that I was making — he did his usual thing where he mocked the assumed reaction of liberals, and said of course 3 white guys can discuss racism. Like, Bill, no one said they couldn’t; the only thing people object to is when it’s a panel of only white men, with no other perspectives.
  6. The show’s IG said it would be preempted, but the show somehow made its way to my DVR anyway and I’m watching it now! What a nice surprise. 😄 Don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for anyone else. 👻
  7. The fact that Bill doesn’t see the issue with having three white men discuss anti-black racism is part of the reason this show is no longer a must-watch for me. It’s not that three white men aren’t allowed to discuss racism, Bill —it’s that a discussion about racism shouldn’t only include white men. 🤦🏾‍♀️
  8. This is the first episode of Real Time I’ve watched in a while — I just got tired of Bill’s grumpy-old-man-decrying-modern-liberals schtick. However, I was bored and still have several hours until LWT, so figured I’d give it another shot. *Sigh* I should’ve stayed away. It was so annoying to watch Bill stroke Coleman’s ego because he’s sooo ~eDgY~, just like Bill. 🙄 Bakari Sellers was okay, but it sucked watching him have to argue his points against both Bill and Coleman; I feel there are other people that could have held their own a bit better. The montage was pointless and dumb.
  9. Congrats to Bob’s Burgers! It’s been renewed for a 12th AND 13th season ahead of the Season 11 premiere! 🍔
  10. How gross, if true. Also? How sad that I don’t doubt for one second that it’s true.
  11. Happy anniversary, Bob and Linda! 🍔❤️🍔
  12. Same! I thought that was super weird, but no one else said anything so I thought I was just oblivious to a special feature or something. It was funny to read the pro-Monique propaganda, though. I wish all Bravolebs would plead their case on PT like that! 😏😂
  13. Yeah, that just sounds like Jeff Lewis and his particular brand of humor. It was a fun Feud, though! I was just reading that DFR article from the Today show since I saw there is yet another week with no new episode. After waiting a month, the second half of the season better be pretty damn spectacular.
  14. I keep telling y’all not to get my hopes up! 😫 (jk @SuprSuprElevated — thanks for keeping your ear to the streets!)
  15. I wish I could like these comments multiple times — I am not here for Molly (never really was, tbh), and there has been way too little Kelli.
  16. LMAO, this was hilarious! Her name always trips me up because I want to pronounce it CONdola (like “gondola”), but it’s conDOla, which just feels awkward.
  17. I’m disappointed that Corolla (™️ @rozen) is pregnant, but I’m glad it means Issa and Lawrence are not together anymore. Good for her for being straight-up with Lawrence about her not being able to deal with that. Lawrence needs to just go on to SF already. I would like to see Issa alone again for a good part of next season, but I do want her to eventually be with Nathan. Ugh, I can’t stand Tiffany OR Amanda Seales. I lost it when Amanda was going on about her acting in the Wine Down; when I was watching her scene at the hotel door, I was aghast at how awkward her “acting” was, it was just so bad. Umm, did Prentice attend the Tyler Perry actor’s studio or something? He was doing way too much, like “filmed in front of a live studio audience” too much. Sad the show is over, but excited for the next season. I love that “Looking for Latoya” has its own website and podcast, though. 😆
  18. I barely watched this episode. Why did Tinsley expect people to gush with emotion at the fact that she and Scott are back together? Didn’t Dorinda TMZ that shit last episode, and Tinsley pretended it wasn’t true? Ramona is so lame, being mean to Tinsley just because Dorinda told her to. Good riddance, Tinsley. May she never grace my TV again.
  19. Glad it wasn’t just me, then. It’s been a rough time, indeed.
  20. Words that have echoed since the advent of reality TV.
  21. Yup, I’ve remarked on that before re: Ramona and Kyle. Tamra from RHOC is another “Real Housewifes” offender.
  22. I am completely disgusted by Aaron’s aggressive, condescending behavior at the BBQ. And Denise just laughed. I get it, she was feeling piled up on, but she’s okay with the snake oil he sells so I guess she’s okay with his asshole-ish, domineering behavior as well. I’m glad they both will not be returning next season — and I was a big DFR fan. I wish the other women had told him off then and there for being such a prick. I can understand why they were stunned, though — Aaron is fucking “out there.” Good for Garcelle for standing up for DFR at multiple points in the argument. I thought the shade in her speech was a bit unnecessary, but it made for a funny moment so I don’t mind it. I liked that she shared the info about her oldest son and why her charity work meant so much to her, it was very touching. I love her so she better not pull a DFR on me!
  23. That was too damn cute! Loved it.
