I'm so happy to see Guatemala get some love! I have always found that season to be underrated. It's like TPTB just skip from Palau to Exile Island and forget it even existed. I don't understand how no one from that season has ever been brought back (and I don't count Stephenie, as she's a Palau transplant). Judd and Jamie were both underappreciated villains. And the location alone makes me long for the days when Survivor actually traveled to different locales, instead of just putting down roots in Fiji and have to come up with stupid themes because they can't just call the season after the location. That season is one that I went through a roller coaster of feelings each episode. Of course one of the all time greatest moments was Gary Hawkins, the landscaper, whose identity was foiled by the sports caster from Kansas. And since I didn't like Stephenie, seeing her losing streak continue was sweet (between Palau, her losses on Guatemala, and HvsV, I'm thinking it's her that brought the bad luck to her tribes).

Not to mention the other outcast is the young black kid who can't swim-welcome to Survivor! It just seems so stupid that the big group ganged up on her and Keith over Reem, and them going off and helping him with his swimming. Now, I know with editing there's more to it than that, but I'm really glad they showed a sweet moment between 3 castaways, and immediately cut to the cool kids saying they had to go because they might be an alliance (an alliance of 3 against the other 7). That moment didn't make many fans of the rest of the blue tribe elsewhere online. The one thing that might save her is Keith. Obviously there are going to be swimming challenges, and if they lose another challenge, they may cut him first since he can't swim that well. I can't argue with Keith being the weak link in the water challenges, but again, after the first IC, I can't say there aren't other weak links on that tribe.

That was supposed to be the theme for S34. Among the winners who didn't make the final cut were Danni, Sophie, and Earl (Natalie Anderson did but dropped out last minute due to work commitments-that's how we wound up with Sierra). I think Earl dropped out before the final cut due to other commitments, and Sophie was just cut from the roster. I'm assuming that was the case with Danni. But your right that Probst has said they haven't done an all winners season because (according to him) they don't have enough interesting winners. Because there've been more than enough winners who've said they want to return to make up an 18 or 20 person season. When I look at the winners, three of the ones that Probst would probably want back might not return: Sandra, Boston Rob, and Parvati. Rob and Parvati pretty much said they were done, and Parvati just had a baby. The early winners, Hatch, Vecepia, Brian, and Jenna, may not even be considered (I'm 99% sure Brian wouldn't be). Amber has said she has no plans on coming back, I thought I read that Tom had health problems, which leaves Chris (who says he wants to return), Tina (probably the most likely of the early group to come back), and Ethan. Guatemala to HvsV, we've had winners already return or be considered, and then those like Parvati who said she wouldn't come back. My feeling is that most of the winners will be post HvsV, with a smaller chunk from Guatemala-Samoa, and then a couple from the early seasons. That's if they do an all winners season. I could see them doing HvsV again, but I'd like to see a mix of returning players that finished all over, like they originally planned for S34 (and I hope they go back to the early seasons for some of their picks). Maybe pre-show alliances will be less likely if they aren't all from the last 10 seasons. I'd love to see Danni back, just to finally have a Guatemala rep return. I continue to find that an underappreciated season with an underrated cast. ETA: Oh, and the possible theme choices for S39 sound horrible. They need to get out of Fiji.

I went into this not expecting to like her, but she emerged as one of my big favorites after last night. Which means I've jinxed her lol, but looking at her place on the tribe, she's not in a good place. Not sure why exactly she became such an outcast, unless it wasn't following the cool kids around in their clique and bowing down to Wentworth and Wardog.
-
When I first saw him, I thought of Bradley from Ghost Island and thought this is what he'd look like in 10 years. Wasn't digging Rick after last night, so I'd be fine if he's the next to go.
-
I like this guy. I thought the scene of Reem and Wendy trying to help him with his swimming was one of the sweetest things to ever be seen on this show. Not sure what his odds are, especially if his tribe thinks he's a liability. Hopefully the longer he survives, the better chance the others have of getting on each other's nerves and he manages to blend in. Overall his tribe is meh but I'm hoping he and Wendy can stick around.
-
Maybe Natalie White from Samoa, but it's been so long since I've watched that season and all I remember is Russell. The yellow tribe didn't seem to get much focus last night, besides Joe, Aubry, Eric, and Gavin. I know we saw Ron with his advantage and Julie saying how she sucks at the outdoor experience. Did anyone else get a confessional? Oh, Aurora, but that was a quick one, too. Last night made me remember why I didn't like Kelley in the first place. Also, it hasn't been revealed yet but I think it's just going to be a typical challenge they compete in to get back in. Which might benefit someone whose recently booted; they might have had food rewards, had fire and better shelter than those on IOE will likely have. If Reem actually made it to the part where they can re-enter the game, it'd be what, 18 days she would have been out there? Assuming they don't merge earlier.

