Here's a clip she's referencing on her twitter tirade about her tribe (I know this was posted in the episode thread, but I'm posting it here as well(: Now I'm glad she hid the flint, and I hope she frees the chickens just because these guys deserve it. Go big Big Wendy! I really wish Chris had just kept his mouth shut, so Wentworth would have been booted, and Wardog and Lauren would have sat their with flabbergasted looks on their faces. And I hope Wentworth blindsides her two minions, Lauren and especially Wardog.

I just think there's a logical reason Julia hasn't had any air time, the biggest one being that Kama hasn't lost any challenges yet. And their one loss, the chicken reward, was still better drama at the Manu camp because of Wendy's ankle and her hypocritical desire to let the food loose. At Kama, you have Joe and Aubry, but it's not like many other people have gotten a ton of airtime. I remember Victoria for being bad at strategizing and idol hunting, and Eric and Gavin for wanting to make big resume moves and get rid of a returning player. Why they haven't given her one confessional I don't know, but again, she might not be all that interesting or had anything to contribute with what we've had so far. Last season was way more balanced with editing, so I'm not sure the difference with this season (returning players aside).

Yeah, listening to Jeff is always a bad idea. Listen to all of his pre-cast assessments every season and it is the same thing every time. But maybe she thought that was a ringing endorsement at being a Probst fave. I was more annoyed at the title of the article saying that Survivor was ignoring one of the two black castaways this season, as if race had anything to do with it. I don't think she herself was playing the race card.
-
If it's any consolation I only remember the other people on her tribe for the wrong reasons (or because they are Joe and Aubry), I forgot there was a Julie, and I keep thinking Gavin is named Nick, even though he reminds me of Donathan from the way he looks. I don't like how the article is titled "...Ignoring One of Their Two Black Cast Members..." Race doesn't have anything to do with it. Maybe she's just that boring. I've watched bonus clips of her TH, and I can't say she's overly exciting. Not saying I don't feel for her, however. Also, getting ignored isn't always the worst thing in the world. They could show her as some hapless follower who is indecisive and looks clueless about the decisions being made around her. Or like Victoria, who I know best for not looking for idols and telling Joe to his face while she had her back to him that she was voting him out.

New preview this week. Apparently they find out Wendy stole the flint. And she's not done. Wonder if she'll go full Brandon Hantz?

If the rumors are true, that's why it's a controversial ending. I had heard that EOE didn't play out how they expected. Supposedly, they assumed that the castoffs would be attempting to get the other players to quit so they'd have less people to deal with in returning to the game. Instead, people bonded, and the twist kind of flopped. In addition, they are able to bond with the potential winner, and totally discount someone who actually managed to stay in the game and make it to the end (which is supposed to be the whole point). As to the tribe swap this week-kind of weird if true. Posters at Sucks, based on photos and other evidence, believe that the NuKama is basically old Kama-Gavin, Aubry, Joe, Julia, and Ron. Which makes me wonder, do they really want a returnee booted pre-jury to go to EOE, since that whole twist was set up for them? Joe and Aubry didn't get a life line here at all. It's also worth noting that there was a bonus clip of Ron this week, where he talked about his secret advantage. Apparently, he was allowed to will it to someone at Manu if he wanted. Instead, he kept it to use it for strategy purposes, since no one knows it expired (either hiding it and letting someone find it, or using it to get people to work with him). Considering he was openly talking with Victoria about booting Joe, in front of Joe, not sure he can pull it off.

https://ew.com/tv/2019/03/07/survivor-edge-of-extinction-jeff-probst-episode-3-chickengate/ Here's Jeff's teaser for next week. I have to say, I feel like there's not much to his teasers so far this season. And per usual, I totally disagree with his assessment about the game play going on, although maybe he's got nothing else to talk about it so that's all he can fall back on.
-
Funny thing is, we've been saying how EOE is tailor made for someone like Joe, but Chris is quite the challenge beast, and I know will give it more than his all to return. I can't wait to see the old Manu's face when he comes waltzing in (especially Wardog). I hope Reem makes it too, just for laughs.
-
I actually agree with the poster in the episode thread who said Wendy is auditioning for the Sia prize. She knows she’s on the bottom of the barrel, so might as well make her mark now. She was super annoying about the chickens (especially trying to get Rick to do her dirty work), but I was impressed how strong she was in the IC despite her injury. I'm curious if that’ll hinder her down the road. I did laugh when Wendy was all smiles and laughs at TC, and then we cut to a shot of Wentworth who looked ready to murder someone.

I think back to this time last season and how much better it was-and then remember it’s merely episode 3. This time last season we already had good characters (the rootable, the villains, and the annoying), blindsides, strategy, betrayals, and just fun. Reem actually seemed to cheer up once Keith arrived. And Chris, if he wants to make life easy, might be a good provider and camp worker. They may all end up sticking it out after all.
-
I think this was posted already, but I’ll post it again since it applies to Chris. He had an IG post that he ended up deleting, where he was seen wearing a red buff (supposedly the merge buff). There could be other explanations, but obviously many believe this means he ends up winning his way back into the game at the merge.

