  1. I liked the books. (No, they're not literature.) I watch the show kind of out of a sense of bemused horror. (As werewolves go, I kind of prefer Marsten.)
  2. This entire show is gratuitous, both with violence and simple stupidity.
  3. What I love about this show is how it subverts wish-fulfillment superhero shows while at the same time satisfying exactly those bullet points. Being a super genius isn't Brian's "power". Being a flawed, decent human being, who does the right thing even when handed unspeakable power is. To date, we've seen, what 6-8 people on NZT? Let's put aside the guy from ep 7, who was high as a kite and basically acted as a punchline. There's Morra, whose motives are unclear, but is willing to kill Rebecca's dad and use Sands to do stuff that's extremely distasteful. There's Casey and his crew, who imploded, and Casey was nominally a good guy. There was sweet Scientist husband guy, who kind of showcased the "good guys do good NZT". And there's Piper, who kind of sits in the middle. She needs redemption and Brian is kind of tugging her towards it. (Rebecca's dad is dead and we don't know if he died nobly or not but certainly she was in his thoughts towards the end, given the painting.) I don't think Piper's in the show to synthesize NZT or an antidote to the side effects. I think she's there because she needs saving from what NZT does to you. I also think she's about to be fridged but I don't really mind this because if she succeeded in her efforts it would pretty much ruin the show. Brian needs to be torn between the Morrites and the Fibbites and his family. One of the things I love his how much Brian's family undervalues him. Every now and then they admit to tiny bits of his goodness and creativity, but he's been in the role of failure for so long that they can't value his sacrifices for them. His dad won't say: "This is what my son did for me, accepting the devil's trade to save my life." Instead, it's all "Brian is incapable of making these decisions." His Mom doesn't see the would-be superhero who is trying to the most good while being under enormous pressures pulled between the Morra team and the FBI, who is portrayed as the good guys but isn't always able to make good outcomes. His brother and sister have accepted him as the failure kid for so long that they don't see where he's blossomed. What's great though is that each person on the FBI side of things is learning to value him, despite the fact that he's can be an emotionally needy child with a great heart. From the Christmas lights to last week's work with Spellman, etc, he's earning respect from everyone and not just because he's an irreplaceable asset. He defines himself by his family and the people who are actually embracing him live at his workplace. I ramble. Loved the episode. Please let the renewal be confirmed and please let them keep the quality of writing high. And please let them have an end to the story in mind like on Person of Interest.
  4. After Elena, why didn't Jeremy offer the Sheriff the bite?

  6. Oh Limitless, you break my heart, you change things up. I loved this ep.
  7. Apparently I was not the only one screaming at my TV "YOU BETTER BE USING PROTECTION THIS TIME!"
  8. Some good villain lines. And then they killed half the villains. Still feels as if they're just cranking this out. (At least it's still better than Haven S5)
  9. Another incredibly clever ep. I love this show. The comic book backstory and merging plotlines were perfect. Plus I kind of ship Sis & Ike now.
  10. "Eet would have been better wit Marcel Marceau, non?"
  11. So, I gave up on S2, trying again with S3, and it's still the bloodiest most violent show. And clearly Jeremy did some deal with Roman, promising him Sasha's head in return for a few favors, right? Were the books this intense? I don't remember them being quite so...bloody. But then again, it's a lot easier to flip pages.
  12. Janitor for sure, Computer Nerd who almost joined a cult too
  13. Bollywood. Pony races. Sixties montage. How I love this show. Get renewed show. Get renewed now.
  14. I think that's why they pushed the point that he was a regular customer, known to the chef.
  15. Recorded. Haven't bothered to watch. Trying to work up the enthusiasm. Is it cancelled yet?
  16. OMG, this is *still* *on*? I recorded 301. Worth watching?
  17. So far, best scene of the series was on that ?elevator? where he was comparing old-guy notes with an actual old-guy.
  18. This ep was such a downer, even with Spike. Not one of my faves. It just felt like the writing was flat and it was missing...something.
  19. I'm guessing we meet the beast, at least in human form, at next week's Lacrosse game with Devenford. And I'm wondering if the Theo "secret sauce" is "he and the sister he killed were twins": natural Chimera versus "made" Chimera. Also, if the only connection between Parrish and Lydia is Hellhound/Banshee, I demand equal sexy shower scene time for Parrish and Meredith.
  20. Not a fan of the episode except the bits with Theo and Stiles running through tunnels, where there was actual tension, dialog, and character development. Particularly annoyed with the Stydarrish triangle. Parrish the mindless rage monster has grown old. Sure, show him with his clothes burned off, but in the last 5 eps, he's only had one scene (with Chris and Gerard) that informed his character. He just went mental to save Lydia (the last time his character spoke to her, it was interrupted to go visit the library). They "share a bond" and he was perfectly happy to hand her off to the important characters to finish the story so she could gush about Stiles to her mom. Hayden continues to be a complete moron, unworthy of Sprayberry's Liam -- he had some great moments this ep -- or Mason, who stole every moment from their scenes together. The best part was when she was behind a wall. The Scott/Meredith scenes were simply disturbing. And who knew that injecting a paste of unsterile mistletoe into a banshee's overloaded brain, where the skull has been physically removed and the blood/brain barrier breeched is a recommended medical treatment. At least creepy Eichen nurse man was spared, wasn't he?
  21. Trapped in Eichen House with Theo and his Chimera Pack, Scott must try to rescue Lydia before it’s too late.
  22. Anything outside the Duvall/James thing was awful. And yet, I still keep on watching.
  23. Wherever it is, let's drive them out of business already. This is almost as Victorians covering piano legs. It's 2016. Speedos exist. Use 'em. May I add, Parrish was absolutely wasted by the writing staff this week. In four episodes, he got a couple of minutes of backstory and plot development. Plus not an Argent in sight. The beast jumped onto the road headed away from a murder spree downtown when we cut to Melissa at the Hospital. She's not the beast. Mason on the other hand was conveniently absent all show.
  24. I'm watching this for uptight Peter Burke and Robert K. floating in jello. Weeaboo murderers are incidental. I can't believe it's almost Friday and the show still hasn't been cancelled!
