  1. Here's the new logo for the season. It was posted by Lynn Spillman. Filming should be over any day. Not sure about the theme but the logo is one of the best they've done in a long time.
  2. Joe seems to win everything except Survivor. Maybe he needed to be on a show that didn't involve strategy and having people vote. The Amazing Race might have been more his speed. I had seen a preview earlier this week, and it gave away that Joe/Kelley won. I don't play Candy Crush and don't know if I'll watch again, but it was fun tonight. You could tell who definitely plays this game. I'm surprised they didn't have them all play for charity, even though it sounded like Joe is donating his winnings towards that.
  3. Yeah, this twist isn't going to change anything. I wonder if they'll tell them ahead of time, or actually spring it on them right at the final 4? If anything this makes it more likely that a goat gets dragged to the final 3, and a real strong player that might have otherwise made it gets screwed. Better yet, why don't they just handpick the winner? It's clear that most of these changes come about because they're pissed someone didn't make it to the end and/or win.
  4. I can't remember who I voted for in the other categories, but I know I did not vote for Rupert for that other million. I think I voted for Rob C. I hated that he played so close to his previous season. I wish they had waited until S10 to do an AS season. Maybe that extra time wouldn't have made him such a threat. You can see Sue point to Rupert before Jeff even read the result. Everyone knew he was winning.
  5. I haven't watched this season in a very long time, but wasn't Sally going to be the target had she not gone to EI? For argument's sake I'm going to say they picked Terry to go to EI instead of her. Would the 3 men have stuck together and voted Sally off, or would Austin and Nick jumped ship and targeted Dan? I assumed Sally was the one going if not for the last second reprieve of going to EI. With her gone, the men had to turn on each other. In that case, I know Dan likely knew he was going, especially if he couldn't convince Terry to try and force a tie.
  6. Jaime and Erik from China are also married. At the time, I thought it was romance on Amber's part, more showmance on Rob's. Even when he proposed at the reunion, I rolled my eyes thinking it was a publicity stunt. But since I hated the bitterness of some of the AS jury, even if Amber was technically the winner, I'm glad Rob basically won too (in many ways) to stick it to them. I really didn't expect their relationship to last, but I'm happy for them. They still seem very much in love and they have beautiful children. I had heard rumors that Amber and Rob were somewhat of a thing before the season aired as well, though I can't remember where. I didn't realize Ethan had dated Amber, though I remember he had hooked up with the other Jenna. They were on Mark Burnett's other show, Eco Challenge, together. I can't remember who else was part of their team. It's why it surprised me that there seemed to be bad blood between them by the time AS rolled around. Just seemed like this season was personal on many levels.
  7. I remember that fish challenge, mainly because Terry got so frustrated at the end when they lost I thought he was going to chop right through the surface. I was glad when Sally got sent to EI, because it spared her from certain elimination. I liked her, and really hated Terry's merry band of men, so I was glad they finally had to turn on each other.
  8. You can see in the background a challenge set up (looks like the boring water basketball challenge). This was on June 11th, so I'm wondering if this is a two tribe season, or if they had already done a swap since there's only two colors present in the background.
  9. So they want to cast true fans vs recruits so So they want to cast true fans vs recruits because they think fans have an appreciation for the game and won't let a FTC get ugly? Also, I wish we could have seen an unedited, complete footage version of S30,. Probst hyped it, and now this guy said he loved it but it was a different perception with the fans (who knew, you actually want to have more than 1 person to root for). I hope so, because I really didn't like asking why their game relates to the 3 staples of Survivor. Other than that, it's a pretty perfect format. As we've said, the jury has their mind made up anyway. I'd like them to show less footage of the FTC, and more of the finale, even though that ain't happening.
  10. S36 will be the first cast to know about this ahead of time, as S35 filmed while S34 was airing. So it'll be interesting how the final 2/3 will handle the FTC going forward when they know that the jury isn't going to stand up and either grandstand on their behalf or just give bitter betty speeches where they won't have to answer anything. I think that's what I'm most looking forward to. But again, there's a few cons to how this might go so we'll see.