There's 15 people left, so there'd be 3 tribes of 5. While the last couple of seasons the swap didn't help the tribe that was already down in numbers, it's possible Manu could wind up on the majority on at least one tribe. The better question is would they stick together. Wentworth/Wardog/Lauren may stick together, but I think Wentworth and Wardog would sell each other out in a heartbeat. I also think Wendy, David, and Rick would go with whoever. Kama's dynamics are interesting, especially since we haven't seen a lot of their tribe. It'd be humorous if Wentworth, Joe, and Aubry all wound up on the same tribe against Victoria and Eric, and whether the formers would stick together.
-
I loved that scene of Wardog telling Rick about his conversation with Chris, and Rick was like 'thank god he doesn't know it was me that was behind it.' I'm actually liking Rick again, minus the last name thing. I like the band of misfits of him, David, and Wendy. This season is very meh for me. Chris was a shocking boot at least, but one of the few people I liked. This might have actually been a decent season had the returning players not been thrown in, because I don't think the cast is that bad. Just very bland right now because there's so much focus on Joe/Aubry/David/Wentworth.
-
And Wendy’s hurt, but we got chickens to admire! And damn, I was agreeing with Wardog again. Thanks a lot Wendy. Ron had the option of stealing the reward, but no one knows that, and he probably made the right choice, since he didn’t know whether his tribe would be going to TC. And why burn bridges in case there’s a swap? I wonder if the advantage gets re-buried since it wasn’t used. Chicken whining and flint stealing aside, I liked Wendy. She did pretty good for someone with a hurt ankle. In all, I’m still finding this a hard group to root for. I feel like I don’t know enough about Kama, other than everyone but Aurora wants Joe/Aubry gone, and Victoria is bad at strategizing. I am liking Rick at Manu, and David still. And Chris, but so much for that for now. I hope that group of 6 feels the same way about first timers if they ever find themselves in a season like this. I’m sure they’ll have a different attitude about being targeted.
-
Well, I didn’t see that coming. I must say I’m getting very excited for everyone to find out about the EOE twist. Chris probably will stick it out. I was going to be very disappointed if we saw all that chaos at the Manu camp over the vote, confusion at TC, only for a very predictable Wendy vote. I actually thought David might go. I loved the Wentworth vote not even being Chris’s idea, but the vote then turning on him because he told Wardog (Chris “I’m tight with Wardog.” Wardog “I’m tighter with Wentworth than Chris.”) And I realize Joe was crouched down behind Victoria-but for real, he’s not a small guy, he’s wearing colorful shorts, and he’s got a lot of hair. Plus, your out in the open. How do you not see him? I really wanted Joe or Aubry to find the idol, so I'm glad one of them did.
-
Tribe swap next week, and chickens are freed. I don't know if Wendy was begging to get voted off by doing that, since everyone will know it's her, but it may not matter now. So three tribes, plus EOE, is going to be a lot.
-
There’s so much focus on Kama this week in the previews. Maybe they just don’t have anything else to show at Manu, or else Wendy goes as a predictable boot and they are just trying to make it look exciting. The clip of Ron and Victoria talking about Joe is before the IC. One thing that’s been picked up on at other sites is that some of the shots from Kama are out of order from when they happened. A confessional from Aubry episode 1 was said to actually have been from one of her pre show videos. There’s been a couple of other instances picked up where things weren’t in order as well. Now, that’s not exactly new in Survivor, but maybe they are making this look more dramatic than it is.
-
So I posted in the previews thread a link about Victoria/Ron talking about getting rid of Joe...while Joe was right there. And Victoria didn’t see him. Though it’s unclear whose going to TC tonight, I’m thinking Kama loses based on the previews and the fact that Ron has until tonight to use his advantage. Given Jeff’s comment about a surprising schemer, maybe he was poking fun at Victoria getting caught, but maybe he meant Ron. He could use his extra vote if it looks like there’s a split to get rid of either Aubry/Joe or someone else like Victoria. I’d be slightly surprised if Joe or Aubry go tonight because it seems too obvious. Aurora maybe trying to scheme can backfire on her, too, if she tries ousting someone else. There’s a couple of screenshots on Sucks from Ron’s SM accounts (one post which he deleted) which makes him seem very excited for tonight’s episode. Since he’s been a non entity so far and has an advantage, my guess is that might change the vote tonight. Aurora/Joe/Aubry against the rest, so we’ll see who else they get on their side. Maybe they can convince Victoria that she writes down the name of a person she wants to keep. If she can’t notice Joe behind her when she’s talking about him and then still openly say she is thinking about voting him out, she might buy that. If Manu loses I’d be shocked if Wendy doesn’t go.