https://ew.com/tv/2019/02/21/survivor-jeff-probst-edge-of-extinction-premiere/ Here's a teaser from Jeff for next week. I was shocked that no one found an idol episode 1. But my guess is one of the returning players is going to find it. That's the one thing that's alluded Joe in his Survivor journey, and since Eric is targeting him and Aubry, he'd be my guess to find it on his tribe. I know none of the spoilers are confirmed at this point, but after the premiere, I'm wondering if there's truth to Aubry making the final 3 but getting blasted by the jury for not doing anything. She said last night something about laying low and staying back, whereas Joe was talking about wanting to be in the center and offer advice. Then we had Eric say last night and in the preview about not wanting a returning player to win and getting them out. Maybe it's foreshadowing.
-
I'm going to be curious if anyone passes up the opportunity, but my guess is they won't since it's not specific what they are going to have to do to earn their sport back. It'll be interesting to see how many are left standing when the first opporunity to re-enter the game rolls around. BTW, did anyone notice tonight that Jeff didn't say 'once I read the votes the decision is final.'
-
Also worth noting that David said something about blindsiding Kelley, which will probably get back to her, and could cause her to turn on him. I find the odds of David or Kelley going more likely than Joe or Aubry at this point, because Kelley/David might be directly targeting each other. On the yellow tribe (sorry, still don't know the names yet), Eric seems to be the only one we've seen wanting Joe and Aubry gone. Now, I know didn't see enough of the tribe dynamics to know where everyone else really stands, but he might be in the minority with that one. Gavin may have just been agreeing with him just because, and next week we see him talking to Victoria and Julia (I think it was her), but who knows what they are going to think. Joe/Aubry did look kind of like two outcasts in the quick clip we saw of them.
-
I had to laugh when Joe said he wanted to shake the Joey Amazing label-then we cut to Joe making fire, helping with the shelter, offering advice, breezing through the challenge. I would want to keep Joe around for challenge wins alone. I still love Joe and his manbun, though I think he does need a trim and to lose the mustache.

I thought Jeff was kind of condescending at TC when Reem was trying to plead her case. He just seemed bored. I hope they aren't going to make all the votes this obvious, because they didn't even try to throw a red herring in that someone else might be going home. I'm surprised Jeff even made them get up and vote. But as long as his beloved Wentworth sticks around...yeah, wasn't a fan of her tonight, either. I kind of had high hopes for Lauren but not sure she's going to do much other than be star struck by the favorites. I get that, but Wendy already was a target whether she knew it or not (how dare she try and teach Keith to swim!). I get where she was coming from, but Wardog seemed like 'how dare she'. Your getting rid of her only ally, so who cares how she votes.
-
Also, tonight when Wendy was talking to WarDog and David at the well, and she said she wasn't going to vote for Reem out of loyalty-then when she walked away, WarDog was like 'well, maybe we should vote for Wendy.' Because she isn't just following what you want her to do? He's a jerk. Unfortunately there will be a tribe swap at some point but I'd love to see Manu or whatever they're called go total Ulong and self destruct.

So next week, looks like Eric isn't backing down on getting the returning players out. We'll see if he gets his wish or gets blindsided.

Reem seemed like way too easy of a first boot choice. She’s annoying, but is she the weakest person on that tribe? Of course, I dislike everyone on that tribe not named Wendy or Keith at this point, so I would have much rather someone else get the boot (preferably WarDog or Rick). I liked that they didn’t waste time with the marooning and got right to camp. There’s a few key things I would make sure to know how to do before going on Survivor. One of them is knowing how to swim. Keith, you seem like a sweet guy, but I’m not liking your chances when it comes to being a challenge liability. I was wondering if anyone was going to question the title of the season. Can someone explain to me again why people lie about being lawyers on here? I already don’t like Wardog. I thought I was going to dislike Wendy, but she seems sweet. After tonight, though, she’s screwed. I think I dislike the rest of the blue tribe just for making a big deal out of Keith getting a swimming lesson from Wendy and Reem. Seriously, what was that all about? You people are up against Joe for god sake. But yeah, not digging that tribe except for Wendy and Keith. As for the yellow tribe, I don’t care for Eric; I get the vibe it’s less about learning stuff on his own and more that he wants to be the alpha that calls the shots and is the hero in challenges.
-
Probst: ‘Wentworth played idols! David never gave up! Joe is a challenge beast! And Aubry cried.’ And of course the two oldest women are looking like the most worthless and annoying at camp. Oh show, I missed you. And this is where we’re at with advantages now-they get to pick what they want? May Reem win her way back and be the Lill to the blue tribe.
-
https://youtu.be/czjTJ_abdZ0 Not really sure if this is a spoiler or not, but here is the first few minutes of tomorrow night's opening. In addition, here's a little bit of footage of the yellow tribe arriving at camp, and Joe trying hard not to let Joey Amazing come out.

