  1. I figured that Melissa didn't exist when the producers didn't do the usual "24 hours earlier" back story on her. But then we all got fooled when she emerged in the end. I wonder if they actually did get any other footage of her or if what we saw is it.
  2. Anyone else wonder if Karine actually did the pregnancy test or whether she just splashed some water on it or something?
  3. Any theories on where the missing $ went?
  4. I wondered if the Jesse makeup line was some kind of attempt to say Darcy shouldn't wear makeup because she's pretty without any makeup at all on, and it just came out wrong? Or am I giving him too much credit? I do think he's an asshole -- just not sure he was totally being one there or not. And Darcy was totally fishing for a compliment in asking him what he thought of her makeup (as she has toned it down considerably now). I really do think he was trying to say, "Hey, that does look better, but you don't really need it at all. You look better without it." One thing that made me sad as a female about Darcy's age -- before seeing Jesse again she kept saying, "I've worked on myself physically" and "I've changed physically" and cited her weight loss (but it's also apparent she's had a facelift), but we can tell as viewers that she hasn't changed at all internally. She is so insecure about her appearance as an older woman that that's all she can think about. Aging isn't for the weak, friends! Another thing that makes me sad: I'm a South Carolina resident and Angela's representation of the South is killing me. But I guess no one is really doing great things from the places they hail from, now that I think about it.
  5. I actually had looked at the Casery's website several months ago after seeing an ad on Facebook for it. Some of the designs were fun, and I thought about getting one (but didn't). I'm not in the target demographic (I'm almost 50), but I like artsy, unique stuff. But I ended up getting an Otterbox instead. My first thought on Marcus' BRKN sweaters is they look like Mr. Rogers promoting some kind of American Heart Association awareness campaign. NOT SEXY.
  6. I liked this so much more than I thought I would. I had never seen that trailer episode, so that was fascinating all on its own. I had always thought that Marcus found struggling businesses that he was interested in taking over for strategic reasons for his overall portfolio, so those companies could serve one another in the Marcus lineup and make him more $, and that was about it. I honestly never thought deeply about the "good TV" part of it until tonight. Very insightful! One other thing: I had a hard time imagining Tracy (that was her name, right? The female owner?) married to the male owner (sorry, crappy with names). SO. MUCH. DRAMA. Also -- just because I notice these things -- It looked like both of them had gotten a professional teeth whitening before the show filmed. They were all over this.
  7. Anfisa is going to find someone else in the US who will be happy to be her bankroller. She's already getting better work done on her face with the Botox and lip injections, so she's on the way up, and some horny sugar daddy is going to want that. I am fascinated by the progression of plastic surgery and injections with the cast. I have no doubt Chantel got a much bigger boob job from one of the good ATL plastic surgeons and some things done to her face (but I can't figure out what). Pao looked good all along but has definitely had several things done to her body (possibly bigger breast implants -- definitely huge lip injections). Jorge's sister has pretty sizable breast implants that seem to be bigger than last season. I suspected Anfisa probably had a butt lift type procedure and breast implants back home but it seems she's diving deeper into the well with procedures. I wish we had a plastic surgeon in our forum who could theorize what all has happened. I'm fascinated.
  8. Any thoughts on the Platinum Club episode from Vegas?
  9. Mark and Digger seem to have some reality TV star power. LOVE! I'm from Southwestern Virginia, and this show makes me miss home big time.
  10. For new host nominations: Craig Melvin!
  11. And Mariah is known to like her younger men, too - although she does date old guys if they're really rich. Yes -- she gives me a distinct Mariah wanna-be vibe in that outfit on the couch, and I can see her trying to emulate other facets of her life, too. It's kind of sad when women are trying so, so hard like that to be loved and to be attractive to others, between the spray tans, hair extensions, fillers, Botox, make up, ridiculous shoes, etc. To me, she was most beautiful in the filming when she was without a lot of makeup. Seeing her trying so hard for that manipulative jerk is tragic. She's not the kind of chick I would have as a BFF, but some guy will really dig her as is. Just not Jesse.
  12. I wonder if Darcey is trying to channel Mariah Carey as her style icon?
  13. Sean reminds me of Flanders from the Simpsons for some reason. So unsexy.
  14. After the mysterious talk about Anfisa's job and not knowing what it was, I figured I would just come here today and someone else would have already done the legwork. I love it when y'all prove me right.
  15. So why didn't Paul (is that his name, the KY guy?) not have a conversation with Karine about STDs/pregnancy BEFORE traveling to see her? I'm 47, and watching Darcy has been illuminating about how unattractive it is to be so concerned about one's appearance. It's almost been therapeutic for me. Aging sucks, but turning into what she is sucks a lot more. There is something sexy about being comfortable in your own skin, even if that skin is a little wrinkled. I've been hitting the gym a lot more and that seems like a lot better strategy than Fillerfest 2017.
  16. Is a 50-inch TV really a good deal in the end if you spend a few hundred dollars shipping it to the DR?
  17. If we were to reverse the scenario and any of the men were trying to slap/punch their women, we would definitely NOT tolerate that. I mean, Jorge sucks for lying to her when she has been direct about her desire to be a gold digger, but no one should be getting physically assaulted by their spouse in a legal conference room.
  18. Hannah seems the most reasonable of all of them. I appreciate that she did try to talk to Ashley about why she would prefer that Ashley not strip down to sheer lingerie in front of her man. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Ashley would be super cool if she didn't seem so thirsty for attention. But she does make for good TV. Otherwise, without her, there would be no interest to the show at all. She's reality TV gold. Why is Catherine so mumbly? In her interviews, she's always looking at the ground, and when Lyle talks to her she looks at anything other than him most of the time. I wonder if part of the reason Southern Charm Charleston works better than Southern Charm Savannah is the age of the cast. The Charleston cast just seems to have more "life experience."
  19. I live in South Carolina, and no one says all that, "As a Southerner, we BLAH BLAH BLAH" stuff unless we get asked (rarely) about our traditions/language, etc., from someone from another part of the US or out of the country. It's too contrived (and TIRED) to keep including that kind of language in the interview segments. So far, on SC Savannah, I've yet to see a person that I thought, "Hey, I would like be friends with him (or her)." At least on SC Charleston there are a few more likable cast members, in my opinion -- Cam, Naomi, Patricia, etc. But maybe I'm biased with my SC residency. :)
  20. Why is everyone talking about Landon when I can't stop staring at Whitney's face and trying to figure out if he's had a facelift, or what? Something is different.
  21. At least this one didn't have the creepy vibe that permeates a lot of the episodes. Colleen and Tony seemed genuinely to be interested in each other, but they're both so naive it's hard to imagine this relationship will stick.
  22. I hated the camera work on Mary when Max went into the house to meet her. It was just completely focused on her torso with her head partially cropped off. COME ON. WE GET IT. SHE'S OVERWEIGHT. Now stop.
  23. I remember her saying something, too, about wanting to make babies with this guy before she even met him. GIRL. Needy isn't sexy!
  24. GaT, I totally thought Keerah was male, too, and was confused when Max or Nev asked Keerah what gender she considered herself. When she said "female" I was surprised. I appreciate the fact that this show is revealing some trans-related themes and making them more mainstream, but I worry about the ramifications for the trans participants in their hometowns and with their families.
  25. Mecca has gorgeous eyes. This episode left me more sad than the usual Catfish entertainment.