  11. Sandra was also good friends with Troy, so I think she could have made it quite far had she been able to get with him if he had the numbers. At the very least she might have made the jury. It's why I sometimes hate swaps. She got royally screwed, though she won't be the last.
  12. I actually like it, so I'm happy. As long as it doesn't go off the rails, I'm good.
  13. http://www.cbs.com/shows/candy-crush/news/1007261/candy-crush-to-premiere-with-fan-favorites-from-survivor-and-big-brother/ Joe, Kelley Wentworth, Woo, and Jeremy will be competing on the premiere of Candy Crush against former BB HG (Caleb being one of them).
  14. I don't know if it was really bitter of him. He had no bond with Parvati, and she was the one who really spearheaded the female alliance. Or at least helped put it together. The women coerced him into giving up immunity, and though that's his own idiotic fault, I'm sure the humiliation was still stinging. I think he thought he had a bond with Amanda. However, he isn't the first to make a statement like that. I think about WA, and how (god forbid) the final 3 could have been Dan/Rodney/Will. Yikes. I wonder if the jury could flat out mutiny? I do think some jurors like to talk tough. Like "I"d rather have a root canal than vote for anyone in the final 3, and my vote was more to make the other person lose." All this talk about Micronesia, I'm going to put that next on the re-watch list.
  15. I think this might have come down to possible Ponderosa jury persuasion. Erik was an Ozzy fanboy, so whatever feelings he might have had against Amanda, still might have voted for her over Cirie because of Ozzy. I believe 100% Natalie was voting for Parvati regardless. So for argument's sake, we'll say Amanda has James/Ozzy/Erik for sure, and Parvati has Natalie, leaving Jason/Alexis/Eliza. I don't believe that Eliza would want to see Amanda win, so if she thought there was a chance she might if she voted for Cirie, she would likely vote for Parvati. I could equally see Jason and Alexis taking that same road. It's hard to believe there's a scenario where Cirie would get zero votes, but maybe. Also, since Parvati got credit for the Ozzy boot (even if it was Cirie's idea), how would that have worked into the edit? I believe Cirie masterminded a lot more than we were shown. If she made the final 3, we might have seen those moves. If Ozzy got up and told Parv to do a dance for their friendship, would Cirie get up and start busting a move because she said it was her idea, not Parvati's? It's kind of scary to think the outcome of this game could have hinged on Eliza/Jason/Alexis/Erik. And would it be because they respected her game play or just liked her better than the alternatives? But I love debating the 'what ifs'! As for Ami-well, it's always been said that he first juror can set the tone for Ponderosa. So does that mean they would have merged, though, if Ami was the first juror and we had a final 3? She was with Cirie and Amanda more, so she might have had more of an ax to grind with them. But in a merge situation, her boot likely doesn't go down the same way, with Erik going to Ozzy and throwing her under the bus. She'd likely still be outnumbered at the merge, even if Eliza and Jason were at her side. However, if she was first juror, and her boot plays out the way it did, I'm saying she's a vote for Cirie or Parvati. She might have respect for Cirie. I don't see Amanda getting her vote.
  16. Kass was very UTR during SC, but I know she said that was primarily her strategy. She's lucky she wound up on Bayon, because when she finally did have to go to TC, there were other targets. I missed Chaos Kass from Cagayan, though. That was why she got some of my votes, but that's usually how it goes in returning player seasons-sometimes they aren't as good as you remember from the last time.
  17. I'll always be soured on Adam's win mainly because of the story with his mom. I lost my dad to lung cancer and sympathize, but it just seemed calculated how he finally brought it up when it mattered most. Would it have made a difference? Probably not, as I don't think anyone on the jury could fathom losing to Hannah, and Ken...well, Ken was nice to look at. I do think, of the two, Hannah played a better game. But that's not a season I find overly strategic in terms of game play, anyway. I always looked at Adam's as being more social, which I realize is a strategy in itself, but I'm not a fan typically of that game play.