I follow Joe on IG and it seems he does a lot around Sierra’s farm and with her horses. She even said she’s teaching him the business. So Farmer Joe? Also it looks like he’s trying to make a go of his art, although I’m not sure he’s gotten paid for anything yet. At the very least he’s not just sitting around on mom’s couch anymore. For the record I’m not into his relationship with Sierra, either. I’ve never liked her, and I was much more fascinated with whatever he had going on with Kelly Wiglesworth.
-
Probst loves Wentworth, so I'm not surprised by that. And I tend to agree about the newbies letting the returning players get far in the game. Of course, TPTB have to throw in stupid twists to help the returning players stick around even if they are voted off, but still. I laugh about the first FvsF because of the favorites hating each other crossed with some of the favorites being star struck by the vets. FvsF 2.0 was kind of similar, and let's not forget Redemption Island.
-
He and Sierra have been together since I think she was on GC, but haven’t been living together long. That article, as well as some other pre season ones I’ve read from Joe, is like a mix of someone who wants to win but is taking the Ozzy approach at this point and just enjoying the ride. Joe always seemed like the type that lived for the adventure side first, money side second anyway. I don’t know what the validity is of the spoilers, but I won’t be that surprised if he’s voted out pre merge this time. Unfortunately people seem to be able to tell when the merge is coming due to the number of people left. So they may keep Joe until then and then vote him out. I know there was a pic from Sierra IG from when he first came home (it’s in the Reddit spoilers) and it looks like he lost no weight. However, it’s taken at an angle. Plus, when Joe got back from Cambodia, people speculated he didn’t go far because he bragged about being up all night his first night home and then hiking the next day. Not only was he jury, he didn’t come home in good health. So who knows. Last season was the first Fiji season I felt anyone looked like they lost weight and looked terrible anyway.

Some other spoilers from the posters at Sucks: it appears that the Blue tribe possibly loses the second IC as well. Right now it does seem as though Reem is going to be the first boot based on screen shot evidence, as Julie is accounted for now past episode 1. Gavin and Eric are the only person from the yellow tribe not accounted for past episode 2 so there's a chance yellow could still lose; not must evidence of Joe post episode 2, either. It looks as though the following castaways are likely safe until at least episode 3 (possibly episode 4, depending on how the challenges play out): Aurora, Julie, Julia, Aubry, Victoria, Ron, Joe, Lauren (Aurora, Lauren, Julia, and Ron were seen in a challenge where it's raining, possibly episode 4, and Ron has facial hair growth at that point). Chris was seen wearing a red buff (I think it was on his SM and deleted?). And if anyone wants to see them, here are the opening credits posted by EW, which is where some of the spoilers came from because of future challenges castaways are seen competing in: https://ew.com/tv/2019/02/15/survivor-edge-of-extinction-opening-credits-titles/
-
I like her. She's the same age as Reem (the only two women in their 40s), and one of the only three people this season over 40. Looks like the majority of the cast is in their 20s. So if her tribe loses one too many challenges we'll see if they take the easy way out and vote out the oldest woman there (not having any outdoor experience might not help her cause, too).
-
The would go along with the posters at Sucks, who have also dissected pics and promos, including the opening credits that EW posted. There's nothing to support Reem or Julie past the first episode. One poster also picked up on David wearing a green buff, which means he's safe until the swap. There's shots of contestants competing in future challenges, so that may help determine who else makes it past the next few episodes. ETA: It's possible the green buff David is wearing is the buff they're given on Island of Extinction. I'm not really sure why they would wear buffs out there, but it's possible. I know it was speculated he might have been an early boot due to IG activity while the show was still filming.

I still love Joe (although he needs to do something about the mustache). If he makes it to the family visit I'm guessing we'll be seeing Sierra pop out from behind the bushes this time.
-
If there's a fishing equipment reward with a spear gun, he'll brag about his skills and not be able to use it, or end up dropping it in the bottom of the ocean.