So is this Victoria’s “stick to the plan!” Moment? https://www.etonline.com/survivor-sneak-peek-victoria-awkwardly-talks-about-sending-joe-home-in-front-of-joe-exclusive

On an Island of One: Unpopular Opinions of Survivor
LadyChatts replied to Donny Ketchum's topic in Survivor
I don't want Survivor to end, either. I get nostalgic watching the earlier seasons, and realizing how many years ago they were, and where we are now. Watching Guatemala, it's surreal to think we hadn't yet met Cirie, Ozzy, Malcolm, Russell, Andrea, Parvati, or Coach. I will say that I've been feeling in a slump the past few seasons, as they've all just blended together, had uninspiring casts, and were boring and predictable. I hate the F4 fire making twist, and don't think it serves the purpose Probst claims it does (if he ever believed that to begin with). I don't care for an over abundance of idols and advantages in a season. But, last season breathed some new life into the show. It reminded me of an old school season mixed with new school elements, and I loved the cast. I think it is one of the stronger seasons this show has had. But good, bad, or meh, I'll take Survivor in any form. I never would have imagined it would make it 40 seasons and 20 years when it first started. Next season will be the first Lynn Spielmann cast-less season. I'm curious how it might differ, because she definitely seemed set on certain types and trying to create showmances. -
Agreed. I think she’s overrated as a Survivor player, but she did decent enough in SC. I was impressed with her during that first tribe swap, when her and Terry were the only OG Ta’Keo members left at Ta’Keo, and Terry’s off on a Sunday stroll while Kelley stuck close to everyone else and was involved in strategy sessions. And she attempted to pull off an impressive fake idol with Keith. That said, I’m reminded this season again why I didn’t like her in the first place, and I think all this ‘legend’ status has gone to her head.

Survivor Sucks has them in the MESS forum in various threads (the two challenge threads, and I think the Solving Riddles and Story Arcs topics). So they're kind of spread all over there, but I don't know where else to find them; I believe Inside Survivor lost their press credentials or something. We know Ron has the advantage-would they have shown that if it doesn't get used? It has to be used this episode or else it's no good. Assuming he doesn't steal the other tribe's reward, if Manu does win that, then he'd have to use it at TC. Maybe he's who Probst is talking about, and he uses the extra vote which results in someone being voted off (hey, two seasons in a row where someone actually uses that correctly). While I totally get where Gavin and Eric are coming from in regards to voting off Joe/Aubry (even though, again, I think it's more for resume building and a big move from Gavin's perspective), I like them and don't want them to leave yet. I wish G/E had wound up on Manu because they could go crazy targeting Wentworth and David for all I care. I won't lie that I'd kind of like to see Eric or Gavin get blindsided. On the other hand, I'd love it if Joe did get voted off, and Eric/Gavin were all smug about it, only to watch his Man Bun show up on the horizon when the EOE twist is revealed. All that talk about getting rid of Joe/Aubry I feel like is leading somewhere. I don't feel like Joe hasn't had much of a story yet, unless it takes place on EOE and he wins his way back into the game. For such a well know player, I'm just surprised there hasn't been much to his edit yet. The worst I can remember was Missy during SJDS. It was end game and she wasn't pulled, likely for that reason. That does look very nasty, so I don't know what they'd do. We know she competes in the IC, supposedly already injured, but we don't know where the rest of that footage happened. Could be a situation like Bi last season, where she tries to tough it out but decides she can't or just gets a mercy vote off.
-
Not sure yet. Some think she may drop out down the road if the pain becomes too great. Speculation is the hurt ankle is just being hyped up in the previews as to whether she’ll get pulled from the game, but there will be a normal TC and vote.
-
Speculation on Sucks this week is that Manu wins the RC, and Wendy is already injured when she competes in the IC (press photos appear to show her ankle wrapped). Also, to the surprise of no one, it appears Keith does join Reem at EOE. Not sure about the results of IC, but over at Kama Ron still has his advantage ala carte, which has to be used by the end of the third TC. His 3 options were get an extra vote, give himself immunity, or steal the other tribe's reward. My guess is he'll go for the first two over stealing the other tribe's reward. Wendy's ankle and Joe/Aubry looking like sitting ducks are probably going to be huge misdirects. Here's Jeff's teaser for this week: https://ew.com/tv/2019/02/28/survivor-jeff-probst-edge-of-extinction-episode-2/ Since we saw Aurora talking to Joe and Aubry in the preview at the end of the last episode, I wonder if this could point to her. She might turn the tables on Eric and Gavin wanting Joe/Aubry gone and blindside one of them instead, if they go to TC.
-
I love Aubry. I'd still take her as winner over Michele any day. Aubry is kind of an interesting contestant-she went from being a nervous crier in her first season, to being invisible most of her second season, and now she kind of seems like she's debating with herself how to approach the game while trying to make friends.