  18. Hopefully it's okay to start this thread, as S36 is a ways off from airing. But rumors and spoilers are already coming out about the season so I thought it should have its own thread. The theme for S36 is Ghost Island, and today Redmond updated what that is going to mean for the season. http://insidesurvivor.com/survivor-season-36-title-revealed-28030 Still not much to go on, but at least it's not a tribe of castoffs that get to re-enter the game at the final 5, as was the original plan when they planned on doing this for S30. I believe filming started last week, and if it's the same as S34, they should be done by mid July.
  19. I always considered Jason's vote towards Parvati more a vote against Amanda (because of her showmance with Ozzy). I think he would have voted for Cirie in that situation. Erik and Eliza are bigger wildcards. Eliza I can see going towards Cirie, or keeping her vote for Parvati. Either way she'd still be up in the voting booth acting like she's the deciding vote in a Law & Order jury vote.
  20. I'm in the middle of watching HvsV, so I'll look out for that. I obviously forgot about that. Maybe I'm confusing it with no one had seen his season, so he thought his strategy might be better respected by veterans vs newbies? Whatever the case, he was still a sore loser, and seems to still have it out for Sandra, judging by what Caleb said. I'm sure if Natalie White ever popped back up on the Survivor grid and returned he'd be out for her, too. I believe juries can be bitter, but I find that more with returning player seasons (see AS) or getting the Corinne's of the game on a jury. I do agree with your statement on Russell, and for everything he might have done right, he missed the most crucial part of winning the game. He could have still played a villain, but got respect for his moves if he hadn't let his ego do the talking. Agree with the rest of your post as well. I miss the days when it wasn't about characters, moments, airtime, and resume building. I've been saying it for awhile, I think some contestants are more concerned with getting asked back or being remembered than they are about anything else.
  21. The look on Jeff's face made up for it. I'm surprised she didn't write "call me" on the parchment when she wrote Parvati's name down.
  22. Returning player seasons are tricky when it comes to the juries and who gets votes in the end. Pre game alliances are a thing, and personal relationships can definitely factor into voting. As some people already said, Sandra was going to likely have 3 votes on that jury no matter what (Amanda, Rupert, and Courtney). Where Russell goes wrong is that he does not know how to handle personal relationships or social game. He could have made a good argument regarding the Heroes giving him the idol and how he played/used that to his advantage. Ultimately the Heroes were idiots and that was their mistake, but no doubt Russell's further antics lost any respect votes he would have gotten from the Heroes (or Villians) for that. Russell can get a decent resume, he just needs to know how to have a better social game and how to manage the relationships around him. His biggest thing, like we saw during HvsV, was seeing people around him trying to take control. I think the problem, too, is he thought he had won Samoa, and played exactly the same because he assumed it had been successful for him before. It's probably doubtful he'll play again, because he'll likely be the first one voted off.

I'd like to see more challenges without puzzles, period. Or at least puzzles that are more complicated, and don't involve having to be knocked down by bean bags.
  24. Shannon (a him) wanted the women voted off first since women won the last two seasons, and got into a confrontation with Sash at TC where he questioned his sexuality. He did damage control when he was (thankfully) the second boot, but then at the reunion stood by what he said.
  25. Perhaps the biggest 'what if' is what if Cirie sided with Penner/Yau/Eliza/Ami and booted Parvati third? That's a whole domino effect, because not only does she not win, but it's unlikely she'll return for HvsV, which could turn that entire season around. Even if the other events did happen in Micronesia (Penner's medevac, the quits, etc), I often wonder what would have happened if Parvati was the third boot. Would Cirie have been able to rally the girls at the merge for a female alliance-maybe a female alliance that includes Eliza? Does Cirie get booted before she can convince Erik to make one of the dumbest moves in Survivor history? Do the fans tolerate each other enough to work together? Does Eliza not find herself in trouble that she plays the stick? I realize that every season can have 'what ifs' sceanrios, but I often think about Micronesia, especially since it could spill over into another season and drastically change the outcome of that game.
