Surprised Jeff would be onboard with this since he hated the Outcast Tribe. I can see where this likely cost production favorites and changed the course of the game by someone bitter re entering and joining up with a minority alliance. That and if it’s true someone voted out early on wins in the end, then yeah, disaster season.

There was a spoiler that said two men (one of whom was Alec) were uninvited to the reunion, and it did say that the other male (who we now know is Jeremy) left because he didn't want to be away from his family that long when he wasn't even in the game anymore. I do have to think there's more to it, because TPTB would be pretty big hypocrites for banning him solely for leaving Ponderosa, when other pre-jurors did the same.

It's an interesting looking cast for the theme this season. I like Victoria simply because she gives me 90s grunge vibes. I believe he was. And why do I feel like Joe lists '???' himself when he's asked for his occupation? I suppose if he were on DWTS he would be a cross between a Survivor contestant and whatever they call the IG and SM personalities that sell and promote products.

http://insidesurvivor.com/cast/season-38-cast-revealed So just an update but Redmond has the entire cast spoiled now.

So is she Harry and Mike Marv? I'll continue to think that Angelina is an entitled, egotistical mean girl who throws a hissy fit when she doesn't get her own way, talks big but doesn't deliver, and believes she is much better at the game in every way then she really is. I also believe that Jeff likes Angelina not for the reasons he said, but he put on this big "she's such a strong woman" to further feed her ego. The women were kind of a weak group this season overall, but if anything I'd argue Kara was probably the best out of all them.

This will never get old.

My favorite Ponderosas were HvsV and Micronesia (where we actually saw the final 2 show up). And this season will rank up there now, too. I remember Andrea saying that the GC Ponderosa was a lot more blah compared to her Caramoan Ponderosa. She said Caramoan was a big party and GC everyone was over it and just wanted it to be over.
-
I'm like the majority where once you're out of the game, you should stay out of the game. I mean, Erik recovered from his medical issue a few hours after being medevaced from Caramoan, but they didn't let him return. I'd be more in favor of something like that than a person being voted off (which is part of the game) getting to return just because they can outlast someone on an island longer. At least with redemption island, though, people were still regularly eliminated and they weren't just hanging out for weeks with the same crowd. This sounds like every person could be voted off and waiting for the challenge to return. I can see how someone voted off early and returns can win with this set up.

I had heard it was Aubry who made the FTC and lost to an early boot, and that Kelley lost the fire making challenge. I had also heard the returning players didn't fare well, but I think that's all just speculation right now. Joe seems tailor made for a twist like this. I can believe that this twist backfires big time on them, and I do wonder if that's what led to Lynn's firing? I'm not sure if they underestimated how popular DvsG was going to be, because Jeff didn't seem hyped for that season at first. But if S38 is an epic trainwreck because of the twist and cast, then I can see where they are worried. But I'm not sure what they were expecting-these people are voted off and go to an island with nothing to do until the challenge comes around for them to get back into the game.

Our last Ponderosa's of the season :( I'm going to miss this group. Davie Alison Kara

I was so nervous during this whole finale. The one season the editors don't go and make it obvious and we don't have a bitter jury, is the one season where I care about the outcome the most. When the first vote came up for Nick and the next 3 were for Mike I thought it was over. Then when Probst read another Nick vote, I thought he was probably just trying to make it suspenseful. Nick played a great game, and while he had his mistakes along the way (namely trusting Mike), I think he did rebound from them successfully. He was just an all around good person, never bragged, never showed off, and did what he had to do to keep furthering himself. I do think he would have beat any of the finalists, except Davie. I'd still like to know what Christian was talking about when he said he hoped Mike's game play was the future of the show. I wonder if he and Christian are friends. This cast does seem particularly close with each other.

I want to know why it wasn't brought up that Nick and Mike had to help Angelina get her idol (and find her clue, since she lost it in the first place). And Mike found it one handed while holding a glass of wine. Unless they didn't want to seem petty. Seriously, I don't think many people were buying Angelina's crap. I'm curious if we're going to find out if they cut out her fireworks at the Alison vote or if she said she changed her mind and realized it was a bad move. Clearly she was being petty at the at vote and totally wanted to embarrass Alison with the hidden idol. Curious how she'll spin it in interviews.

Angelina is trending on Twitter, and here was one of my favorites:

He left Ponderosa early, because I guess he just didn't want to be away from his family that long when he wasn't in the game anymore. Not sure if there was more to it than that, because pre-jurors have left Ponderosa before and didn't get banned (except Vytas).

I think so too, but I felt that way about this season and was surprised. Still, I'd hate to be following on the heels of DvsG.
-
Joe is kind of a dime a dozen type on here-super popular, but is in the Ozzy/Malcolm wheelhouse. There are others who came before and after him that also fit the profile. I think he is all about the game, but yeah, he seems to enjoy the actual survival aspect and challenges most it seems. His return isn't super surprising, and neither is Kelley's. I am surprised by Aubry, and to a lesser extent David. I know David was the popular fish out of water who found idols as they fell from the sky and saved Jessica with her pink eye when she had no idea she was about to be blindsided. Aubry really fizzled during game changers, so her inclusion does surprise me. I wonder what role exactly they are going to have-captains to pick a tribe, or just join a tribe. And what if it's 3 tribes? Do one of them go to the extinction island by default?
-
I actually don't mind Joe coming back, although I feel his odds of winning are slim. However, this twist is no doubt to benefit the returning players staying in the game. Joe can no doubt survive the island of extinction and win his way back into the game. I won't be surprised if he's a pre-merge boot this time, unless he gets lucky. I just laughed when I thought about Christian in a season like this. He could probably just talk everybody into quitting and get back into the game by default.

Going to give this a bump since we got our first official preview! Wendy already gave me Angelina vibes. Hope this theme isn't as bad as I'm envisioning.
-
I think he needs a shave and a haircut (just a trim!) Still love his manbun.
-
Already excited for next season, though I feel it is going to be a letdown after this one. But I honestly had such low expectations from this group and they delivered. So we'll see! Will look forward to chatting everyone again! I do hope Pat gets another shot. I always feel sorry for the medevacs. Crazy to think Nick would have been voted off first had Pat not gone out.
-
Supposedly he left Ponderosa early, because he didn't want to have to stick it out that whole time for nothing. Not sure if there's more to the story than that.
-
In all this has been a great season. Great editing, game play, no excessive amounts of twists and advantages (and the advantages were played well), a great cast, I loved the challenges, and I didn't even find the rewards over done. No bitter jury, which I feel is the first time in a very, very, very long time that's happened. There's so many people I want to see come back in future seasons.
-
Natalie wasn't pleased with her edit and Jeff dared to ask her why.
-
There have been plenty of women who have gotten accolades and played a strong game in the past. Angelina played a terrible game. We saw it during the finale. We saw it all season. Other women from previous seasons would run circles around her. Okay Christian, you've redeemed yourself. You're just so stinking adorable!

And we see a clip of poor Dan playing his idol-and then getting nullified.
